And what about this quote of his which totally insults us now (God, does this ego of his know any bounds?):
“Crap? Yes, but sometimes people love crap.”
— Geddy Lee talking about his crappy band

Fixed you fellow 2112 lover you... :)2112 got me into them almost instantly on a random whim. But, then again, I'm awesome/ambitious :P.
Aww, thanks Narps ;).

Xanadu (the good one :P) has been my ringtone for around a year and I'm still not tired of it.

More than likely, especially since Ged will be lighting a fire underneath everyone else's asses to do so. He's been so vocal in public about wanting to play/record that I can't imagine he's probably 10x as enthusiastic about it in private, lol. God, love that man.

Hey, he might just have the mad janitorial skillz it takes to make it in the custodial arts since he fails so miserably at music :D.

That's exactly right Mick. Gaudy Lee has no friends besides his coon skin hat. Anyone trying to fool gullible people into believing they are Davey Crockett is clearly compensating for something.

I thought he sang like a chipmunk?
That and like chasing a cat through the door with a blowtorch up its a$$.

Ahem, alt-Xanadu was actually written and originally recorded by Jeff Lynne of ELO .

This is going to go over like a lead balloon.
Well, if people can't handle the stone cold truth, let em be shipped off to Switzerland like King Caterwaul .

he also yodels.....that's nomero uno!!!!!!!!
for shame Ged.....for shame!!!!!!!!!!
Mick
Yeah, how could I forget about his damn yodel. Get that boy a pair of lederhosen and ship him off to the Alps where his kind belows!

He's a stinky long haired hippie who does nothing useful with his life. With that horrid hair, grandma glasses, dumbo ears, and huge schnozola it's ludicrous that anyone could imagine him as "hot". The boy needs a hair cut, some bass lessons ( that include refraining from humping his instrument), and a REAL job.
Finally, I feel I can vent the truth here :D.

^^ Yep, he's definitely Alanis Morisette. That cinches it ;).

The whole song is epic perfection, but I went with Soliloquy. Same reasons as cited by Snyder80 up yonder.

Top 3 for me definitely. Order doesn't matter, but here they are:
PeW
2112
Hemispheres

Or possibly he's Alanis Morrisette.

I don't particularly care for Xanadu

You changed your handle? I like it. Simple and to the point... :dweez:I also prefer Vans (more padding).
Yeah, my other one was kind of dorky too :P. Plus, I <3 his nickname of glee, makes me crack up almost every time.

The heck with those people on the former and I agree 1000% with the latter... :codger:Truly the people I know who really dislike 2112 only dislike it because of Ged's pitch on the title song.
2112 is still, in many ways, the band's definitive piece.
Ged's voice on 2112 is some masterpiece quality vocal work on his part. Seriously, not only does he sing it grandly, he acts out the emotions of the story with such passion and presence. It's one of the most gripping pieces of the song's story for me.
2112 will definitely always be the definitive work by Rush for me because it is what brought me to the band and made me an instant mega fan. First time I heard it (I was giving Rush a try and had just picked up a used copy at a record store), I was blasting side 1 in my car cruising back home on the highway. By the time the Priests of Syrinx section was chiming in, my mind just kept tugging at me repeatedly. I got really excited because it was pure magic happening in that car, as dorky as that sounds. It's rare a band grips me like that so quickly, and 2112 cinched it for me. Thank god for that perfect song/album turning me into a magical Geddycorn.

Just take a moment and behold the Ged mane...you'll realize your mistake if you think it should be altered if you have any sense at all ;). (*Note: you may NOT pet the Ged mane under any circumstances. I know it's near impossible to stop yourself, but do it.*)

Hold Your Fire love-fest
in Rush
Posted
Okay, long story short, I am VERY slow at absorbing Rush albums. I've just begun my real journey into HYF. Quite a few people on here have said it's their favorite album for various reasons (or not so much...). I haven't formed a real opinion yet (but let's just say, I think it's veering on deep like to possible love).
Just because I'm doing this kinda fresh, tell me what you think/feel about HYF in general. Also anything else you think I, as a newcomer to it, should know :P.
