Blackhawk with the sportsmanship award for the year. I guess it's a good thing it's early. ;)
  2. I was like 3, and my dad played "What You're Doing" on the radio and I was hooked.. No clue who the band was, because I was so little. But I listened to that song for like 2 years straight whenever I was in the car. Finally, when I was 5 or 6, I had this little stereo deal, and I played through the whole album and it was all downhill from there.

Faceoffs have to improve. :rage: Hawks 2 Lightning 1

Stupid penalty by Toews. :sigh: Hawks 2 Lightning 2

Hawks lose in the shootout. :eyeroll:

What was the shot tally on that one? 354-20?

  4. So yeah the Stars had a really solid game, even though the powerplay was still horrendous. 2-1 over the Caps, and Ovechkin didn't do much at all after he scored a PP goal early in the game. By the way, Washington is something like 6-11 on the PP this year, which is just f***ing absurd.

Rich Peverley was superb.. Not trying to get my hopes up but if he's a solid player throughout the year that makes the trade look even better, assuming Seguin plays well. Seguin hasn't done much so far, but he did have a really nice assist to Cole that tied the game at 1. Chiasson is continuing to be "red hot", scoring 8 goals in his first 9 NHL games. He scored 6 in 7 games last year before getting hurt against Chicago, and has scored in each of the first two games this season. He doesn't have a wicked shot or superb moves, but he has a crazy knack for finding the right spot at the right time and finishing opportunities that are given to him. Nevertheless, he's an exciting player. The best line tonight was easily the fourth, which is encouraging as well.

Why did I write this paragraph that nobody is going to read or care about? Because i'm taking the week off as the official TRF Dallas Stars reporter, given that the team is going into their bye week. THEY HAVE FIVE DAYS OFF AND IT'S SO STUPID TO BE THIS EARLY. Oh well, it isn't that bad. They get some rest, and I can concentrate on my college classes this week instead of reading Stars blogs in class. :P

At Winnipeg on Friday night. That's a loss. But I will watch anyway here in Lincoln. I bit the bullet on NHL GameCenter for this season for the sole purpose of the games being available on the Xbox, and it is exactly like watching on any other TV. Blackouts haven't been an issue so far, and it's awesome being able to switch from game to game in a crystal clear stream. For some strange reason, we are in the Avalanche market here in Lincoln. I assumed we'd be in the Blues market, given that the local Fox Sports affiliate here is FS-MW, and we do not get Altitude Sports whatsoever. Those will blackout, but I'll find a way to watch.

This has been your "heading-into-the-bye-week" Stars update.

  5. How often is a piece of plexiglass in between the benches loose enough that it can move that much. 99% of the time that plexiglass wouldn't move.

Roy must be a strong boy. My problem is that when he pushed it the first time, and saw it move, he should not have done it again and possibly endanger the well-being of the Anaheim coach.

Boudreau is a big enough dude that he would've done more damage to the glass than would have been done to him. :P
  6. B :dweez: O :dweez: L :dweez: L :dweez: I :dweez: G :cosmo: Hawks 1 Caps 0

Would love to have that power play. :sigh: Hawks 1 Caps 1

    K  A  N  E :martini: Hawks 2 Caps 1

We were asking for it and... :eyeroll: Hawks 2 Caps 2

    S :chickendance: E :chickendance: A :chickendance: B :chickendance: R :chickendance: O :chickendance: O :chickendance: K :) Hawks 3 Caps 2

    This looked like a 5 on 3. :rage: Hawks 3 Caps 3

    Deja-vu. :moon: Caps 4 Hawks 3

    S :sundog: A :sundog: A :sundog: D :madra: Hawks 4 Caps 4

    O :AlienSmiley: D :AlienSmiley: U :AlienSmiley: Y :AlienSmiley: A :kisshug: Hawks 5 Caps 4

    H :atickhum: O :atickhum: S :atickhum: S :atickhum: A :notworthy: Hawks 6 Caps 4

    Hawks win!

:haz: picking up right where we left off. :ebert:

Yeah, but not on the penalty kill. I know the Caps have a great PP but we can't be backing in like that. Gotta give Crawford at least a chance. On the last two kills we were more aggressive and it worked wonders for us.

It will be a confidence boost to kill of the substantial amount of 5 on 3 and basically win the game because of it.

  7. A guy at work gave me glass seats for the Stars game last night since he couldn't go. Never been that close, and it was fantastic to see the NHL uniforms back on the ice, even if it was just preseason Stars and Panthers!
