Damn. You like Maiden? That's f***ing awesome! I ordered the CD from Amazon, but it's sold out. However, I listened to the first CD via Amazon Prime streaming and it was OK. One of the songs was really long, which was awesome. I can't wait to hear the end of it and attend the next tour.

Societal rules are certainly changing. I'm often amazed at how some people act, react and interact with others. I grew up in a large family of all women and every one of them harped on us younger kids about manners. I went to finishing school and really enjoyed it. I kind of wish more people did this. I see many people staring down at their phones, completely absorbed in their own selves and oblivious to others or what's going on around them. I've seen young people not willing to hold a door for an elder. The list is endless. It's kind of heartbreaking but I think just the way we're moving forward. So minding my own business is bad character? OK

Yeah, you don't realize how vulgar you sound until you meet someone who is cursing as much as you are. If you're an honest person, like me, you gotta ask yourself if you sound like that, and respond honestly. Yes, I do curse too much. My wife and I had this realization, again, when we watched "Swearnet:The Movie" which stars the celebrities of "The trailer park boys" as their own characters. We had to turn it off. I mean, they were cursing just to be cursing.

Portnoy is probably writing his resume right about now. Hehe. Any member changing and they'd go by a different name. Other bands wouldn't do that but Rush doesn't use the standard playbook. My Favorite Headache sounded much more like Rush than Victor did...BUT I didn't think of either project as anything close to Rush. I agree, it wouldn't be Rush and no matter what Geds and Al do, they won't /call/ it Rush. But it would have some sort of supergroup aspect to it. Consider though, Geds and Al wrote all of the music (I'm sure Neil had input, as well as the drum parts) . If they went with the same musical formula, it could sound very much like Rush. But then again, maybe they'd do something similar... maybe more proggy, maybe heavier. Who knows? With a drummer like Mike, they could go in any direction...plus get songwriting out of him. Just speculation. Edit: But then again, for all we know..as much as Portnoy would want to get into Rush, I think that Geds wants to get into The Who. :P Neil could still write the lyrics, too. Hell, he could still lay down the drum tracks. It would just be someone else touring, which is EXACTLY WHAT NEIL HATES.

Yes, I'm getting very depressed, because I didn't get to see them until recently, due to my complete ignorance. I've said this before and I'll say it again: Rush doesn't need to ever "go out of business," "stop touring," or "stop existing." If Peart doesn't want to drum anymore, then find a replacement. Obviously, Lee wants to continue. None of the athletes on your favorite sports team were playing for that team when your father was a kid, and none of the athletes that he saw are on the team that you enjoy, yet, yet everyone still roots for their favorite team and goes to see them play. In fact, that is why sports are so huge and why fans are fanatical. It's tradition. You can't tell me with a straight face that you wouldn't go see Rush tour because the drummer wasn't Peart. The drummer that he(or they) hand pick to replace him will be capable of doing the job.

They should call the planet Neil Pratt, since it's in the constellation Cygnus!

No, I don't kiss my dogs because they are always sniffing each other's anuses all the time. I think it's disgusting. My dogs get plenty of affection. Also, I feed my dogs all the time, but I don't let them eat out of my plate. I think that is disgusting, too. Just my $.02.

Saw one of the coolest things that I've ever seen in my travels. It was rather insignificant, but it was cool to me. So, I'm travelling on VA 91, which runs south, out of Damascus, VA. It runs right next to the Laurel River, which is a really cool mountain river, and the road is curving all over the place parallel with the river. So, every time I pass a mountain river, I'm always looking at the rocks, but this time I see a bird flying, about 2 feet over the top of the water. He's hauling ass, too. What was neat is that I was going the same speed as he was, and he's staying right over the middle of the river: left, right, left, right. I keep driving and rounding curves, and there he is, flying like hell. I wish I could have gotten a video of it, but I was in a state of awe with nature.

Good topic. Here's my personal take: I hope Slacker, Pandora, and Amazon Prime aren't stealing, because I'm guilty as hell. When I find something I like via those sources, then I buy the CD. WHY? Uncompressed music. I can't stand MP3 lack of quality. I hope I'm not stealing, because I'd feel very bad about it. But, honestly, it's just an audio quality issue for me.

That does suck. Sorry to hear this.

Now, I'm pissed off. Jerks.

I parked last night at a vacant lot of a closed plant, next to the place where I'm supposed to deliver my first stop, today. Some dickhead drives up to the truck, starts blowing his horn at 6:30, and asks me if I'm delivering there or at the furniture store, next door, when my trailer is painted up in a scheme that clearly shows that I have mattresses. I'm thinking he was with the furniture place and was going to open up and take delivery. No. He just drove off. Now, I can't go back to sleep.
