  1. P.S. Stupid shit people said years ago is of no consequence today.

Does Henley even remember saying it? I doubt it.....unless people keep bringing it up to him....

Hopefully, Rush fans will remind him when he takes the stage. Oh yes they will!!

RUSH folks need to make sure that place is packed with our people.

  2. According to the Ticket "Master", Rush has two gigs on Wed. May 1. You can purchase VIP packages for the 12:00 pm show at the Jake Gaither Gym in Tallahassee, FL, then Rush will shoot on over to Nashville, TN for a 7:30 show at the Bridgestone Arena.

If the Gym still has the hoops up, maybe Pratt will be up for some one-on-one.

This is the sound of my brain.

Then I said, this is the sound of my brain on Don Henley!

    Then I said, 1 2 3 4...

    He's a tortured artist

Used to be in the Eagles

    Now he whines

    Like a wounded beagle

    Poet of despair!

    Pumped up with hot air!

    He's serious, pretentious

    And I just don't care

    Don Henley must die!

Don't let him get back together

    With Glenn Frey!

    Don Henley must die!

    Turn on the TV

    And what did I see?

    This bloated hairy thing

    Winning a Grammy

    Best Rock Vocalist?

    Compared to what?

    But your pseudo-serious

    Crafty Satanic blot

    Don Henley must die!

Put a sharp stick in his eye!

    Don Henley must die!

    Yea yea yea

    Quit playin' that crap

    You're out of the band

    I'm only kidding

    Can't you tell?

    I love his sensitive music

    Idiot poetry, swell

    You and your kind

    Are killing rock and roll

    It's not because you are O L D

It's cause you ain't got no soul!

    Don't be afraid of fun

    Loosen up your ponytail!

Be wild, young, free and dumb

Get your head out of your tail

    Don Henley must die!

Don't let him get back together

    With Glenn Frey!

    Don Henley must die!

Put him in the electric chair

    Watch him fry!

    Don Henley must die

    Don Henley must die

    No Eagles reunion

The same goes for you, Sting!

I hope RUSH covers this great song for the RRHOF induction. Lerxst singing of course.

  4. For those who don't know, some years back, Don Henley pissed on RUSH in a mean spirited and arrogant way in an interview he gave about why the Eagles got back together. He said something like "Why would bands like RUSH regroup, yuck." I guess he was unaware they never broke up.

I'm guessing we now know who is introducing RUSH, Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins. Kind of a let down if you ask me.

I was hoping for Jimmy Page and Roger Waters.

How I Met Your Mother': James Van Der Beek among guest stars for final Robin Sparkles installment

    by Sandra Gonzalez

After the last new episode of How I Met Your Mother, executive producer Craig Thomas promised EW a star-studded fourth and final installment of the Robin Sparkles saga, and today, CBS announced the huge list of expected guest stars.

Scheduled to appear in the Feb. 4 episode are: Alan Thicke, James Van Der Beek, Paul Shaffer, Jason Priestley, Alex Trebek, K. D. Lang, former Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page, Rush frontman Geddy Lee, and former Canadian hockey player Luc Robitaille.

The appearance will mark Thicke’s fourth time making a cameo in a Robin Sparkles-centric episode, and this will be Van Der Beek’s second time on the show. In past episodes, Thicke has played himself while Beek portrayed Simon, Robin’s first boyfriend who also appeared in her “Sandcastles in the Sand” music video. Trebek has also previously appeared on the show.

How I Met Your Mother, which recently was rumored to be returning for a ninth season, returns with new episodes Jan. 14.

    One or two more points.

Geddy is not really a 'Frontman' in the Robert Plant sense.

And who the fark are YOU to call it a 'lame' sitcom. I mean, maybe some RUSH fans actually watch that type of dreck. Whatever floats your boat. Don't be so judgmental. It could be worse, Geddy could be doing a cameo on Game of Thrones and we'd all get glimpse of the real Fender Bass.

  6. A pleasant faced man steps up to greet you

He smiles and says he's pleased to meet you

Beneath his hat the strangeness lies

Take it off, he's got three eyes

For those of you watching the Twilight Zone Marathon on SyFy today, the episode that inspired verse one of The Twilight Zone (2112) just aired, it's called Will The Real Martian Please Stand Up.

The other episode referenced in the song is called Stopover in a Quite Town.

  7. Alex said in the Eddie Trunk interview "discussing some interesting ideas".... (or something like that)

Sounds like Flavor Flav might be joining them for Tom Sawyer remix.

Many diehard rush fans may blow a gasket, however I'll remind you Rush are:

    **polite Canadians

    **good sports

**never afraid to try something new

    **great sense of humor

    **never take themselves too seriously...

I'm guessing the grand finale will involved Heart and Rush playing Led Zeps Rock and Roll. That's the obvious choice since Heart has already covered it and Rush are fans of Led Zep. And the song is a classic. And Neil can solo at the end.

  8. All-Star Jam?

    Yikes.

Heart does a pretty decent version of Led Zeps Rock and Roll.

But other then that, I don't see much overlap in any of the artists playing with RUSH.

Last years jam finale was Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground performed by a good mix of cool musicians.

  9. If they play the Superbowl, then kiss yer butt goodbye, Why?

Because IT'S THE APOCALYPSE!!!!!! :outtahere: :outtahere: :outtahere:

Don't do it :rush: Please don't :scared:

The Apocalypse? Wow thats kinda harsh!

    :fury:

    When I think Rush, I don't think the Superbowl. It's not ugly, It's just.....void.

The 1/2 time show is a pain the ass, actually. It's a half hour for people to eat and go to the bathroom. They should put up a test pattern or a yule log for a half hour and stop wasting everybody's time.

    That makes no sense.

The Super-Bowl has become one of the most watched televised events. It's an event. People watch for the spectacle. It doesn't feel like a RUSH moment, but still, a RUSH-Metallica-Van Halen jam could be cool.

It takes a good half-hour to inject novocain in the linemen's knees and the defensive coaches need to plug the holes. That's Pro-Football—the possibility that the 2nd half could offer a comeback or down to the last play contest.

  10. I'm watching the 2012 Ceremony on HBO On Demand. It looks like two songs, tops.

**The inductee gets an intro with video clips giving a history and importance of the band.

**Then the band takes the stage and says thank you.

**Then the band jams (possibly with other musicians) -- OR other musicians play 2 songs by the band.

e.g. for 2012 the Beastie Boys songs were performed by Kid Rock with a backing group. While the Faces minus Rod Stewart took the stage and performed Stay with Me.

NOTE: Faces actually performed a 3-song set at the ceremony, but only one song made the cut of the HBO show.

  11. Another critic that just or won’t take the time to understand Rush or research what he is writing about

    http://www.latimes.c...,0,548398.story

    This guy fails at failing.

He's one of the two Pop Music Critics that shit on RUSH back when they were nominated.

His writing is as relevant as his music.... wait, he's never produced anything of note. Yep. That sums up his life.

In the video that he put out back when RUSH was nominated, he talked about listening to RUSH back when he was a wee little musician, but started hating them when he found out the 3 chords of a Clash song were easier to play. Learning those three chords made him feel like a man again.

RUSHs complexity and depth hurts his fingers and his head. He's bitter his friends didn't get invited to the cool kids party.

I googled Kraftwork and the page came up blank... Then finally Kraft Cheese.

How does it feel to not be taken seriously? Let's interview this tool and find out.
