  1. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

About 1/4 of the way through, and like it a lot. As a side note, on the Amazon page where you buy the book, they have an interview with the author and he mentions his favorite band is... 2.gif

  2. A book I read a couple years ago, but was one of my all time favorites, so I thought I'd mention it here, is Replay by Ken Grimwood. The book is about a guy who dies at age 43, but wakes up in his own body at age 18, while retaining his 43 years of memories. If you go to Amazon to check it out, be careful, because in my opinion, their review of the book kind of give some spoilers away. I'm curious if anyone else here read it, and if so, what they thought of it.

The only thing I know about this new version is that it has Andy Serkis (LOTR) and Tom Felton (Draco from Harry Potter) in it. Or have I read that wrong?

You are correct, they are both in the movie.

I found this movie to be a lot better than I expected. Way, way better than the 2001 Tim Burton remake. This was more of a prequel/reboot. Yes, the apes are all CGI'd, but that didn't bother me, I thought they were fairly realistic. I thought the movie was very good.

  5. Curious if anybody read the article about Breaking Bad in the newest issue (dated 8/18/11) of Rolling Stone magazine? One of the main themes of the article was comparing Breaking Bad to some other highly regarded shows of the past few years, such as, The Sopranos, The Wire, Friday Night Lights, Deadwood and Mad Men. I think the best way to get to my point of why I'm posting this here is to give you a direct quote from the article....

" If The Sopranos was the Stones, and The Wire was Zeppelin, Breaking Bad is Rush. Walter White is just a geek trapped in a conform-or-be-cast-out world, riding on through the friction of the day. But he chooses to exercise his free will - if only by cooking up his private recipe for insanely strong blue meth "

  6. I don't know why, but Tom Sawyer has never been one of my favs....I'm not saying it's a bad song, but if I was going to rank my favorite Rush songs, TS would probably be about 60. I never understood how it came to be their "most famous" song. IMO, their signature song should be Limelight, Freewill or TSOR. That being said, I'm glad Red Barchetta is winning, it's one of my all time favorites, and no matter how many times I hear it, I never get tired of it. But I had to vote for VS, my favorite Rush song as of right now....but check back in a few weeks.
