Where did you hear that? !!!
I know they'll probably play here next year, but I think they will be in Europe too long to come back and do a date here during Summerfest. I could see a them playing here in late summer though.

Late summer next year works for me!! If they skip WI again, I'm gonna fists crying.gif

    who authenticated the autographs?

One thing you'll find here is that people know there are far more forgeries for sale online then legitimate items.

    Aside from that...
you signed up for the forum just so you could post this?

Before I get flamed, let me just lay out some facts.  Rush is my favourite band & probably always will be.  But these ticket prices are absolutely out of control.  For instance, I live near NYC & I am particular about seating when I go to concerts, so if I was to attend the MSG concert in April it would be-

    $200 per tix

    $25 train ride

$0 for cab , I'd walk from GCS

$20 for beer at the garden (hey I don't make these prices!!!)

    $10 random food

Grand total- $255 bucks.  Granted, this is a low estimate, as I would no doubt encounter more charges along the way.  Who the hell can afford this???

    My plan for St. Louis......

$100.00 bucks for a "good enough" ticket

$10.00 bucks for a 12 pack BEFORE the show + my prescription pain meds

$1.00 buck at burger king for a cheeseburger from the value menu

$0.00 dollars at the show for anything

    GRAND TOTAL......

    $111.00 bucks

    I can live with that.

I've figured that I'm gonna spend at least $3,000 on two shows VIP style for tix, hotel, gas, food, and extras this leg. I'm not counting the cost at this point as these are my first two shows for this '80 fan. Hopefully, I can catch them again on the 2nd leg next year. Yep, willing to shell another couple grand....Hey, better late than never!

Seriously, I leave this forum for a day or two, and BAM! All of the hater haters have taken over! What is wrong with you people! Is it so wrong to dislike an album? I am positive that negativity can be a positive thing every once in a while! Positively! And then I see you people try and stamp it out! Really? REALLY?!? I think it's time for you to ask, what would Neil do? Simple as that. What would Neil do?

Even you most fanboyish fanboys (for and nor but or yet so) can agree that Rush has at least one song that could possibly contain a single, barely discernible flaw that may or may not make the song just a tiny bit less enjoyable. Can you? Now expand that a bit and try and imagine how one might dislike an entire album. Can you? No? Okay. Never mind.

But the thing that stands out the most is the sheer hypocrisy. You see people complaining, and what do you do? You complain! I'm sick of your complaining! I'm tired of your complaining! I'm sick and tired of your complaining! I'm actually sick! (Don't worry it's just a cold).

    Stop complaining!

    Thanks,

Anyone that is posting during YYZ or La Villa Strangiato should be beaten to a pulp by a pack of drunken lumberjacks

Why? I hope they don't play either in all honesty! YYZ is very mediocre in my opinion give me something different please!

Mediocre? Are you kidding me? C'mon! They're both awesome songs, but you're entitled to your opinion. I'll be disappointed if they aren't on the setlist.

I'm glad I don't have anything worth stealing, but it would still piss me off if somebody broke into my car just to find out.

Yep, this happened to me when I lived in Brookyln, NY about 20 years ago. They busted out the driver's side window, and when they discovered that there was nothing of value to steal, they firebombed my car!! The entire inside burned, but it didn't explode (Thank God!) Of course, no one saw a thing even though it was parked right on the street!! wtf.gif

One of the many reasons why I don't live there anymore!

Lyrically, his solo album Victor also strikes me as something that doesn't match my idea of Alex.

Outside of the humorous "Shut up, shuttin' up", I was surprised by how dark and angry this album is.  It really kind of turns me off which is why I don't listen to it.

I read he was trying to do a theme about the dark side of love and relationships.  But I wonder if these lyrics are just an academic exercise or does he really harbor these feelings deep down inside.

Awhile back, him and his wife Charlene were going thru a rough patch in their marriage and thus the anger you obviously hear on the record. They been together for quite a long time. They had their first son, Justin in 1970 when Alex was just 17 and they got married in 1975 and then had another son, Adrian (not sure of the year though). Alex is a very emotional person per Geddy from the Rush in Rio Boys in Brazil DVD.

Since Geddy and Alex are covered, I would be obliged to help Neil out. We can't neglect him. Though Geddy has his own special place in my esteem. wub.gif

Except that Neil's a beast. He could easily regenerate himself. Geddy's a quasi-beast. He would slowly regenerate. Al... he would need help. A lot of slow, patient, sensual, sweet sexy therapeutic help. Yeah. A lot. Of that last kind of help.

Why are you even on this board? You're not a Rush fan. If you've hated everything since Signals that's 30 years of dislike for a band whose recording history goes back 38 years. Do yourself a favour, throw out the albums after Signals and close your account here. Once you accept you're not a fan of this band you might stop grumping at people who are.

Couldn't find a mention of this in a search...the clock on the album cover reads 9:12 which is 21:12 on a 24 hour clock. Thought that was really cool nod to the album that really launched them.

It's also Neil's birthday as well!
