Don't miss understand me, there's no problem. I love Stings, Orchestras and Choirs. Hell , I'm in one and we perform with Orchestra all the time! Anyway, I agree with you. I'm just saying that its going to be something I will have to get used too after getting used to the first! Caravan with Strings, at first its going to sound wierd, then i'll probably end up liking it more than the original!

Yes, if you ask nicely they probably will as they are always trolling this forum.

Neil here! I'd love for us to come back to my hometown, in fact we're in the process of booking a venue in Hamilton for October 16th after our show in Toronto. Message me and I'll get you front row seats!

I was thinking of the CA Tour and began to wonder about Jacobs Ladder being introduced by Will Ferrel as Ron Burgandy taking over the Weatherman position! I thought that would be really funny!

    rofl3.gif

    What do you think?

    confused13.gif

Here's what I think the intro film should be.

    Fade in:

It's the last night of the Clockwork Angles 'Farewell American' tour and Neil is in the middle of his drum solo when his set catches on fire and he spontaneously combusts....

    SMASH CUT TO:

He wakes up a young man, he fell asleep working in his dad's part shop -- the entire RUSH career was a long dream.

    Then...

A corvette pulls up out front....

I think a Barchetta would be more fitting tongue.gif

RTB's only problem with me is the general sound production light and tinny at times but overall a great well written rush classic album some fantastic tracks on there (if not all of em) my personal favs seem to be unpopular tunes with a lot of fans, Face Up Bet your Life Neurotica wheres my thing just a great great album

I actually like RTB the album. It's light and breezy and has great energy. And songs like Face Up, Neurotica, and You Bet Your Life are definitely underrated. It's so different from other Rush albums.... I can't help but love it. Sure, it's Rush-lite, but taken on its own, it's a fun little album.

Not sure how this thread got on this tangent, but count me in the club of thinking RTB is an awesome album

  7. QUOTE (Blue J @ May 6 2012, 07:33 AM)
Three for me, I believe, on the Roll the Bones tour.

There are a couple of other (hippie) bands I've seen much more intensively. Like from July '96 to July '97, I saw the Black Crowes 17 times. (and 49 times in all, from 1992 to the present).

I will be making up some long-overdue time with Rush on the Clockwork Angels tour. I haven't seen a Rush show since Counterparts. I'll be in Columbus, maybe Detroit, and haven't decided on a few others.

What part of Ohio are you from? I'll be at Detroit, Columbus, Indianapolis and Cleveland. Rush party?? biggrin.gif cool10.gif

  8. QUOTE (CrossedSignals @ May 10 2012, 07:54 AM)
Also, it's Distant Early Warninguh. As in 'warning' in the singular. One warning. I've seen many people refer to the song as "Distant Early Warnings", and it really peeves my pet.

Somebody on this forum not too long ago called it Early Distance Warning sarcasm.gif

    Oh, and-

Dude, get a life, you did this poll just to create another set list!

  9. QUOTE (GangsterOnBoats @ May 10 2012, 07:43 AM)
Yes, I enjoyed the r30 medley as well! If they did another one, it would probably be all of the eighties material, which would be great for hearing some Grace Under Pressure stuff.

I'd MUCH rather they play a couple full songs from P/G or PoW than create a medley of them

  10. QUOTE (savagegrace26 @ May 10 2012, 12:35 PM)
I think it's been established before that "world" and "love" are the most used words in Rush lyrics.

Although I'm not going to attempt to list them...

I will attempt this when I'm bored! I think I counted about 72 separate instances of "dream" being used and 61 separate instances of "heart" in our lists. I could be wrong, but I don't feel like counting them again.

  11. QUOTE (Zanadoo @ May 10 2012, 09:25 AM)
Didn't they used to do this for most of their albums? I love listening to old radio premier specials, A Farewell to Kings is great. It's real early, I'm really hoping we get at least something today, though.

That sounds interesting, any idea where I could find a copy or a stream of this?

  12. QUOTE (rushgoober @ May 9 2012, 08:14 AM)
If you really want to talk about an overused word in Rush lyrics, be prepared, because it's used A LOT!

