Jacobs Ladder,a song I didn't care for much but after seeing and hearing it on R40 I can't get enough of it.Losing it was brilliant.Unfortunately I feel the first few numbers are vocally shaky.
He somehow sounded better on the older stuff.

Nearly all of my top thirty favourite Rush songs come from:
Presto
Hold Your Fire
Moving Pictures
And the list includes Tai Shan, High Water, Chain Lightning, Presto and Available Light.
However the title track to Hemispheres does not come close.
One could say my entire taste in Rush is guilty of many sins.
But I don't care.
How is Hemispheres a guilty pleasure?
I mentioned it coz I think it lesser than a lot of the songs this forum hate's on.
But it's a song I have a weird love/hate relationship with.
No need to feel guilty about HYF! It's a fantastic album!

I don't know if many of you will share this opinion, but I'm a pretty big Time And Motion fan.
Lock And Key would also be another "guilty pleasure" song of mine.
Time and Motion is great but Lock and Key is absolutely stellar.
I really like it too but it took a lot of years to get around to it.
Lock and Key has some amazing musicianship. It's also a fantastic song :)

The Speed of Love
I've taken so much abuse by some open-minded TRF members just because I like the song a lot.
I don't mind TSOL. It's definitely not their worst song.

What's a Rush song that gets a lot of hate that you secretly enjoy? For me it's Faithless. A lot of people seem to hate it but I really like it :)

The guitar building up to the first "I have stoked the fire" section in Headlong Flight gives me goosebumps.

I prefer it distorted, actually. It gives some wimpier songs more punch. A perfect example is Roll the Bones. The studio version is really thin, but live versions with the Fender really give it a fuller, edgier sound.
Especially the P Bass he used for R40 :)

Profound stuff right here2112 makes me sad. I feel sorry for the guy with the guitar.
Soliloquy is one of Geddy's best moments IMO.

Of all the Rush songs there are, which has the largest emotional impact? My vote goes to The Pass. That song is special and I love it dearly.

Hemispheres will always be amazing for vocals. 2112 too. I like pretty much anything that he's put out except maybe a few songs from S&A.
