  1. Danish men are the fifth tallest people in the world with an average of 5'93". I'm above average with 6'25". My weight is 186 lbs which gives me a body mass index of 23.

I'm a lean mean cooking machine!

    You're getting bigger pal ! ;)

6'2" tall and weighing a around 155-160 pounds. I have held that weight the last ten years and now I'm 30. I can eat whatever I want, I don't get fat. When I was younger it bothered me that I was so skinny, so I would eat everything I could but I could only get up to 176 pounds and that was by heavy drinking too. Now I have settled with the fact that I will always be tall and skinny, but now I dress to enhance that and sometimes workout to tone my body.

Yeah, the evidence sits right at the waist

Curiosity got me buying a scale today, and I got my weight off by 9 lbs. I'm actually 195 lbs. Maybe it's time to train my self discipline.

Do you still ride your bike a lot? ...or am I confusing you with another TRFer?

I did use to so it could be me you're thinking of. Honestly I don't ride it as much anymore which is not good. I have been going to the gym though lifting weights.

Yeah, it was you I was thinking of. I remember you had been doing some pretty good rides.

I really should be going before the summer ends.

  2. Here's a couple ...

The "Long live the king" scene from The Lion King. Still gives me a lump in my throat. I haven't watched Disney movies in ages, but I think the subject matter in that movie was bold, and very very deep in a psychological way.

The end scene of The Mist for obvious reasons.

The violence in Pan's Labyrinth. I believe there's a hidden treasure in that movie, but I don't know if I can ever watch it again. I don't want to feel that depression again.

The sex scenes from The Room.

The funeral scene from My Girl. I was a young kid and it was the first movie that brought tears to my eyes.

  3. The end scene of The Mist (film adaptation of a Stephen King story) is pretty brutal.....

I didn't like that ending. It didn't really make much sense to the main character. He went through all that he did in the first 99% of the movie...THEN, he finally decides to do what he did?! I didn't buy it.

I didn't like much of the movie anyway. But the ending was the bad icing on the bad cake for me.

It makes sense to me. He wouldn't do that if he didn't think all had been tried. It's an act of desperation.

  5. Was I the only one walking out after the end, feeling optimistic and wanting to better myself? That's the effect the Churchill speech had on me.

Imagine starting a concert with that speech? Hmmm, I wonder which band could pull this off?

I immediately thought of a band but couldn't quite put my tongue on which one

  7. I love that show. A friend got me into it and at first I wasn't really feeling it, but a couple of episodes and I was hooked. Jerry actually bugs me because of his apparent weakness, but the way you described him makes me think there's a lot more to him. You could say he's the modern day beta male.

  9. Going to the library and borrow some cook books. I'm tired of having a bloated stomach so I'll see if I can start eating more healthy. After that I will make a plan over what I'm going to eat next week, and do the grocery shopping.

I'm also going to bake a banana-chocolate cake, but after that I'm going to be more healthy. Until the next cake.

    And clean my room.

  10. Going to Germany to shop household items for the next 6 to 9 months. The VAT is lower. I have a storage room that comes with my apartment that I have set up with shelves, so I stack the items up like a happy little prepper ;)

You're not going to Hamburg, are you?

No that would be driving too far. It just across the border.

I've got a BMI of TMI, but am healthy and happy. :D

BMI is only half the truth. There is so much more to it :D

  13. Close enough to 6' but my son is 6'6" if that matters. From my observations over the years a great question for male Rush fans is how bald are you? Lol. Pretty thin on top over here...

Well, I'm becoming increasingly a Rush fan

  14. Saw this film. I got extremely emotional, my hometown made the Spitfires right up to 1945.

The lack of dialogue made this film intense and powerful. It reaffirmed the incredulous perspective the British Navy, Airforce and military

had of what Germany really had prepared on the coast of France.

Here is Spitfire Island in my hometown

At Churchills speech I was a blubbering mess. This film means so much to me.

    Lest we forget.

Your, and others, reaction to this movie is what I think it was meant to achieve. Never was it intended to be a popcorn-entertainment movie. We know Nolan is able to create those. This is one of those rare visceral movies.
