  1. Title is pretty self-explanatory. What's your favorite Rush album? Also, you can rank every Rush album from 1-20 if you prefer (I do!) Sorry if this topic already exists, I looked it up and didn't see it so I decided to create it myself.

*EDIT* Feedback isn't technically Rush, so include it if you like but the songs on that track were made by other artists.

    19. Presto

    18. Caress of Steel

    17. Roll the Bones

    16. Hold Your Fire

    15. Rush

    14. Fly By Night

    13. Hemispheres

    12. 2112

    11. Signals

    10. Counterparts

    9. A Farewell to Kings

    8. Moving Pictures

    7. Power Windows

    6. Grace Under Pressure

    5. Permanent Waves

    4. Test for Echo

    3. Clockwork Angels

    2. Snakes & Arrows

  2. CA's current report card...

    Caravan: C

    BU2B: B

    Clockwork Angels: B

    Anarchist: A

    Carnies: B

    Halo Effect: D

    Seven Cities of Gold: C

    Wreckers: C

    Headlong Flight: A

    BU2B2: F

    Wish Them Well: D

    Garden: C

...which leaves an overall GPA of 2.25.

I believe CA is or, at least, should be better than that. I think 4 years ago I probably would've given it a 3.0 overall.

But it is what it is and whatever.

    I have to disagree...

    Caravan: B

    BU2B: A

    Clockwork Angels: C

    The Anarchist: B+

    Carnies: C

    Halo Effect: B

    Seven Cities of Gold: B

    The Wreckers: A

    Headlong Flight: B

    BU2B2: D-

    Wish Them Well: C+

    The Garden: B+

With my grading, Clockwork Angels has a 2.8 GPA.

  3. Barcelona didn't allow Neymar to play Copa America, probably for the reason you said.

Neymar is great, but Brazilian team can't only count on him.

He's only one person, the team needs more great players.

True, but he was definitely a significant help to the Brazilian team...

  4. I can't believe Brazil isn't advancing! Even after beating Haiti 7-1 they still don't advance.

Speaking of Haiti, if you are in the mood for some humor, go watch their highlights!

Group A this year was crap. United States looked like Sheffield United from English Division One, Colombia looked like Peterborough United, and the rest of the group just looked plain awful. I wouldn't be surprised if the USA got knocked out by Ecuador and Colombia got knocked out by Peru.

Argentina practically have the tournament in the bag. With Brazil out of the way and Mexico being the only opponent that has even a remote chance of beating them, there's no way they aren't winning this. Especially with Messi, Di Maria, Aguero, Rojo, and Romero in net. Oh yeah, and Biglia too. Heck, with this team, they could win the World Cup in 2018!

Brazil isn't a greater team anymore. New players and talents need to be prepared.

The coach must have selectd two or three others who aren't there too.

    It happens...

True...I hear Neymar is injured though and that's contributing to it...I might be wrong (I don't really follow that much of La Liga) but he's injured, right?

  6. It's quite a shock that Holland (Netherlands, whatever) are not in the tournament. It's unacceptable at their level of play to not even qualify!

Also, the English really need to calm down. They've been responsible now for attacking both the French and Russians. That's almost like when you're invited to somebody's house, then you beat them up and their friend. Even though I am rooting for England (I watch Barclay's Premier League, so I know all of the players) I think they should be booted out of the tournament if so much as one fan lays a hand on another.

I think France is going to win it all this year. Their team is definitely the strongest in the tournament, featuring players like Giroud, Pogba, Kante, and Lloris in net.

  7. I got the album the first day it came out. I remember because the next day was the last day of school and I was listening to the entire album that whole day and basically the rest of the summer. Happy birthday to Rush's possibly last studio album (hopefully not though!)

  8. People are going to kill me for my picks but...

    1. Far Cry (Snakes & Arrows)

    2. BU2B (Clockwork Angels)

    3. Bravest Face (Snakes & Arrows)

    4. YYZ (Moving Pictures)

    5. How It Is (Vapor Trails)

    6. Faithless (Snakes & Arrows)

    7. Virtuality (Test for Echo)

    8. Working Man (Rush)

    9. Losing It (Signals)

    10. Everyday Glory/Out of the Cradle (tied for 10th from Counterparts and Vapor Trails)

I like the new, harder rock music more than the older music. Spirit of Radio and Tom Sawyer are great songs but they aren't in my top 10.

  9. I always thought Analog Kid had a summery vibe, despite the "autumn woods" and "winter skies" of the chorus.

A hot and windy August afternoon...

Good point...I just always thought of it being like a "school has just started" type of song.

  10. Analog Kid I have to disagree with. To me it sounds more of a September song. Technically September is part of summer (mostly) but I don't really think of it being like a hot, summer day sort of song.

Distant Early Warning wouldn't make much sense to me, it's more of a winter song. "I see the tip of the iceburg..." just throws it off a bit, don't you think?

Also, Summertime Blues is not technically a Rush song. But since they did remake it (and to me made it better), I'll take it!

  11. Hey everyone!

Every year I make summer playlist about songs that are relating to summer (I do the same with Christmas as well.) I tried to incorporate a few Rush songs into my playlist this year, but the only one I could think of relating to summer is Lakeside Park. Are there any other songs that are about summer that anyone knows of that are made by Rush?

By the way, I'm sorry if I put this in the wrong category. I'm new here still, so I'm still getting used to things :)

    Thanks!

  12. i don't have a fave Rush album because it will be MP this week,Presto the next,PoW next.

I can totally relate! My favorite overall is Vapor Trails but every week to a month I will feel like listening to a particular album and that will be my favorite album for a week.

  13. Was just reminded of another good one:

"You sometimes have to listen to, a lot of useless talk"

Agree, basically high school in a nutshell too haha.

"I just want to be a sports announcer, could you help me to reach that goal?"

"No you need to learn about National Parks and how to dissect and how to write useless poetry that can't even be converted into song lyrics etc. in case you want to be a Science or English teacher.

This was from Grand Designs, right?

My 10th grade English teacher had us chart out contemporary music lyrics and break down the meter and disect meaning to help us understand how Shakespeare worked.

    Mr Roy Hagar. A legend.

Wow that figures, you get to break down music lyrics while I have to sit in class and take words out of a Robert Frost poem and make that into my own poem...figures...quite a school you go to! I'm in 9th grade currently and our English teacher is terrible! She can't even control half of the class!

  15. You got: Subdivisions

You are a naturally introverted person. You are a deep thinker, as well as intelligent and mature for your age. This often times displaces you socially from your peers, making you an outsider of mainstream society. You tend to be a loner, however, fixated on achieving your goals in life.

    True, mostly.
