  1. I discovered Rush when I was 16 years old in late 2012. Two classmates of mine recommended me to start listening to Rush and so they played me The Spirit of Radio. I thought the song was great and I was especially impressed by Neil's fantastic drumming, so I decided to start listening to the band. At the time I discovered them they had just been announced as the headliners of the Sweden Rock Festival 2013 which takes place the first week of June every year. I went there to see them along with my older brother, who also is a Rush fan, and the band put on an amazing show. The concert is without a doubt one of the three best concerts I've ever seen.

  2. Fingers crossed Geddy might do some solo shows in London. I've read he's a big fan of that city, and he and his wife vacation there quite a lot. Maybe he'll consider touring over here in a few years time with a new record.

I'd go and see that. Imagine Geddy playing 2 or 3 nights at the Hammersmith Apollo!

Not sure what the climate is like over there, but I don't think Geddy solo could sell out 2-3 nights in a comparable size room here in the states. Not on his first tour at least.

You may be right. Maybe it is a little too optimistic to expect Geddy to sell out multiple dates at the same venue on his first solo tour, but it would be very cool to see Geddy perform at a venue such as the Hammersmith Apollo.

  3. Neil will definitely retire after R40 and I'm pretty sure Alex also will.

    You, good sir, are correct.

But yes, I hope Geddy does some solo work. Even better? Geddy doing a run of solo club gigs. OMG, I almost drooled thinking of that. Checking out Geddy at a Sunset Strip venue....some stripped down acoustic Rush covers?

    GIMME. :)

It would be cool if Geddy did solo gigs at Massey Hall, Toronto, Beacon Theatre, New York or the Whiskey a-go go, LA.

  4. Ged is the most likely to do more projects out of the 3. I can totatally see a new ged solo album.

    Mick

I can as well. If he did, it would be nice if he went on a solo tour playing clubs in cities such as Toronto, Los Angeles and New York. I'd seriously be willing to go see such a tour in such cities if it happened.

As a matter of fact if Rush had never reunited i think we'd have a lot of Geddy albums by now. I've always had that feeling.

    I think so as well.

  6. Honestly this whole tour seems like they don't want to do it, they're only doing it because everybody else wants them to and it's kinda sad. I hope they're enjoying themselves at least a little bit.

I believe Geddy enjoys doing this tour quite a lot, while I think it's different when it comes to Alex and Neil. Neil is definitely retiring after the R40 Los Angeles show, and to be honest I think Alex also is.

  7. I think it sounds like a cool idea, but don't think it would actually happen. I'd like to see Geddy record a new solo album sometime in the coming years and maybe do a solo club tour or something like that, in fact I think we WILL see a solo album from Geddy sometime in the future since he seems to want to continue play/write/record music for many years to come while Neil and Alex may be thinking of retiring after the last R40 show in Los Angeles. Neil will definitely retire after R40 and I'm pretty sure Alex also will.

  8. support the band again by buying their stuff! I will give up the band, since they give up Europe!

They should come to their fans here in Europe as well and support them as we have supported them over the years!

North America get´s it all! More tour dates, 200g vinyls, meet and greets contest!

    It´s not fair...

Even though Rush will only play North America on the R40 tour, they will give their fans outside North America a sovuenir from the tour in the shape of a professionally shot dvd/blu-ray for us to enjoy for eternity as they have done with all their previous tours since their come back with Vapor Trails. Personally I'm very thankful that they have recorded a show every tour since Vapor Trails, as the only time I've got to see them in person was the Clockwork Angels Tour.

a pro shot video that is badly mixed, like Rush In Rio DVD and Clockwork Angels Tour video.

Hopefully they will hire David Bottrill to mix/produce the DVD. Bottrill is the guy who produced the remixed version of the Vapor Trails album and the Test for Echo footage on the R40 box set.
