  1. "Wilderness of mirrors, world of polished steel. Gears and iron chains turn the grinding wheel. I run between the shadows; some are phantom, some are real."

Gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

  2. Sound is really driving me crazy on the Blu-ray, almost a complete lack of low end. Have to crank the bass and sub to get much of any low end. Volume kinda comes and goes as well. I would like to think that by now with the amount of live content that they have that sound issues would have been a thing of the past ? Video quality is excellent however.

Weird, I thought the exact opposite. I had to turn DOWN my sub it was too boomy. Video, I agree, is excellent. I didn't think they cut too fast too often, seemed it was just to match the energy of the current song. How boring would it be if they stayed on one camera angle for the end of Carnies? That's just my opinion.

    Also, EASTER EGG ALERT!!! (Blu-Ray)

I pressed the UP arrow on the "scenes" button in the main menu instead of "enter", and got a video of Alex's 20 dollar joke he made during one of the concerts. It was completely unexpected and I am unaware if anyone has brought this up at all.

  3. MY only qualm with the remix so far is the "Ceiling unlimited; world so wide" vocal over top of the breakdown after the solo/ on top of bass 'diddle'. I personally don't think the rhythm of the words fit with what the bass and drums are doing at that point. If it were me, I would not have done that but it doesn't "ruin" the song. In fact, I firmly believe almost, if not every single minute of this album has been improved greatly by Mr. Bottrill. I hope he mixes Rush's next album.
  4. Just came across this today, apologies if it's been posted before. I knew they were thinking about playing Jacobs Ladder, but I didn't know they were contemplating playing MalNar right before the drum solo!

  5. Ok. So it's basically certain that the Rush show won't go off as planned. They just cancelled Selena Gomez at the venue for Aug 16th. Obviously the Rush show on Jul 24 cannot go ahead. Show is not cancelled officially, but TM no longer lets you purchase tickets to it. I can only hope this is because they are still looking into a possible venue change. Please be Edmonton, Please be Edmonton!!!

I hope not. Edmonton is over 3 hours away from Calgary. Im not from either area, I'm from Eastern Saskatchewan and to add on an additional 6 hours of driving would suck. My hopes is that they can change the venue to somewhere else in Calgary, perhaps the football stadium.

  6. Thankfully Billy Joel is winning the keyboardist vote. That drummer category is lacking Peart.

Because he won last year. I'm glad Bonham is winning. He is AMAZING.

WAS amazing. I dunno, i feel lately he's a bit... stiff...

  7. It was great in Saskatoon! side note: as Alex was coming back onto the stage to start the second half of the song Neil must have went a little longer in his solo than expected because Alex took one step and then froze, shrugged and turned around and went back to the side for about 10-20 seconds more. My friend noticed this and told me about it later, i thought it was funny.
  8. i know some of you feel that the intro was too long for this song and the reprise of the high geddy "wish them welllllll!!!!" was to many too close. I took it upon my self to create a sort of "Radio Edit" of the song. it's about 40 seconds shorter than the original. i was thinking about cutting the outro shorter but it reminded me of the Vital Signs fading outro and thought better to not mess with it.

feel free to download it, the little downward arrow next to the "share" and "add to set" button.

  9. I would have liked the ideas fleshed out a lot more, especially in the scenes after the trek to the Seven Cities of Gold. there really didn't seem to be much of a conflict in the story, and the ending seemed haphazardly put together shoehorning the lyrics and message of Wish them Well and the Garden into one chapter.

I'd like to see it transformed into a film or short TV series, but only if the story is reworked a little bit.

  10. In the video during Territores, there's several instances that a yellow balloon guy floats around and has a QR code on his belly. like this photo:

If anyone knows what a QR code is, then they may be curious like i am as to where it leads. if you don't know what it is, its basically a barcode that you can make yourself and can hide a website URL, or any kind of information in. it's largely used for advertising, and anyone with a smart phone can get a decoder app.

does anybody have a good clear, zoomed in photo of the QR code? i tried with the aforementioned photo on this website

    http://zxing.org/w/decode.jspx

to no avail. it probably doesn't lead to anywhere exciting (maybe a little humorous), but i don't think they would have put that QR code in if it didn't lead anywhere.

  11. how about a full DVD and CD of all 29 songs performed? what i mean is that they take recordings from two nights, A and B, and pick the best performances from each night placing the different songs from set B right after or before their corresponding spots in the set. of course they would have to wear the same clothes each night to avoid continuity issues. tongue.gif

i wouldn't be opposed to a compilation CD where they choose all the songs, but from different shows just for the chance of having a recorded live performance from the show i got to (saskatoon).

The note Present is either an "A" in treble clef or a "D" in the bass clef. If its the latter it well may be Red Sector A since its in D minor. As poined out in the other tread it also may be BU2B2 in A minor.

    2.gif 1022.gif 2.gif

correction; "C" in bass clef; making it not Red Sector A.

the rests at the top of the bars make me think that this may be violin score, with two different parts; one on top and one on bottom. but, it could also be Cello if it's bass clef, or Cello playing really high and its treble clef?

but it's definitely not a D note in bass clef.

There's also a twitter account @The_Neil_Peart where he appears to answering questions.

If it's not him, how is it legal?

you're kidding I hope. Parody accounts are huge on twitter.

This. Also, Neil DOES NOT have a Twitter account. For those of you that think he does check for the blue check mark thing when you search for someone on Twitter. If they do not have the blue check mark then they are not actually that person and it is just a parody account.

it takes a while to get that blue check mark i hope you realize. unless a person specifically works with twitter before they setup an account, there is a process they need to go through to verify after the fact.

Rush's official twiiter @rushtheband does not have a blue check mark, and it is legit.

i doubt Neil himself would ever update a twitter, but his buddy probably will.

if that giant "Twitter Updates" box doesn't satisfy you, i don't know what will wink.gif
