QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Oct 3 2004, 08:29 AM) QUOTE (Rhiannon_of_Rivendell @ Oct 3 2004, 01:28 AM) QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Sep 30 2004, 11:09 PM)QUOTE (Rhiannon_of_Rivendell @ Sep 30 2004, 02:28 PM) <snip> Sister-Mine, should I post some of the Dad & his Maplecaster? oh yes, post mine and daddy's guitter we made it ourselves I luv that guitar like it was me own! OK, when I get back to school Monday, I will try & locate and make web-friendly some shots of the Maplecaster, Disastercaster & MY baby, the 175 In really need to see what a Disastercaster looks like... There's a long story behind that....see when my dad was making that guitar, he had many mishaps. The first thing that happened, after he had stained the body )of course), was he accidentally dropped a screwdriver on the body of the guitar, and it made a slight depression in the wood. Now, my father being the perfectionist that he is, had to sand down that spot on the body to take the depression out, then restain that area, match it up perfectly, then go and refinish the whole thing....sigh....it was a long process. Then when he was putting on the backplate, he drilled the hole for one of the screws too deep, and had to put a bit of dowel into the hole to fill it up...then when he was filing the graphite nut, he filed down too far on (i think) 3 of them....finally the fourth was good. So he dubbed that one the DisasterCaster and so it has been ever since, and you will often hear him say that you will never hear a sweeter sounding guitar in the world

He'll show you all his preferences, and share his Rushian references. He spits in deep disdain at the eye of the hurricane. He's prepard to live the dream now the new job's come onstream. He's just turned 41 but the best has yet to come as the Time Lords turn the page next year he'll be the perfect age. Can he kick it? Of course he can!! Man! Among your strengths, a poet and a rappah! Are there any other talents from us that you're hiding? Do we need to search for them much harder? Really no, as to this thread you've been applying.. All these things we've seen and rejoiced therein Silently laughed or rolled on the floor from Never once have you strayed from rhythmic pairings Ever constantly rhyming, metered like a drum All we can do is read and keep staring! Carefree are your words and your style is wide Hats off to you, Madra, we are all quite impressed To all of your talents, they must be exemplified And never be buried, nor called second best!

  4. QUOTE (Moonraker @ Oct 2 2004, 09:19 PM) I dunno, maybe it was just me, but that second highlander guy seemed a little wierd looking to me. I dunno how to explain it, but hes not as cool as Lambert was. darlin Mooneh, Lambert was by far the best Highlander I will never dispute that...."There can be only one!"....but Adrian Paul is just a very fine representation of a "scotsman" and my sister was just lovingly showing us Sistahs his "attributes"
  5. QUOTE (Alsgalpal @ Oct 2 2004, 03:33 PM) He looks a lot like my best friend in Toronto.... HOLY FREAKING TAPDANCING COW!!!!! Now, my dear sistahs, is a feast for the eyes..... really, my dear?? that would explain part of our conversation last night I am going to have to see some photographs, tho I will have to make sure to be tied into my chair if he looks anything like Adrian Paul or I just may fall out of it again

  8. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Sep 30 2004, 08:23 PM)I want to pay a tribute to Launchpad67a, whose collage of sound and images has really made my day. A labour of love reflecting a man of impeccable taste, with a deep reservoir of talent that's not let go to waste. My words are scarcely adequate to convey my admiration, my senses are still reeling from his artistic creation. From Red Sector A to Red Lenses, the links are quite beguiling, all I can say is Hip Hip Horray - Irish eyes are smiling Lovely accolades you have given, my friend And yet, I have to give more Unable to contain the joy that I pen Not sure how to explain why I fell on the floor! Choosing his pictures and soundbites so wisely He put them together ever so well Placing them in a pattern so nicely And we watch the sequences where we dwell Drums and bass and guitar playing galore 7 times over I've watched it now 6 times I had to watch it to make it 1 more And yet I think theres more watching in store!!

QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Sep 30 2004, 04:29 AM) QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Sep 30 2004, 05:32 AM) Generous amounts of accolades we have herein Elevating my spirit from within Doggedly pursuing my one true desire Do I dare name what lights that fire? Yet I dont think I need bring light upon his name Love shines brighter than a bonfire's flame Eternal grace bespoken through hands and voice Elevates my soul, and wills my heart to rejoice ...how was that Madra? My desk resonates with the echoes of new applause!! Hooray! Okay, now one for Mr Nep Never have I read such inspiring lyrics Ever penned from such talented hands In truth it totally elevates my spirit Longingly I wish I'd the talent of that man Peering into his marvelous ingenuity Effervescence gives way to splendour Artform that bursts forth in waves of lament Restless churning waves that render Those of us completely and utterly content ...that was a tough one, being 9 lines and all

  14. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Sep 28 2004, 01:14 PM) Lately a quite welcome trend has emerged upon this board, a thread of verse intended to inspire the posting hoard. Knees are bent in homage to Hudson's poetess ever rapt in wordplay, each effort a success. Secretely of course, it's a ploy that she will use, in making Mr Lee an offer he certaintly can't refuse. Doubtless when he reads her verse, he certainly will succomb, effortlessly then, our laureate will have him under her thumb. Many here will wonder "Of whom does he speak?", all I'll say is closely look if the truth is what you seek. In verse, as in all parts of life, the answers are concealed, don't hesitate to investigate, all will be revealed. Endless is the search, just like her ardent love for Geddy, never giving up her quest, our heroine's always ready. Madra, Madra, thank you my dear If my words don't show him, then yours will quite clear And so "Mr. Lee", if my words do so inspire To spark within you such an eternal fire And should this be one of my dreams brought right to life I dont think I'd long remain my husbands lady wife Breaking from fantasy long enough to say Thank you for brightening this otherwise dismal day Friends you are dear and I'd not want to lose of you any And I long for the day when we can gather and tip back many!
  15. On and on the rhymes come rolling along and so we repeat them, just like the words of a song. Tis glad I am we have all found such pleasure in penning these verses of rhyme and measure To bring us back to the topic of this poetry thread I must (yes must) return to my Ged Who's talented bass lines and vocals so wonderful Make my heart beat overtime and my own hands tremble Its not simply his face that has this affect on me But his talent and musicianship (that most* women don't see) It's all of these things and yet it is more But yet tis a dream, one held in great store For I know he loves another and yes, so do I But in dreams we can have each other, and so in dreams I can fly *Disclaimer I say most in the sense that most women (who arent members of this board ) dont see beyond his looks to see what a wonderful man and musician he truly is

  20. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Sep 27 2004, 04:30 AM) I'm rather proud of my debut in this thread, but there is a special way in which it should be read. Just take the first letter of every line, and read them going down, then the answer you'll find. Very creative, Madra my dear! As I read that the answer became clear Our wondrous board name on glorious display in the words of your poem, hidden in sway