Rock and roll-in's a scream, makin' millions my dream
A wondrous dream came into being
    Fantastic dreams come true
The dreams's gone stale, but still, let hope prevail
We would sit and talk of dreams all night
    Dreams of youth
And a dream must give it flame
    V. Oracle: The Dream
Dream can't you show me the light?
The dream is still in my head
Not fade like all my dreams
    Sweet Jamaican pipe dreams
    Come explore your dreams' creation
No matter what your dreams might be
Try as they might They cannot steal your dreams
VI. The Sphere: A Kind of Dream
Things that I once dreamed of have become reality.
II. To sleep, perchance to dream...
The shifting shafts of shining Weave the fabric of their dreams...
To keep it as new has been his dearest dream.
Race back to the farm, to dream with my uncle at the fireside.
    The universal dream
Will drag the dream into existence.
Nowhere is the dreamer Or the misfit so alone
    The restless dreams of youth
Some will sell their dreams for small desires
And start to dream of somewhere To relax their restless flight
Dances on the edge of his dream
But most of us just dream about The things we'd like to be
Mingles with the bright stuff of dreams
I'm not giving up On implausible dreams-
From dreams to a bowl of dust
Big money make a million dreams
We break the surface tension With our wild kinetic dreams
While their invaders dream of lands they've left behind
    Dreams flow across the heartland
    Dreams transport desires
Dreams transport the ones Who need to get out of town
    They dream in Middletown...
More things than are dreamed about
    Dance and dream like lovers
Now I lay me down in Dreamland
Hold the flame 'til the dream ignites-
A spirit with a vision is a dream with a mission
I walk through their beautiful buildings And I wish I had their dreams
But dreams don't need to have motion
In the dreams of a desert thirst
    dreams are sometimes catching
Dreamers learn to steer by the stars
Dreamers turn to look at the cars
    dreams for self-delusion
I had a dream of a winter garden
I had a dream of the open water
    chase the dreams of merchandise
    Dreamline
Wondering what our dreams might be worth
To leave you stranded in Dreamland
If the dream is won - Though everything is lost
Just another dreamer who was going too far
    Evil as a murderer's dream
In the city where nobody smiles And nobody dreams
    Live and love and dream
    Dream of a Peaceable Kingdom
Dream of a time without war
You could look with pride On your world of dreams
Form a dream to rise to Earthshine
    Did I have a dream?
Or did the dream have me?
    Dream - Temporary madness
Dream - A voice in the wilderness
    Dream - Unconscious revelations
    Another world of dreams appears
Dream - A walk in the wilderness
    Dream - Unconscious recreation
It's a dream for the waking
To the distant dream of the city

Heh. See, I always noticed the word "heart" used a lot

Anthem of the heart and anthem of the mind

    Begging hands and bleeding hearts

Weakening the body and saddening the heart

    Gives my heart no peace

My heart will lie beside you

    Feel, my heart is pounding

See how it sings like a sad heart

Let your heart be the anchor

Withered hearts and cruel, tormented eyes

Can't we find the minds to lead us closer to the heart

    Closer to the heart

    Eyes wide open heart undefended

Headed for the heart of Cygnus

Sound and fury drowns my heart

    In the heart's eternal light

And the hearts of men despaired

IV. Armageddon: The Battle of Heart and Mind

The universe divided as the heart and mind collided

For their hearts were so unclear

To the heart of Cygnus' fearsome force

With the heart and mind united in a single perfect sphere

All this machinery making modern music can still be open-hearted

Or playing from the heart? It's hard for one to know

Different hearts beat on different strings

Caught in the camera eye. I have no heart to lie

A vague sensation quickens in his young and restless heart

A wound that will not heal- A heart that cannot feel

A world of indifference heads and hearts too full

It's the color of your heartbeat

    The heartbreak climb uphill

    Dreams flow across the heartland

Right to the heart of the matter

In the secret wells of emotion buried deep in our hearts

Primitive things stir the hearts of everyone

Tough times demand tough talk demand tough hearts demand tough songs

    Too-tender hearts upon our sleeves

Between these two directions my heart is sometimes torn

The heart of a lonely hunter guards a dangerous frontier

Read the words that touch my heart

Like the heart of the earth would burst

Staring down into a heartless sea

Here I hide in the heart of the city

When my heart still changes overnight

Take heart from earth and weather

    Take heart from the harvest

I hear in the rate of her heart

Holding my hand to my heart

Holding my fist to my racing heart

On a desert highway straight to the heart of the sun

Memory a flickering light left behind in the heartland

My counterpart - my foolish heart

I felt a shadow cross my heart

At the speed of love my heart goes out to you

She said sure, my heart is boundless

The flame at the heart of a pawnbroker's diamond

Send your heartbeat round the world

A gentle hand, a secret touch on the heart

And the secret places of the heart

Memory humming at the heart of a factory town

Memory strumming at the heart of a moving picture

Memory drumming at the heart of an English winter

Memories beating at the heart of an African village

I think your list is longer though tongue.gif

  13. QUOTE (Khan @ May 9 2012, 09:52 AM)
I would sure like to know which seating arrangement is correct.
MT has one layout and TM has another

Every chart I see lists the floor seats from either 1-12 or 1-14 starting with seat 1 all the way stage left. So floor 1 seat 1 would be against the wall Geddy's side, and floor 3 seat 14 would be the opposite wall.

    ..I think that's what you're asking

    QUOTE (SchemingDemon @ May 9 2012, 09:40 AM)
I gave in and bought floor 3 row T. Alex's side, not too bad. How come none of these presales offer tickets on Geddy's side?

I can't believe you found Row T on the floor. That's incredible. I'm still only finding Row Z on Alex's side.

I'm with you. I want some Geddy side tickets.

Yeah and the good part is, I'm seat 3 so I'm towards the middle, not the edge. This is basically the exact same seat I picked up for Detroit. Row 20 isn't too bad, but I was definitely hoping for closer.
