  1. I'm too lazy to post pics, but the Rickenbacker is the one from Exit, Steinberger is from GUP, Wal is on ASOH, and the Jazz is on everything recent But sometimes he uses different ones for different songs. Or is he always using the same one? Or am I thinking of Alex? Alex switches guitars quite a bit, especially lately. Geddy not so much, he normally picks a bass and plays the whole tour with it, and for the last eternity it's been the Jazz bass What's the red one he uses for 2112? If during CA tour, just a fender jazz
  2. Sorry before a musician jumps on me, tired today - meant to say 7 beats in the space of 8 in one bar, like playing a country song and polka in the same measure
  3. As a bass player - YES IT IS!! Different time signatures ( will explain because your not a musician - your typical song is 4/4 - 1 bar or measure of music has divisable by 2 - 2 beats in a measure, 4, 8, 16, they will play for example 7/8, so 7 beats in two bars, 1-2-3,1-2-3-4 - it's like playing a polka and country song interchanged every bar) the speed played, intricate parts.

Geddy not so much, he normally picks a bass and plays the whole tour with it, and for the last eternity it's been the Jazz bass Geddy switches often, just various years and models of Fender Jazz. You won't see him use the Ric. Too heavy, which I can't understand as not much difference between them. Rics are love hate and not for everyone even if you used to own one. I use mine only part of the night, switching between five other basses. A lot buy them and never use, eventually selling because they take time to get used to. I can understand why he wouldn't want to use for one song after using Fenders all night. I myself hate Fenders. You won't see him go back to Wal or Steinburg. Fads and even back before Rics he was using Fenders.
  5. Love what I started when slagging Triumph. :) Soon as I have a few seconds will write, how they came about, about Rick and how they treated other bands ;)
  6. It's not that at all, I just don't think at this point of there career they need an opeing act. If they ever did, it would have to some one like UFO or a band that they toured with back in the 70's. Otherwise, I would wait outside until the opening act was over. There are plenty of bands I would like to see open up for RUSH mainly: Triumph & Zebra both three piece bands and semi-progressive. Other than that maybe Fates Warning or Saga but honestly, I'd prefer an Evening with RUSH every time. They just have way to many songs and if Geddy isn't comfortable singing some stuff, they could always supplement their setlists with instrumentals or Instrumedleys of older stuff. The R30 Instrumedley was great. This could be great as well: Triumph Yikes! A second rate band who's career was bought by a rich father :) If going to go an older root then it should be Max Webster if would get back together or then just Kim Mitchell
  7. I think he mentioned Psoriasis not sure if that is related to arthritis. Alex said he needed extra time to warm up before a concert because his fingers are usually stiff from Psoriatic Arthritis. As a musician, stiffness is reduced but doest go away and will slow him down with age. I have a feeling (just an opinion) that Geddys hands might be an issue which is why they did so many songs with keys in the first set if CA tour.
  8. Alex I feel will cause the end due to the arthritis in his hands.
  9. With age the vocal cords stretch making it harder and harder to hit the highs. McCartney in his 70's still his the highs but some other notes give trouble. Geddy is having some troubles but it is age. Some surgeries can tighten the cords but as a singer is it worth the chance. Think his hands are more of an issue and I feel why he played more keys this tour. As a bass player years take a bad toll on the hands.
