Car! Also, I can't believe some of you actually own skullcandies! Aren't we all audiophiles here? Throw that dreck away!  dazed025.gif

The bass with skullcandies is so awesome, really let's you hear Geddy at work. But, I agree obviously their are many many higher quality headphones.

I love the bass on mine. The opening of Territories on full blast damn near blows my eardrums out. THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP...

But for $12, I have no room to complain tongue.gif

Worst Rush song on Rushs worst cd.

I'm with you on the "worst song" part.

This or Red Lenses, but P/G is so damn good that I still consider them great songs that I never skip

  3. I'd shit my pants if they played:

    A Farewell to Kings

    Cygnus X-1

    Hemispheres

    By-Tor

    Slightly more likely to play:

    Something for Nothing

    Bravado

    The Analog Kid

    The Weapon

    Kid Gloves

    The Body Electric

    Prime Mover

    The Enemy Within

    Territories

    Middletown Dreams

The Color of Right (what? tongue.gif)

    Resist

    Cut to the Chase

I'd cry like a baby if they played:

    Afterimage

    Everyday Glory

I will be extremely happy if they play just one of the songs I listed

The most out-of-place person I've seen at a Rush concert was the security douchebag who hasseled me for using the "incorrect" bathroom..... wtf.gif wtf.gif

Jesus Freekin Christ....I'm two rows off the floor! The men's room is right around the corner, and you want me to walk all the way up the stairs and use the toilets up there? f***ing douchebag.....he didn't belong there at all.... bitchslap.gif bitchslap.gif

Oh I've dealt with that kind of security douche too. At the last tour, security was VERY quick to yell at me for taking pics with my phone during TSOR, yet did NOTHING to the drunk guys right behind me who screamed "f**k YOUUUUU" in my ear all night, even after I complained numerous times. Assholes.

But telling you you're using the incorrect restroom?? rofl3.gif Perhaps, since it was a Rush concert the men's restrooms were seriously overpacked, so they had to divert a few guys to other levels? You should've just snuck into the empty women's restroom laugh.gif

As a younger female, I definitely get some looks when I show up in Rush gear and rock out at a show. But this Muslim dude from the Toledo show just does not look like he fit in laugh.gif. At least it appears he was enjoying the show!

This guy goes to multiple Rush shows ever tour because i'm pretty sure i've seen him at a few before.

He's a big fan and as said previously a nice guy. He's a Doctor I believe.

Well, now I feel like an ass tongue.gif. I mean no offense. But you got to admit, he DOES look out of place!

I almost forgot, on my way to the Toledo show, driving through downtown I passed a car with a group of high school aged girls blaring Spirit of Radio and (sorta) singing along. They looked like the "popular" girls from high school too, you know, pretty with bright blonde hair. I never could find them inside the venue though.

FYI. . . if I'm not mistaken, Farid is a Sikh, not a Muslim. Big difference. Be careful about who you stereotype, please.

My apologies. I admit I am somewhat ignorant to the world's religions and how its followers appear/dress.

He's actually a really cool dude and a HUGE fan.

No shit.. do you know him?

(Obviously I'm not trying to bash on race or religion or anything, Rush fans come in all forms!)

Yep. I met him for the first time in '02 and we've become friendly over the years.

That's real cool. All the Rush fans that I've met have always been middle-aged white men. I know one black guy who's "heard" of them; that's it.

Maybe I just like to generalize too much? confused13.gif

I sang along to my favorites that I knew- such as "Limelight", "Freewill", and "Closer to the Heart".

There were some new ones that were brand new to me.

Curiously, it was at the Time Machine concert when I found out the true lyrics to "Tom Sawyer"!!! Previously I had misheard some lines as "Monday Morning" and "No worries".

"riding out the day's events.. NO WORRIES!!"

I guess it kinda fits tongue.gif

  10. I gave it a 10. P/G and Hemispheres are always ranked in my top few favorite albums, kinda funny since it's two completely different styles of music, but I love em both.

I love every song on P/G and can listen to the album over and over, and it's in my car CD player a lot. I never understood the hate for Red Lenses, I love the fact that the song is just a giant showcase for Neil plus a catchy bass line. It's hard to resist the need to air drum when it comes on. Besides, Alex can't have a wicked solo in every song, right? tongue.gif

  11. QUOTE (quickfree @ Apr 27 2012, 02:20 PM)
I don't see them playing B/witch Hunt again. It seems to be showstopper due to the pyro. Obviously this goes to Headlong Flight or another Clockwork Angels song (the title track?) getting some sort of pyro treatment.

