I had no luck with MT Columbus and then I had to leave for work. Of course when I come back nothing is coming up.... Pretty disappointed. Guess I still have a few more options.

I missed the presale myself, but I'm definitely gonna try Wednesday morning. I've had bad luck with Musictoday anyways, so I hope the Live Nation one is better. I gotta get my tickets for Cbus and Indy then biggrin.gif

I'm going to try every presale left... This will be my 3rd time seeing Rush.... so I would really like to snag some preemo tickets this time but VIP seems like a joke to me. I guess I could always try Ticketmaster platinum but I really didn't want to spend a small fortune on tickets. It's just kind of disappointing.

It's too bad you can't get individual Ticketmaster Platinum tickets sad.gif. I usually go to shows by myself

    Being totally serious.
I'm really shocked at the advise to buy a ticket for a concert when you have no job and barely any money.
    Can with get real?
    Yeah...its a Rush concert...and its like totally awesome...but c'mon.

Feed yourself. Get a job. Get stable....then buy a concert ticket! atickhum.gif

I'm still in high school, I live with my parents and will be in a dorm room in Buffalo next year. I'm trying to get a job to save money for college, and I'd like to spend my last $40 for now on Rush. I can afford to make this risk.

I'm almost 21, living with my parents for now, I have a slightly-above minimum wage job, and I'm going to 5 shows this tour (so far). It's very nice to not have to pay rent, though I do pay all my other bills. I saw the opportunity, and I took it. Buying one concert ticket per paycheck doesn't really break me biggrin.gif

It's really no big deal to me to make a few sacrifices (groceries, spending money, etc.) to see Rush on what could very possibly be their last tour. I hope it's not, but you never know.

I mailed my book about a week before the show. I sent it with a prepaid return address envelope . It was returned to me about a week after the show, i really did not believe Neil would sign it, but he did. It does work, good luck 1022.gif
    p.s.
I put Att- Neil Peart / Rush

Wow, is it really that easy? I have to try this biggrin.gif

    But hmm.. what to send..

Not sure how unpopular it is but in my opinion out of 18 studio albums and about 160 songs, there ain't a bad one in the bunch.

Apparently you don't have hair-loss issues or an annoying, reappearing itch laugh.gif

  6. QUOTE (metaldad @ May 4 2012, 10:03 AM)
This is a joke right ?

Well that wasn't my intention, but that's what it appears.

On a somewhat serious note though, I forgot to mention the phrase "handle with kid gloves." I had never heard that used before, so I had to look it up. And ever since, I've been hearing the phrase a LOT. Funny how that is.

Also, this is sort of silly, but the line from Mission "they would likely have gladly exchanged them.." has also sort of altered the way I speak sometimes. I like how the sentenced is structured, so now I find myself using the word 'likely' in a similar fashion.

And what Geddyrulz said about the word norm- I had to write a short essay on social deviance, and I think I used the phrase "deviate from the norm," about 5 or 6 times without even thinking about it biggrin.gif

Geez...whats with all the negativity towards Nobody's Hero? confused13.gif

And please don't say it has anything to do with the "I knew he was different in his sexuality..." line...trust me - i have talked to a handful of people who have expressed their dislike for the song, JUST because of that lyric. Give me a break... eyesre4.gif

It is one of the worst intro lines in the history of rock music, not because of the subject matter, but because of the total lack of tact or creativity.

I like what the song becomes, love the chorus, and yet despise that intro line. Cringe-worthy...

    goodpost.gif

Oh, and this. I sort of ignored Nobody's Hero for a while just because of that intro line. I thought it was just me, to be honest. But I eventually got past that and I enjoy the song now

  8. I gave it a 9. I think it's a very solid album, and I don't usually skip over any tracks, even Speed of Love. But, most of the songs are just solid, nothing really sticks out to me, except Everyday Glory. If it weren't for that song, I would've given the album an 8, but Everyday Glory is just so damn good it bumps it up to a 9.

    I'm indifferent to Jacob's Ladder

    Me too wink.gif

I don't get the hornet-like buzz around that song.... it's a cool album piece but there's a billion other songs I'd rather hear live.

I think it is boring.. It's a decent song, but it doesn't get nearly as many listens by me as most other songs.

    QUOTE (SchemingDemon @ May 3 2012, 06:53 PM)
I like both albums, but I voted SA by a slim margin. VT has better lyrics, but I think SA has better melodies, even if most people think the album is boring. And I hate to be the upteenth person to bring it up, but the production issue with VT has kept me from really enjoying the album.

    edit:
    QUOTE (CrossedSignals)
I realize that VT's production is a big stumbling block that simply prevents many people from enjoying the album. I can respect that. I think that if Rush had given the arrangements more room to breathe, used less overdubbing, and went with a more traditional mix/mastering job, VT would rank in most people's top 10. The songwriting and performances are very strong.

I agree with you here. I bet I could really enjoy the album if it weren't so painful to listen to at times.

I can't wait until we finally get that long-overdue full-album remix!

I thought what they did with OLV and Earthshine on Retrospective 3 was very impressive. Have you heard those remixes?

No I haven't. Where can I find them?

Edit: Youtube is my friend smile.gif

Edited again: Yeah... I'd definitely rate VT higher if all the songs sounded like that. That is so much better. Aren't they working on a re-release of VT anyways?
