Anyone want to help me get the video in the post. I tried both the address from the bar, and from the share tab of youtube, but it won't show up.Discuss
I love how everyone thought with Psycho that they were returning to their old sound, while this song feels right at home with The Second Law. I think its alright, but not a great album opener.
-
I should tell everyone, the music on this track IS NOT dubstep. It definitely has traces of EDM, but there is no dubstep here. I feel like everyone is starting to use that word to mean electronic music they don't like.

I would be pissed if they played The Body Electric. I feel really safe that they wont be playing that this tour though.

AHHHH! A Show of Hands can't go next, its way too soon. I may have to change my vote.

By crowd killing of course you mean the audience died and went to rush heaven out of adulation for the 80s fan service. I think it's official LED Rush, Your a good guy and all, but I am the anti-you when it comes to Rush song opinions.
Wasn't there a bunch of Clockwork Oranges tunes in that setlist?... :codger:Yikes. Where is the love for CA, sure the vocals are sh*tty, but you can't beat that setlist (one 70s song is enough for me)(an watch me become outcast by the large majority of rush fans)
That's the only reason to stomach that crowd killing first 6 songs of the first set.

Yup, nothing like those classic songs from the 10's decade. Sorry by the way Narpsberg, I know you and ATWAS go way back. I'm just from a different generation and youth culture. Also, hey hey, whats with putting filth in my digital mouth up there?!

I would say something from the likes of Counterparts, maybe Cold Fire or Double Agent. I have a good feeling that we will be treated well in the 70s and 80s department, so my emotions that will come from rarities like that will be of joy with a big smile, but 90s deep cuts will leave my eyes wide and mouth agape for a second before cheering onward.

Yikes. Where is the love for CA, sure the vocals are spotty, but you can't beat that setlist (one 70s song is enough for me)(an watch me become outcast by the large majority of rush fans)

I think The Big Money and Distant Early Warning are better contenders for this list considering that while New World man was dropped after three tours, only to be brought back one more time, while The Big Money and Distant Early warning have rotated in and out of tours fairly consistently. I am not saying that New World Man is out of the question for the tour (I think it would be good to hear). I just don't think its a tour given.

I'm surprised S&A has not received any votes yet. Sure the sound quality was nice, but the Set List was choppy and very skewed in its diversity, and their performances felt stiff on that one. I would have voted for it, had I not wanted to state my case that I find ATWAS terribly overrated (and it hurts my ears a touch).

Funny thing, I don't know why, but I read Cold Fire as Double Agent (I guess since they are similar tracks from counterparts), and I immediately clicked Virtuality. I then started reading the comments and realised the error of my ways, and promptly deleted then changed my vote.
I love Virtuality (bad lyrics? WHO CARES), but I am a sucker for country style songs by rock bands (so long as they are not slow).

I already know right now that the album I am voting for will remain until the final round. Makes me wonder if I should bother to vote.

I wouldn't mind seeing him play the Grand designs opening line once, hitting a loop pedal, and then carrying on, but the sampling he does is fair enough.
-
I will be receiving a signed Weird Al poster when I go to his concert in August. I also have a limited edition T-Shirt and Lithograph from Panda Bear for pre-ordering Panda Bear meets the Grim Reaper, and I have a limited edition Inflatable of a character from the Dan Deacon Album Gliss Riffer (Along with the limited pressing of Red Vinyl for that album)

Well, through the heartbreak of this poll, I must say these are two very worthy contenders for the top album amongst the general public of Rush Fans. Here's hoping for Permanent Waves to take the title.

Whats wrong with the drill sergeant everyone? Besides the blatant politics they are bringing into the song, I find it to be a great interlude in between each of the song's sections. Also heads up to whoever asked, yes the drill sergeant is in the actual track on the album (I assume) because the track that precedes it is called Drill Sergeant
-
Yes, rather often. His notes for this track are rather good, but he seems to have a habit of dismissing several rising indie bands after they release an album following their breakout success. The biggest one I can note is his review of Panda Bear Vs The Grim Reaper, which he bashed...and was seemingly the only reviewer to do so, because the album received universal acclaim (83 on Metacritic I believe)
-
Oh wow that's amazing. I have always wanted to see Neil leave his kit for a second to play another instrument or something, so that he could join Alex and Geddy on the front line.
-
I quite enjoyed that song's construction, with the sampling of the drill sergeant and all. The riff is rather repetitive though.
-
Voted 2112. Despite my problems with voters of the past rounds, I am proud of the community for not voting Permanent Waves at all so far, The First 80s Album (and second best IMO)
-
I definitely want the Lego Movie Soundtrack, and I also may get the Replacements EP and Reverend Horton Heat Single if funds allow.I always look at the list, and participate if there is something that catches my eye...generally there is :)
Now that the list has been released, is there anything in particular that interests you this time around?

Yeah, but there are only Small and Medium sizes left. I need a large. Here's the list: http://recordstoreday.com/
Also noticed that the 2013 Rush RSD t-shirt is discounted to $10 on the official site.

Nice, I envy you, having access to see TMBG at their monthly stand in Brooklyn, Enjoy I'm Impressed. Thats one song I'm dying to hear at my show.I attempted one record store day to get the Caravan/BU2B single, only to not find it at several stores (probably they did ship many copies to Winnipeg). I bought it online later that day, only to find in disappointment that it had a small hole in it, not a normal big hole on most singles, so I could not put it in my dad's jukebox.
I am going to participate in the festivities this year as my second favorite band They Might Be Giants are playing a free show in Minneapolis to commemorate the day, and Minneapolis happens to be the place I was already conveniently going to see them.
Going to see TMBG in May. Complete performance of 'The Else'.
Which official Rush music video is the best?