Red Barchetta - a long held standard. Say its 50/50 chance it makes this time since we got it on 3 consecutive tours.

Songs from Counterparts, Hold Your Fire or Power Windows.

They dug deep last tour and gave us 2 from CP which was a bit of surprise. I could see some lip service towards Roll The Bones (no songs last tour) and Grace Under Pressure. GUP was completely absent last tour after having at least one song in the setlist since the 96' even though it was just Red Sector A for most of it.

I'm holding out for Afterimage, The Enemy Within or Kid Gloves, though I would be very happy with any GUP song

Yes, you are correct. MusicToday is the fan presale.

Where did you see that the Vegas presale is this Monday?

Somebody posted a topic here not too long ago stating the Vegas presale was on the 30th, but I'm not buying it since it's not up on RIAB yet. Also, in the same thread, he said the presale for Columbus was a few days before what's stated on RIAB. So far in my experience, Ed hasn't been wrong

  13. I said 90%, though it'll probably be 100%. Like others stated, I'm always too busy air drumming, guitaring and bassing to really care about singing biggrin.gif. So, unless they throw in Dog Years (lol) or something else I'm not extremely familiar with, probably 100%
  14. I'd love to hear The Way the Wind Blows, probably my favorite from SA, plus MalNar with an extended jam session, similar to Leave That Thing Alone from TMT biggrin.gif. I wouldn't even be upset if they played Far Cry again, but I hope they don't do more than 2 songs from SA.
  15. QUOTE (Captain Avatar @ Apr 26 2012, 08:23 PM)
At the Time Machine tour I was sitting beside a late teen/early twenty-something guy who leaned over and asked me where I had gotten my Rush shirt (starman). I told him about the Rush backstage club and about TRF. He then began asking me about their albums...which ones I liked the best, etc. I quickly deduced that he barely knew anything about a band he had paid good money to see in concert. I thought...

    wtf.gif

Come to find out, he had only heard YYZ on Rock Band and liked it so much that he "JUST HAD" to see the awesome band that created "that song" in concert. The rest of the night I had a blast watching the look of joy on his face as he discovered, for the first time, so many Rush songs. This was a guy who had been brought up on the lame music most people listen to these days. I envied him, in that he had a whole new world of music to discover...and what a way to discover it!

He was a budding guitarist, and you should've seen the look of disbelief on his face when they played La Villa, as well as Alex's solo at the end of Working Man.

I thought it was awesome that, for the first time, I wasn't sitting next to another late thirties/early forties guy, but, rather, someone young who had just discovered the band.

That's real cool, I bet he was just blown away biggrin.gif

I wish I had the money to discover new favorite bands like that.

  16. CA may hook in some new fans, I think it just depends on how much radio play it gets. The classic rock station around here plays a ton of Rush from Working Man through Subdivisions, but rarely anything post-1982. Spirit of Radio is what got me hooked years ago thanks to radio, and I slowly learned to love their entire discography. But I don't recall any newer songs getting airplay, especially when SnA or Caravan or BU2B were released.

I think it's typical for younger Rush fans, such as myself, to learn their music in sort of a reverse order. First, I listened to the bigger hits from the 80s played on the radio, especially MP and PeW then ventured back in the 70s with 2112 and FBN for example, then moved forward into the late 80s with GuP and PoW, then into the 90s with CP and RTB, and finally into the 2000s (and was very disappointed with VP angry.gif). Now that I've got the entire catalog under my belt, I can really appreciate their newer releases.

TL;DR: CA probably won't bring in many new fans, it'll be the classics that draw their attention.

Wow, great article, I'm currently pursuing a MMJ license here in the states to help control my Epilepsy and treat the painful headaches I still get after right temporal lobe surgery. I've already received a verbal approval from my Dr but he says his office can't help me with the paperwork and that I have to file for an application through the state of Nevada. A copy of my medical records will prove that I have an acceptable condition on the list of conditions MMJ is used to treat.

Hey uhh, wanna meet up at the show in Vegas? nudge nudge, wink wink cool10.gif
