  2. "We even talked about that theme (deep tracks); should we do that? And I said, "no, what we do want to celebrate is the high points where we reached the audience."

The general audience or true fan audience?

Are the "true fans" the ones who want to hear the never-been or hardly-ever-been played live obscure songs???

Then I gets 30 show since Signals 1983 doesn't make me fan because I want to hear the epics, the classics, the hard rock 70's, bitchin' 80's, and... some Clockwork.

  3. Sounds like they're playing the hits and audience favorites, the songs that "connected" as NP said. No deep cuts. The song we who have been with them for 30-40 years want to hear.

Fly By Night. - By-Tor and the Snow Dog Bastille Day - Xanadu - The Trees - La Villa

Just play a mix of All the Worlds a Stage and Exit...Stage Left. With some later classics and Clockwork thrown in.

  4. I can't get onto ticketmaster on any device.... I think all gthe RUSH fans killed them.... :)

You're probably locked out for hitting refresh too many times or using two computers from the same IP.

Happened to me for the first time today.

    Lasts 24 hours.

  5. I just hope they skip Working Man to make room for another 70s song.

Many of the options here are great, but I'd love to see a nod to either FoL or The Necromancer...just a short instrumental section would make me delirious.

I would prefer rarely played live songs over ones that used to be in heavy rotation but are not. I may enjoy the latter more in concert, but I have so many versions of those on CD, I'd rather capture something not put on a live album before.

Swapping out Working Man for Fountain of Lamneth would be insanely cool.

Swapping out a Classic for one no one likes, not even RUSH???

    Cool?

  6. Since there are a LOT of people on here that enjoy the 70's more than any other Rush decade (hell, some people on here probably ONLY like the 70's), let's have a little fun. Last tour they went Power Windows happy. While I enjoyed the hell out of that because I love Power Windows, I'm sure they'd be a little more keen on pulling out some other, perhaps older stuff, considering the only tune from the 70's that was played was (go figure) 2112.

What 70's songs do you think they'll play this tour?

Permanent Waves does not count, before anybody tries it.

    Xanadu

    Xanadu

    Xanadu and the Snowgog

    X21ndu12.

  7. I'm furious with myself that I didn't realize that Rush Newsletter subscribers got a pre-sale on the 23rd. I thought it was just VIP Packages that went on sale that day. I want to get floor seats (within 20 rows) and my best bet is to jump on the mobile pre-sale on Thursday for the Chicago show.

My question is, how exactly do these ticket sales work? I've obviously bought tickets to concerts before, but I'm not too familiar with how pre-sales work. Were all of the closest seats sold during the fan pre-sale?? Or do they sell them in blocks, leaving some of the closer seats available for people buying them from the mobile pre-sale on Thursday or even the public sale on Friday?

I want to see Rush really close at least once, and I'm afraid of having to turn to Stubhub and paying way more than face value.

It was VIP tickets that went on sale that day.

Look at this way, you could pay 100.00 and sit right next to or behind a VIP sucker.

  8. Considering that the Clockwork Angels Tour had four slots in the show where songs alternated, and since this will probably be the last major tour for Rush, does anyone think they will have alternators in this set to squeeze in performances of all those gems that still need to be played?

How Many alternator slots do you think there could be, and how many sets (A,B,C,etc) do you think might happen?

I thought it would be great if they had quite a few alternators for rarities from albums that have not gotten a lot of performance space lately. Maybe Alternate the following (Circumstances/The Trees), (Kid Gloves/Between The Wheels), (Prime Mover/Lock And Key), (Show Don't Tell/Chain Lightning), and (Test For Echo/Virtuality(Yeah, I want to hear that one, don't give a damn about Net Boys and Girls))

That's a shit load of rehearsal.

Just play the good songs - Xanadu in its entirety

  9. In fact, since the guys at MSG management bought and renovated the LA Forum, it has quite easily become LA's premiere indoor arena. The acoustics are outstanding, nothing like they used to be at 'The Fabulous Forum.' Saw the Eagles there opening night last year, and then Aerosmith and Slash mid-summer. Had upper bowl seats for both. Sound was friggin' spectacular. Whatever they did to improve sound, worked. And it's back to the classic red. The Forum is a GREAT place to listen to music now.

I like hearing this -- I'm pushing my buddies from '84 to do a meet up in L.A. Only one of us still lives there. Myself and other two would have to fly in from the Midwest and East.

It would be a great way to say good buy and thanks to the band.

  10. I'm treating it as if it might be the last one... I hate to think it, but there are so many things that could happen to prevent one of them from continuing. Since I live overseas, I have to make my concerts count and I will not miss this chance! :)

I agree, I want to remember as being at the top of their game, the Clockwork show was so amazing, I'm sure they can top it—they always do come up with some new things to keep it fresh.

Something about Vital Signs and a newer version of Fly By Night feels like a perfect end to a perfect career. Or if Geddy gets steroids shot into his throat, sing Limelight.

And you know what happens next so let's not even go there.

My point, I just would like to see them go out with class, with style. And not some tired trying to squeeze every last penny out of the fans. I don't mind this tour being a retrospective, but do it with the RUSH touch, similar to R30 without the covers. Or maybe one surprise cover, something we've never heard them play. A new version of Tom Sawyer, that harder version of Fly By Night Alex was musing about. Do something interesting and cool. Do something Rush.

The last two tours blew me away. Both different and awesome in their own way. Just top that, take a bow and let us remember you as the band that never let us down.

Speaking squeezing every penny out of the fans, the first concert I saw way back in 1982 was The Who… on their farewell tour…. Guess who is also touring this summer….

Just do it the way Rush would do it, not the way VanHalen, the Scorpions, the Who….and, oh god, Kiss have been doing it….

  13. They are finishing R40 at the first place I saw them way back in 1983.

Say what you want about the venue, I don't care -- it's about seeing them one last time at the place I saw them first for me.

Hopefully I can make the trip in Aug.
