Funniest part of the show for me is when this guy and his girlfriend in the front row in front of Alex started kissing when Tom Sawyer started. Alex really got a kick out of it, and he messed with them for most of the first 1/4 of the song. Classic!!!

 

Is that what was going on? Haha I was in the 5th row at that point and I saw Alex kinda bantering with some people in the front row and he threw them a pick, but I didn't know what exactly they were doing

I don't understand "the bad" part. Limelight was played badly? Or are you just simply whining that it was played?

Yeah the sound was a bit ugly, Neil's drums were THUNDERING, and not particularly in a good way. When he started going nuts at the end of Force 10 it actually hurt my ears a bit. There were a couple screw ups like when he sang the wrong lyric in Subdivisions (which I accidentally sung wrong along with him lol) but otherwise it was a great show.

Neil definitely messed up around :58 lol

What's interesting to me is that over the past several tours, they've REALLY changed things up! I think it's great that they are digging into different era's for their setlists, and not just playing the same 15-20 tunes tour after tour! You go to a Kansas show, and it's the same tunes tour after tour, Buffett..same, Chicago...same, ________ same! Very few older bands are playing different stuff on each tour... these guys have mixed it up, and played different things constantly, and you HAVE to give them credit for it!

 

That said...I'm not really a huge fan of this setlist...but I appreciate what they are doing, and enjoyed the shows for what they were...LIVE RUSH shows! (in fact I must have really hated it since I saw them twice!)

 

I LIKE the fact that they are playing a good majority of the new album, I LIKE that they are changing it up...but I'm hoping that the "R40-something" tour gives us some crazy stuff!! (R40-something overture will probably pick up where the R30 overture left off)

 

Bottom line....IT'S RUSH!

 

Makes me wonder if the next tour will be full of songs from the 90s. Will we finally get Cut to the Chase??

I wouldn't mind Limelight being thrown into the set at my show. I was lucky and was able to see Middletown and TBE both last year.

I'm positive that I've read an interview before with Geddy saying that he creates all the vocal melodies himself. I can't cite it though.

They're going to Grand Rapids then to Cincinnati... They should've fit Toledo in there! It's right on the way!
