  1. ".after Neil went through his personal tragedies back in the 90's , I didn't think that we'd ever see them release another album as Rush, let alone tour again... At the end of every tour SINCE that time, I walk out of my show(s) thinking that it's the last time I'll see them"

Exactly...so thrilled this wasn't the case, and also that Neil did come back and Rush gave us a lot of new music and tours since that time.

  2. as I posted on another thread

ok so one final thought on this. They have said this is likely the last major tour of this size, what I am thinking is that if they come back around in the spring of 2016, it is still the same tour( I know picking at straws), however, the last graphic is 40+...much like the time machine tour where the clock ran forward at the end instead of backward...well here's hoping anyway.

  3. Well I was lucky to get front row in front of Alex this tour(first time closer than 10 rows), I have been a Geddy and bass fan since the beginning of time, but man seeing Alex play right in front of me really opened my eyes to the the amazing talent, more than ever, wow watching the fingers fly amazing, and also had a good view of Neil, wow. Upped my appreciation of all their talent one thousand fold.

    Song wise

    Camera Eye

Liked Cygnus without the lyrics(and I am a big lyric fan)

2112, I know I know they play this live alot, but being so close was amazing to watch live

Losing It of course, it was already a favorite but so happy I got to see it live it had to make the list.

Many of the other songs I already loved the studio version and was happy to see live or have already seen live and enjoyed.

  4. Eagle, isn't Liam the one that sets up the stuff to sign and packs it back up to send...or do you think they have someone now who does just this?

FWIW the previous tour I sent a bit longer notes and got nothing back or the item but not signed, the one I got signed actually just had a couple lines on it. This tour same it was like 2 lines long, makes me wonder if the longer notes are take too much time...who knows, I really think a lot is luck of the draw.

So do you think the guys ever get a chance to read the notes?

  5. Well Bard you are the one that said he would take a long break from playing the guitar....I didn't say he was going to be touring in front of 20K fans, just that he was quoted as saying how much he loves to play so it is unlikely that he would give it up.

Fwiw some arthritis actually gets better with movement...I don't personally know about what Alex suffers from but in my case my knees feel a lot better on the weeks I move than on the weeks I don't.

  6. Lorriane, I am guessing in recent years as more fans discover that they can do this that the number has crept up to 100 or more(I wouldn't be surprised) and that they sign maybe 20 or 30.

Now I am even more grateful than ever that mine got signed. :)

    True, so so true!

  7. Bluechica, that is so awesome, and signed by all three, your nephew has one awesome aunt.

I agree I think the early ones got lucky this time, I thought for sure that mine would be way to early and end up on the bottom of a box and that they would pull from the ones on top and stop before they got to mine. I guess none of us really knows how it works, but again so glad they DO take the time to do this at all.

Xanadu, it might not have anything to do with what the item was, might just be bad timing.

  8. Kai I called Irvine they said they don't pass along mail to the acts...hope I'm wrong and you get something

Wow I feel extra lucky to have gotten mine back this time. I really think it is just luck

  9. Ha you think you should be pissed I saw 3 shows in 3 different states for the CA tour and got the exact same setlist. No Middletown and no Body Electric but Limelight 3 times man I like that song but already had seen it live.

This tour 2 shows 2 states same setlist no One Little Victory no Distant Early Warning no Red Barchetta. ..... but I did get Losing it one of my favorites so worth the swap out IMHO.

Hey honestly just glad to still see them live and on fire

  10. As much as I would love that they continue to tour...I would rather as a long time Rush fan see them retire on top and happy to have been playing...nobody wants to watch them get old and crotchety on stage....well at least not more than Neil already has. :eyeroll:

  11. I always wondered if they would do a show that was mainly instrumental to save Geddy's voice. After reading the RS article I doubt it though, didn't Alex or someone say that the instrumental heavy songs were tougher?
