  1. Well, I really like it. The video doesn't enter into it for me, except that I like that it was directed by Mark Mothersbaugh of DEVO.

This makes complete sense, then. I was thinking the video reminded me of a bad Cars video from the early 80's or Whip It.

  2. If the lyrics to the song are pretty straightforward, what the heck does this mean?

In this one of many possible worlds, all for the best, or some bizarre test?

It is what it is — and whatever

This is the most nonsensical piece of something somewhere.

  3. Did anyone like Superconductor before they saw the video? It came up on my iPod the other day and I remembered back to when Presto first came out and I really loved it due to it being one of the rockier tunes on the album.

Then the images of the video pop into my head and I still just can't passed it - that girl in the crowd rocking out and the contortionist...argh.

  4. I was down in row 9 on Geddys side. It was lively enough. I just think only true fans really appreciate the set list. If I went to some show say for Journey, I would want to hear all their hits. I would be pissed if they played all deep cuts and their entire new album.

You could feel the crowd ebb and flow based on the song. I think they are lucky they played limelight to keep the crowd mildly interested during the first set. I was pumped for grand designs but I bet 80% of the people there had never heard it and we're screaming PLAY FREEWILL.

  5. Here's another semi related question for you J2112YYZ since you seem to be somewhat familiar with the venue. Do you have any idea how the row numbering goes across the floor? ie - Do they start numbering 1 from the left side of the row, from the outside, etc?

I am section 2 row 9 seat 13 and am just curious if I am along the wall or closer to the middle.

Just reaching in case you might know.

    Thanks.

  6. Well - my 10 year old daughter loves it. Instead of reading Nancy Drew, she has been listening to CA and reading the lyircs each night in bed.

I don't think the enthusiasm is there from her friends, though. She is going to grow up to be the nerdy/cool chick that likes interesting music instead of the same old pop crap as everybody else.

  7. I've heard it on the Boneyard. I think that is the same as Octane.

Classic Vinyl and Classic Rewind play a lot of older Rush.

Does anybody get super excited when they hear Rush on the radio? I don't know why I do still...just like a kid.

  8. That's funny - Lessons is one of my favorite songs...the fade out at the end is awesome...

I, too, think all the songs on CA are incredible. I like my Rush a little heavier, so I do skip Halo Effect and the Garden a lot, but they are great songs.

  9. I think this is is one of the coolest things I have ever heard. I am sure someone will flame this, but I really am not sure that there has ever been an effect like that before.

I love Carnies - especially that Chorus.

  10. I didn't really care for this song that much at first. The chorus was kind of hokey to me. But man, the parts where the three of them kick in and start jamming are just unreal. I can't get enough now.

  11. I know he is always killing the bass, but I can't think of a stronger album for him. It just seems that every song has these killer bass lines all the way through. His bass is mixed in there perfectly with Alex, so they both seem like they are lead.
  12. I like the crazy guitar echo effect that Alex is using during the chorus. I am not sure if I have ever heard a sound quite like it.

I really like this song - once I understood the words, I like it a lot more.
