A member of the beloved 2004 Red Sox team. RIP Frank.
I thought I recognized that name from watching the Yanks & Sox over the years....what a tragic loss!
RIP!!

Okay, first some background info: Been taking my 87 year old live-in mom in law
to daily radiation treatments since June 23rd as she was diagnosed with
Stage 3 lung cancer. (She's been living with us now for 22+ years since her
horrible car accident which left her severely handicapped and disabled. Guess
who has been taking care of her ever since! Lucky ME! -not really!)
Anyway, For the past two nights, she's told me, "I don't want go to the treatments anymore!".
Really?? First she wanted to go as she didn't want to die, now she wants to stop so the cancer
will spread and certainly kill her! I'm like...whatever!!! Good riddins!! I'm so sick and tired of
dealing with her BS! No more Joan taxi cab nor daily 2 hr work disruptions!
Yes, I'd like to enjoy at least part of the rest of my life, thank you!
Ugghhh!! WTF!!!!

Alex making fun of the kissing lovebirds in front of me at the Grand Rapids show during Tom Sawyer! Absolutely Priceless!! C'mon, I wasn't the only one at the show...where's someone here that was there to back me up on this? I was doing this... :LMAO: :LMAO:

This has to be one of the Dumbest questions ever asked. t-shirts have the 2013 dates
Why would that be sir?
I guess it's not his day! Each leg for 2012 and 2013 has it's own shirts. Don't worry, I know what you're talking about with combined years on one shirt. Not with Rush, but on other bands tours...

Xmac, thanks for yet further affirmation that next week's concert will be another epic for me-- And this album has outdone all others, like I say at each release....but it never decreases being true, and CA is even oodles better than S+A. I've been listening to CA every day for over a year! WOOHOO Cant wait to share my glee.
Hey Hakky! You should fare really well! I did VIP for three out of four shows this leg with quick checkouts and got 1st and 2nd rows Geddy, and a 3rd row Alex! VIP is the way to go if you can afford it!

Shall I tell you all about trying (and half-failing) to clean a carpeted wall with over 25 years of TOBACCO STAINS?
Oh, and let's not forget scrubbing the drop ceiling grid work and replacing 600 sq. ft. of tiles......and then scrubbing the paneled walls....
Hey PM, forget it man, it's NOT coming out...will need to replace the carpet, tiles, curtains and the paneling!! Been there thru that mess!! Replaced the whole shebang in my old rental house as the tenants had to have been walking smokestacks! It stank to the highest heaven!!

I just don't get the backlash. I'm sorry. The serial killer celebrity status thing has been around for hundreds of years, since printed crime pamphlets came out and sensationalized every crime that went on.
He certainly isn't the first murderer/terrorist to be splashed across the front page. There have been literally countless others I can think of in my short life.
I just don't get it. So neutral about this as I can understand both sides. Personally, I just am not outraged.
Hey hobo! I'm glad to hear that you're not outraged like the rest of us, including me! What, RS couldn't find anyone else to put on the cover except this asshole? Give me a F'g break! We need to kill this scumbag real nice slow and tear his limbs off one by one so he can experience what horror his victims did! Then we get to drag his lazy ass behind a truck in Boston! I know some people would pay good $$ to see this event with all funds going to the victims! What'cha think?? (No, I'm NOT nuts, not yet anyway...just suffering from a bad case of PCD! (post concert depression) LOL!!)....

I would really like to pet them, but mom looks like she would bite my face off.
Yep, that's what I was thinking....yikes!!

VIP is the only way to go IMO...Here's what I got this leg via the VIP route: Hershey - Front row Geddy, Chicago (Tinley Park) - Second row Geddy, Grand Rapids - Third row Alex. Was just awesome to be that close! Can't even think of being back 14 rows again, which I had at United Center first leg. Yep, I've become very spoiled!!

I called it!
Right on the $$..Way to go!! :ebert: :ebert:
I knew they wouldn't go far and want to help out aid-wise in some fashion!!

I don't know about all this recording and calling cops. Only the person being abused can decide they've had enough and leave. It's a sad situation and possibly a teaching opportunity if your child witnesses something like this but getting involved to that level seems like a mistake.
Oh, I agree......it's definitely risky to get involved at any level. It could backfire for everyone. Still, it if were a mugging or fist fight between strangers, one doesn't hesitate as much to call the police. I'm just not sure that domestic violence should be ignored as much as it is.
It's not always a matter of "Why doesn't she just leave?" Victims of domestic abuse (especially women), often don't have any means of escape. No family or friends to offer them shelter, no financial means of escape, and the continuous threats and intimidation keep many women from leaving. Many victims suffer from classic "Stockholm syndrome", where they become so dependent on their abusers that they become emotionally attached to them. They sometimes even defend their abusers against criticism and prosecution. The woman in Hobo's story shows strong signs of being in a dysfunctional state of dependence. She may never find the courage to leave the loser...... :(
Those women are trapped in this belief that they are only as good as their abusers tell them they are.
Meaningless apologies and kisses to your boo boos after an incident can fool you into forgiving him.
It is definitely not easy.
Good thing I DIDN'T witness this: I would have went postal on this punk asshole! Maybe I should be scared of these kinds of situations, but due to my rough upbringing, I'm not afraid of people like this; I've been known to get in someone's face and get involved in situations where others just "turn and run". Calling the police only goes so far; perhaps the woman will someday realize that this scumbag is a real piece of shit! It takes only one person to start the change...

