I don't think there will be any additional concerts on the R40 tour, and I'm fine with that, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Geddy solo album in the coming years.

I watched videos from the Houston show the other day and I noticed that after Neil's drum solo in the second set Geddy said "The professor on the drums" just like he did in the 70s. I thought that was quite cool.
I think the best part of the show is the second set and the encore.

I would recommend Permanent Waves

Under the Dome by Stephen King

I got into Rush in late 2012 and I was lucky enough to see them live in June 2013 on the Clockwork Angels Tour. As R40 might be their last major tour, I feel a little dissapointed that I won't be able to see them live one last time, but to be honest I am incredibly glad of having seen them at al!!!. Also, I am really happy that Rush cares so much about their fans and has recorded a live dvd on every tour since their come back in 2002 so that people who aren't able to attend a show in person also gets to see the tour. Thanks to that I've seen the Vapor Trails tour, R30, Snakes and Arrows, Time Machine and now I will also be able to see R40!!!

I don't think Rush will make another album. Neil is done after August 1. But I'm pretty sure we will see a Geddy solo album sometime in the coming years.

I told one of my friends about Rush about a year and a half ago and played her 2112 Overture/Temples of Syrinx

I saw Alice Cooper this friday (July 3rd). I've been a fan of Alice for a long time and this was the first time I saw him in concert. It was f***ing amazing!!! In fact one of the best concerts I've seen :haz: :haz: :haz:

Dream Theater is currently on tour in Europe so far having played shows in Belarus and Poland. The set list has been the same for both gigs and they're playing one song from each album. Below is the setlist from the opening night in Belarus.

Dream Theater is currently rehearsing for their upcoming summer tour of Europe which starts in Minsk, Belarus on June 25. Here's a photo of Jordan Rudess and Mike Mangini in rehearsals! It's gonna be very exciting to see what songs they play on tour!

Also, I expect that we will in the coming 2-4 weeks have detailed info about DT's upcoming new album which they started recording in February. According to James LaBrie they will start touring the album in January 2016. That tour will see my first DT concert.
I hope we get another great album. they're on a roll with the past 2. I thank Mangini for the re-newed energy.
Mick
I hope it will be an album that features good melodic prog metal just like the previous two they've done with Mangini behind the kit. I agree that Mangini truly has re-newed the energy in the band, especially since their last two albums with Portnoy are too hard rocking for my taste. When I listen Systematic Chaos and Black Clouds, what I hear is a band that says "we're gonna write as hard rocking songs as just possible, no one will ever be able to rock harder than this bla bla bla" But anyway, I'm truly looking forward to their new album!
To be fair the whole band wasn't saying then.........just Portnoy.
Did i mention i'm so happy he's gone, lol
Mick
True that. When Mangini became their new drummer, they finally became a democracy.

My vote goes to Clockwork Angels. I think Snakes and Arrows is better than Vapor Trails but it doesn't beat Clockwork Angels.
-
I listen to Feedback quite a lot and think there's some really good covers on the album. But Clockwork Angels gets my vote.

You know, they don't play it at the same - what's the correct word - speed? - tempo? - beat? - today like they did back then.
Right now I'd give almost anything to go back in time to a Moving Pictures tour concert listening to these bootlegs. They were magnificent back then.
Tempo is the correct word

Clockwork Angels gets my vote. I think there's some really great material on Vapor Trails, for example One Little Victory, Ghost Rider, the title track, Secret Touch, Earthshine etc, but still Clockwork Angels gets my vote!

Predictions about the Los Angeles Show and potential finality of it.

They won't. The show on August 1 is not only the last show of the R40 tour, it is THE last Rush show ever. Neil will never tour again and Alex is also ready to retire. Hopefully we'll have a solo album from Geddy in a few years.
