  1. I seen them on Sept 30th at the Nassau coliseum when I was 16 when they toured in my area on Long Island. It was one on the best shows I can recall seeing back in the day. Why so short, I dont know but they played so much from my favorite albums. Seen them eveytime they are in the area since.
  2. My wife and I were there in section 15, lower bowl. The sound IMHO was perfect from there. Ged sounded great and was right on target as far as I'm concerned. Overall the band was excellant. We also sat with some nice people on both sides of us. It's not to often you can hang with a lot of people and get into some deep discussions about your favorite band.

yeah maybe i mean snakes and arrows took a few listens i dont know i guess i just prefer keyboard music in general i guess

Try this. Play entire CD on Ipod while reading the book at the same time every other day or so.

  4. Great review Owl, I enjoyed reading the opinions of everyone thoughts on this album. In short, Side 1 has always been epic and is in a class all by itself. Something For Nothing IMHO was the strongest song on side 2 with Bagkok and Twilight not too far behind. I always enjoyed the guitar in lessons, I love the tempo of that song. I agree with Owl that Tears did show the wide range the band was capable off.

I guess it was easy for me because I was working while listening. I don't get the chance to do it often, but when I can, I take advantage of it.

I'm reading that alot of people here are kinda giving you crap about this and sayin' they could never hear all of those Rush albums in a row. I say you go for it man!! I too get to listen to my iPod at work sometimes for hours in a row and I love listening to entire catalogs of bands, especially Rush. cool.gif

I don't mind people saying they couldn't listen to RUSH all day, that is their opinion and it's valid, but it does get annoying when people give a new member shyt for being excited about RUSH. This is a RUSH forum for the love of God!

Thanks for all the replies. Doing this gave me a chance to capture the many transitions the band went through over the years. The changes they made in themselves and to their music over the past decades.

I admit, I also think there is a limit, no matter the band.....

I tried a Rush road trip once, had a 14 hour drive from Middle Tennessee to Victoria Texas..decided to listen too all the albums in order along the way (and damn near made it, started S&A, but didn't make it halfway through)... even though I trudged through, I was worn out on it by the time I hit the 90s.

I guess it was easy for me because I was working while listening. I don't get the chance to do it often, but when I can, I take advantage of it.

    Interesting....

The debut album is missing.  As is Power Windows...

and GUP, RTB, TFE, and Feedback. Capt starman, do you not like those albums, or are those the ones you're listening to tomorrow?

I do like thoses albums a lot, just not enough time in the day. I was trying to blend in enough play time to span their whole career. So today was the missing albums plus some of my favorites like 2112, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures.

  9. I've been hearing a lot of Rush on the radio recently so I'm hoping that we are being primed for some new material. Still keeping a lot out on the horizon.

Damn straight! People don't realize how much dedication Rush has to it's live show and how spoiled we really are.

Classic rock bands nowadays and even younger modern bands play short sets, with 2-3 opening bands on the bill. 13-16 songs. Can you imagine if Rush played a set that short? No seriously. Imagine it. DO IT.

Great post, could not have said it better. I don't know to many people that can say their favorite band is still touring and producing new material. They have been my number 1 band since the early 80's. I consider myself lucky that they are still around. 2.gif