I've just listened to the latest Saga release 20/20 and...the thing rocks. There are some great riffs and guitar solos on the album. I love it. Anyone else?
There's new Saga Stuff? Geez, I missed it...
(Been rather busy lately running mom to her daily radiation treatments...) :(

Knowing how nice Rush is, they will probably try their best to move it to Edmonton.
That's the unofficial rumor that I've heard, but who knows...there's no way the show can be held there at this point...way too much damage to repair in a short period of time before the show..

How much for a tub?
Exactly - that's what I want to know. I'm not interested in the contents of the tub, just the tub itself. How much? Do you have any photos of the tub that you can post?
Goobs, all I gotta say is... :LMAO: :LMAO:

Funniest part of the show for me is when this guy and his girlfriend in the front row in front of Alex started kissing when Tom Sawyer started. Alex really got a kick out of it, and he messed with them for most of the first 1/4 of the song. Classic!!!
Is that what was going on? Haha I was in the 5th row at that point and I saw Alex kinda bantering with some people in the front row and he threw them a pick, but I didn't know what exactly they were doing
Yep, they were pretty surprised to look up after their romantic moment and see Alex staring them down and start mocking them, making kissy faces, hugs, etc.. in typical Alex fashion. The sustained opening chords to TS gave him plenty of time to have fun with it!!!
Okay, it's my turn to rant about non-musical show aspects of the GR show I witnessed firsthand!! Actually, the two lovebirds in question were right in front of me in the 2nd row. WTF!! They were sitting for a good part of the of the show, kissing and making out for most of the show. When he went to get drinks, she just sat and was texting on her phone! You could clearly tell she was really bored and uninterested in any of the music. Why the hell did he drag her there in the first place with 2nd row tix? Of course, when they stood up when the favorites were played, they and their male friend blocked my great view of Alex and I was surely pissed! They needed to find a room real bad; she surely didn't pay $$$ for her tix...(other payment arrangements were surely in place). Alex was watching them, mocking them and I was laughing my ass off! I gave him the :boo hiss: sign and he just grinned. Alex twice threw picks at me, as I was rocking out, but they whizzed right by me as I was steaming angry at that point!! In addition to the lovebirds in front of me, some half drunk asshole decided to squeeze himself in between me and the guy standing next to me during intermission. He was screaming and clapping like a madman! He kept thanking Rush...really man, it that necessary??? WTF???? I tolerated it solely because I had a great seat/view in 3rd row and didn't want to start a fight with the moron and get thrown out myself! Never again...assholes beware!! :rage:
You get way too pissed at things you can't control. Your bad experience was almost entirely your fault.
But the drunk interloper is inexcusable. Why didn't you call security. No ticket, no seat.
Don't worry, next time I will without hesitation!!

After the show I told Jeff that Geddy's pants were "delightfully tight", and he shook his head and went "He HAS no butt, you know."
I scowled at him. AmIright, ladies??? ;)
haha oh yeah- right before Carnies started, when the video showed the carousel I yelled "AWHOO!!! FLINT AND STEEL!!!!" and immediately I was embarrassed. Then I looked around and thought "eh, screw it. I'm not the only one." lol.

Hey Hobo! Glad to hear that :rush: knocked your socks off!! What a show! Now the "no more shows" depression starts in for me! LOL!! Had a 4 show run so I can't complain about that!

I got a Brewers season magnet at Cousins back in April, and the bottom has a coupon that says:
FREE SUB
Bring in this magnet at the end of the
Brewers' season and receive a 7 1/2" sub FREE!
You think I can bring it in today?
You could have brought it in a month ago.....
Yah, they're done. It's a shame that players like Segura and Gomez and Aoki go out there everyday and give 110% effort, only to suffer loss after loss. Bad starting pitching, injuries, bad managing and coaching, and bad luck here and there. No team can win when missing its top three sluggers and having the worst starting pitching in the league.
That's why they invented "Next Year"........GO BREWERS!! :haz: :haz:
Yep, really tough to watch this happening; we need a stroke of luck.... :boohoo:

Sorry this was kind of a hit-and-run post... my boyfriend walked in just as I was starting to make this post, so I quickly linked the photo and hit 'reply' and went to a different part of the forum that doesn't involve members of Rush puckering up!
Anyway, I thought you Alex Angels might be interested in seeing the great guitarist in a romantic pose! ;)
(And a bonus Geddy, too!)
Damn! I'm gonna change my name to Stanley! LOL!!!

I approve of this humour. =P
Neil as a priest? lol I kinda like that image!
.....what?
He is a priest, a Priest of Syrinx!
:haz: :guitar:
A Priest of the Temples of Syrinx.
Get it right!
Have you assumed control?
Control is a very variable situation...

What are we going to do while the guys take a well-deserved break to rest after being on the road for the majority of the past six years? I'm gonna be doing this... :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:
(Sorry, I'm not very patient....)
And saving up my $$ so I can see them a lot more next time!
