Has a great lower end. Love it!

Good omen. A tour like this doesn't need the pitchfork wielding hoards complaining aboot the mix.
Agreed! Good thing we got Bottril on the mix this time. (Mike Fraser sucks)
-
*I like the sound of that.
*pun intended
You can listen to a super low quality 30 second sample on Amazon and it sounds like a great mix!

Why are they releasing just this one song??? Will others come out in drips and drabs before the full concert disk?
Not sure WHY they're releasing a single, but it'll gove us a preview of the great mix the entire package will have.
-
When is the full release date?
And thanks
Right now, November 20th. Could change though.

Rush's new live single "Roll the Bones (Live R40 Tour)" is now available for preorder and will be released Friday. I wonder why it hasn't been officially announced and why it's only on Amazon.

Has anyone seen an actual official release date? Still have not see something official from Rush or Rounder etc??
It's quite likely that they'll hold off mentioning it until this Friday which is when the RTB live single's suppose to be released or the day before.
My thoughts exactly. I expect an announcement (and hopefully a trailer!) on the actual website on Friday.

Two things, the audio sounds good, and geddy seems to have been tinkered with vocally, which is alright by me cause i hate a struggling live vocals, Like they fixed his vocals in some spots to make him sound not too bad. Hope this is the case with all. I know people want it (as is). but sometimes it can be embarrassing.. Second. iam sure the release date will be changed a few times before it comes out..
I don't think so, there was a massive improvement in vocals this tour.

The preview sounded good but the crowd was dead silent. I know some people like that, but for me a live record should sound like you're there. Basically it sounds like there was a lot of overdubbing. Still, should be a great dvd
You can't hear the crowd during songs on most of their live albums...

Buy the DVD now. Buy the Bluray as part of an R50 package!!!$$$So is it just a CD/DVD release? I was hoping for a blu ray.
Actually, I'd be shocked if this is not immediately released in Bluray.
I would be shocked and angry!

I heard the 30 second audio clip of Roll the Bones on Amazon, and I thought it sounded fantastic.
It's too bad the sample quality is so low.
-
Yay, just 2 more months! Praying that Botrill is doing the audio for the DVD as well.
I'm pretty sure the same guy mixes everything.
The audio should be much crisp and cleaner on DVD and BluRay than it is on CD.
It's too bad the sample on Amazon is super low quality because I want to hear the full quality of the mix.

The title is likely only for promotional purposes, though I'm shocked it's out this quickly. It'll end up being just three and a half months from the end of the tour, but I guess it'll be about five from the show's recording. The mix sounds pretty solid. Geddy is pretty loud, so I'm sure a whole mess of people will end up complaining about the vocals. But at the end of the day, that's just a part of being in your 60s.
Oh well. I'm excited! Sounds good, and I'll have some new Rush material in two months from now. Yippie!
I prefer vocals to be up front, I wanna hear Geddy clearly and not like CA Tour where he's buried by everything.

Rushisaband posted something about it after I told them about the amazon single :)

I'm sure all of the finer details will be revealed on the 25th. Let's try to keep our patiences until then folks!
If they put it up on itunes I'm preordering the single!
-
Talk about a total WTF title...
I'm betting on it being a promotional single for R40 Live.

Maybe this is a live single? IDK it seems like Roll The Bones is the only song available on Amazon at the moment. I agree DirkPrattLerxst, the mix sounds great compared to the last two live releases!
Snare drum sounds similar to R30 (because R40 drumset was basically an updated R30 set)
The way it looks certainly resembles the R30 kit, but the R40 kit is made out of a huge chunk of a Romanian oak tree that is over 1500 years old. This video explains it more.
Yeah I knew that, just saying it was a new R30 kit with no electronic stuff ;)

Though DW used a dfferent wood though for the shells IIRC correctly (I'm not sure if that's the correct terminology. I ain't a drummer), but nevertheless, Neil's snare sounds good and cuts through the mix well!
Not to mention you can hear the bass!!

Man I wish Botrill would have met the band after Counterparts.
Since then it's been hit or miss (TFE hit S&A hit VT miss CA miss)

Love the guitar tone from the 30 seconds available too and Geddy sounds good

Perhaps "Roll The Bones" will be released first as a promotional single and is not actually the title of the full-length video? Maybe that's all anyone knows so far.
Great minds think alike

It also says relasing September 25th. Maybe Roll the Bones is a live single!
R40 DVD/Bluray in 2015 or 2016?

Hopefully they made a R40 Tour documentary like they did for CA Blu Ray.
