  1. QUOTE (Mika @ Oct 22 2012, 12:57 AM)
The 80's Rush was the period I'd had the least familiarity with, and last year I made an effort to get to know these songs better - some I hadn't even heard at all, ever! It's been an amazing time, getting to know them! There are some really good songs throughout the synth period. I'm glad we're being treated to so many on this tour - the boys do a good job with them live!

I'm glad you're liking them, too - I've heard a few kind of negative comments from fans about too much 80's, too little 70's. It's hard to please everyone, of course....

Oh, and you must have loved 'Digital Man' on the Snakes and Arrows tour, if you caught that! I think it actually exceeded the album version!

ETA: This is my last post as a 'Seeker'! smile.gif

Actually this is my first Rush concert, which is why I'm still slightly annoyed at the fact that they're missing out some of the hits such as Limelight and the Trees, but oh well. Maybe next time...if there is a next time... confused13.gif

  2. Okay, I admit. When I first saw the setlist I wasn't thrilled as the synth stuff had never been my favourite period. So I listened to the songs on Chronicles (Red Sector A, the Big money, Manhattan Project and Force Ten) and they grew on me. But now, I love the synth stuff! I recently bought Signals and Grace Under Pressure and love them! I'd probably go as far as to say Signals is one of my favourite Rush albums ever! I can't wait to see the Analog Kid live. Has anyone else experienced this?

  3. What sort of changes are people hoping for in the 2nd leg? I hope they mix up the first set a bit a take out a few of the Power Windows songs in the first set. Not all, but a few as a think it kind of swamps the first set. 2.gif
  4. Hi, I was just wondering, this is my first Rush concert and I've booked seating tickets close to the stage. I wanted to get standing tickets but they were just too expensive and the ones that were cheap were so far away from the stage that it wasn't worth it. So I was just wondering, is it okay for you too stand at a Rush concert or do people who are seated stand often? I'd really like to know, as I'd love to air bass, drum and guitar and rock out given the chance! Thanks in advance! As I say this is my first Rush gig and many of the other gigs I've been to haven't really been rocking out gigs. smile.gif 2.gif
  5. My opinion of the setlist over the past 24 hours has changed, although I'm still not thrilled. After giving Red Sector A, Force Ten, Manhattan Project and the Big Money a listen, I have to say I'm now looking forward to hearing those live. However the other synth stuff in set 1 is still a bit dodgy. But if this news about a second set is true with the inclusion of songs like the Pass, 2112 and Dreamline then I'm a lot happier! But we'll see I have my fingers crossed! I wouldn't even mind if they got rid of Spirit to make way for 2112 but it would be nice if they could get both of them in! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif 2.gif 1022.gif

Being born in 1969 and having GUP & PoW as my 1st 2 Rush albums, this setlist is tailor made for my age group. I'm loving it. Would it be cool if a few other songs made it in......sure, but I'm not gonna cry about missing staple songs. I've seen those enough.

I'll bet the band had the same thought I did.......ANY CASUAL FAN THAT WANTED TO SEE RUSH AND HEAR ALL THE HITS WENT TO THE TIME MACHINE TOUR.

I'm getting pretty God damn wsick of that view!

For some of us this is out first Rush concert, we didn't have a choice if we could go to the TMT, because if we did this wouldn't be our first! Not everyone's been a fan for the past 40 years!

  7. I'm a bit pissed of at the over use of the 80's synth stuff, because I don't really like that stuff. Other than the clockwork Angels Material it takes up about half of the set so I'm really disappointed about that. Theres very little 70s stuff in the setlist which is my favourite era and where the he'll is Limelight?!? This is my first Rush gig and it would be he one where they don't play Limelight! Some stuff I am pleased with is Bravado as thats my favourite Roll the Bones track, Working Man and YYZ but other than that really and apart from the CA stuff, Subdivisions, Far Cry, Tom Sawyer and The Spirit of Radio this is quite a disappointing setlist for me. Hope they change it for next years leg if only to get rid of the over use of Signals in this setlist. I'm sorry but this is a real disappointment for me, the first set is basically a write off if it goes this way. And tell me where 2112 is like we were promised?!?!? And even Jacobs Ladder that some people saw? Heck they didn't even play Losing It! And I don't even like that song!

This upcoming one will be my first!  biggrin.gif  2.gif

It will be the best first Rush concert you'll ever attend. yes.gif

I sure hope so! It's very near my birthday and if they play Xanadu or 2112 or both ( new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif ) then i'll be VERY happy! Although, I probably will see them again after this, to see what it's like without strings!
