Rush can not even hope to sink down to Gene Simmons's level until they come out with signature condoms and coffins ;).

^^That makes perfect sense, lol! I thought they were either female Rush fans or Ged's fan girls. The actual word sounded like something painful growing on the bottoms of his feet :D.

I'm sure this has been asked too many times on here, but google didn't explain an answer to my question sufficiently :P. What exactly are Geddycorns and what is the name's origin/meaning?

Hot diggity damn, there's even Ged themed ones! I may be purchasing some of these little treasures.

That vote literally hurt me. It was a choice between 2112 and Hemispheres...had to go with 2112 though. It was mostly because of personal nostalgia value and the compact perfection that is 2112.

^^But it is our responsibility, nay, obligation to share the glory of Rush with those who live in ignorance of it :D.

If you want a tattoo think about it for a year. If you still want it after a year then go for it. If you think a year is too long to wait to get a tattoo then it certainly will be an eternity to spend wearing a tat you didn't give enough thought to.

 

(Note: I have a few tattoos, including one I only gave brief thought to before getting, and now wish I never did.)

 

Also, the rule I've heard about tats is: Never get tattoos of someone else's name, or the name of a band you are not a member of.

 

This is great advice. I have quite a few tattoos myself, and all are things that have meant something huge to me nearly my whole life. I am thinking on getting a tatt with some lyrics from The Pass on it, but I'm using the year rule AT LEAST before I jump that gun, if not longer.

 

Do what you feel is right for you as it is your body. But, please for the love of Rush make damn well sure you're ready AND that you get a decent artist at a reputable parlor. I cannot stress that last bit enough.

Maybe angelic is the wrong term for Ged's screech-tastic vocals. But, his singing is f***ing awesome period (back in da day).

They all appeared pretty animated in Chicago. Especially when Neil pulled that goofy little stunt ;).

Geddy has always been hot ;).

I knew this was a long shot, *sigh.

I've got a friend who decided to wait on getting tickets for Chicago for financial reasons. Now he really, really wants to go with us, but the only tickets available on most sites are marked way up as we are all aware :P. If anyone has an extra they'd be willing to sell for around face value, that'd be just grand. Oh, and he isn't picky, nosebleeds are fine, lol. Thanks!

Hell, I'd read well written Rush fanfic if I knew where to find it. That's me though. I grew up reading all kinds of fic, mostly Beatles related band wise. Some of it was great, a lot was crap. Also some was sexual, quite a few were not. Nothing creepy about liking fanfic at all. It's just not for everyone ;).

Ugh, I suppose Hemispheres just based on musical advancement. But, both are completely awesome in their own way.

I just see no point myself in having the show's set list spoiled for me. I want to go in fresh and let it all wash over me with no expectations. Just my preference though.

 

I was so glad to see a separate sub-forum set up this morning for the spoilers ;).

I have a lot of "favorite" bands, and Rush is among them. Good tunes is good tunes, no need for ranking for me :).

Yeah, I gotta go with the 1st era of Rush. It's what made me love the band :).

Another vote for St. Louis '80. It's by far my favourite live recording of the band, bootleg or official release, and the version of La Villa on it is--to use a musical term--amazeballs.

People get way too into whether it's the "end" of the band. Not saying this to offend anyone but, let's not hold the Rush wake just yet (or ever).

Meh, do musicians ever really fully retire? Most of the ones I know personally who are older quit gigging on a constant basis, but they still play a lot at home or the every once and a while show. I think Rush is the same way. They will do a gig from time to time and record stuff sometimes. No big whoop ;).
