  1. QUOTE (RushRevisited @ Sep 20 2004, 09:37 AM) QUOTE (faultline @ Sep 20 2004, 12:26 AM) I guess it is all subjective, but everyone is reading this as "Their favorite song" , rather than "Best song"...I am guilty of this too for other albums. But....2112 is by far the best song, which I voted for. My favorite song right now is Tears. It was, and is an unlikely Rush song. It is quieter than most..relationship oriented..and it is a very lovely song...structured quite nicely. I agree Faultline. Tears is an excellent song, one I have to be inthe right mood for. 2112 is of course an icon for RUsh fans though and also a great song. I agree While 2112 has always been my fav off this album, I've always loved Tears just as much (and so it makes it very hard to vote)...one of the first Rush songs I learned how to play on my guitar actually
  2. This is also one of my favorite albums (it's kinda like Lays, you cant pick just one and I love all the songs, but, as to my favorite song? C'mon peeps, you can guess and it really isn't that hard.... LOL!!
  3. QUOTE (neilpeart_gal @ Sep 22 2004, 03:36 PM) Heh heh don't I know it!!! I keep asking myself, 'What have I done in this life that has been possibly good enough to deserve him????' SIGH The Eternal Love of Rush brought you together....that's enough And it's wicked, wicked cool, too I'm so happy for the two of you
  4. QUOTE (neilpeart_gal @ Sep 22 2004, 02:22 PM) Ask and ye shall receive!! He's got his snake out on this one. SIGH http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/neilpeart_gal/MenFrodo4.jpg Oh my, NPG....you are certainly one helluva luckeh woman!!!
  5. QUOTE (Alsgalpal @ Sep 22 2004, 12:03 AM) You all rock!!!! Why thank you, thank you, my friend AGP For your kindest words and generosity In this we do, we try to do well Rhyming at times, is not easy to tell These verses we make, inspired by Give us that feeling of a "Secret Touch" That we may tap into the mind of the lyrical wonder The one known as The Professor, the God of Thunder Try as we might, we may never succeed To come close to the perfection that he has percieved We will continue, in this, our lyrical rant Just as Lerxst does, in his usual pant To you, men of we give great thanks to thee For the many years of music, to make us feel free So come all you talents, come all you wannabe's For this thread will not die if we keep adding our piece Let us wax poetic on the band we all admire And keep this thread going, the lyrics on fire!!
  6. I love most of the songs on this album, but Rivendell has always held a special place in my heart for a couple of reasons.... 1. It seems like it was almost written for my family farm in NH...which is Home to me 2. After my sis got bit by a dog, her ability to play the guitar waned much. She has surgery done, and by that time Father's Day was coming around....she and I worked on it, she learned the guitar part, I learned the words....and we played it for him...and he cried tears of joy, because he was so happy to see his eldest daughter playing the instrument he (and we all) love SO much. 3. (Like Phoenix) I am a big Tolkein fan, and have loved that song since the first time I heard it Still think it should have been in The Fellowship So there you have it, my many reasons for loving the song Rivendell
  7. As this is the "Before Neil Lyrics", and being the Ged-A-Holic that you all know me as now (especially RoR, GG, BSG, AGP & Testicles ), i had to go with In the Mood....just something about the lyrics...and hearing Ged sing 'em Yummeh I do post more non-ged related things, but this just had to be said!! LOL
  8. I had a hard time deciding as well! Theres many great songs on that disc - The Pass, Show Dont Tell, Presto, Superconductor....But I've always loved Available Light....just a wonderful (and yes, BSG, very emotional song

  12. QUOTE (BSG @ Sep 21 2004, 11:26 PM) We've created a monster, that much is true But we'll go with the flow, as we always do So with that in mind, let me just say I'm sharing with all my good, busy day I'll skip past the boring, get on to the fluff Work bores me so, you don't need that stuff Move on to the evening, when shadows fell And all in my house was good and well Travis did homework, while Emily played (She's only 5 now, and can't be waylaid) Next year at this time she will be in school And someday soon make the boys act a fool For now she's at home, and blissfully so Soon enough, soon enough, she must surely go So now back to my boy, who sits in his room Working math problems, and fighting the gloom Just one more page, and finished you'll be And then we can talk of subjects many And tell me once more, what is it you're hummin'? It sounds quite familiar, I feel the name comin' That's Ludwig Van, as sure as can be And are you aware, it's his best symphony? Hot lashings of "Joy", Or should I say "nine"? Your music teach' taught a lesson divine For this my son, is surely the peak Of that which we love, and music fans seek The high point of man, enclosed in CD Much better than watching that lousy TV So off to bed, scoot! Get under your cover I'll culture you yet, my Beethoven lover! Bravo BSG, Bravo Very nicely done
  13. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Sep 21 2004, 04:44 PM) I find myself reading down to see what the last lines are going to be... I find myself checking in every once in awhile to see what else has been stated, This is wonderful, but my dear, what in the world have we created?!

  16. QUOTE (kamrahai @ Sep 6 2004, 10:39 PM) I had to go with Crossroads on this one based on the wicked performance in the encore this tour. Really like Heart Full of Soul though too you and I think a lot alike kam in more ways than just rush, apparantly too (plus you're from the same city in the Great White North that my two best friends are from, so that's cool as well!) I too was torn between Heart and Crossroads....I love their rendition of Crossroads (as I've always been an Eric Clapton fan, and thereby Cream as well), but Heart Full of Soul is just that, so full of soul.... And once I heard them do it acoustic live, i was in luv Just a great, great song
  17. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Sep 21 2004, 03:54 AM) Draconator (Counterparts supremo Ken) is fond of pointing out that if you look at a thread, anything after the 10th post will bear no relation to the title of the thread. Can I just remind you this thread started with an enquiry about how the letter "Z" is pronounced in Canada "The rhyming skills on this board are showing the interest in iambic pentamater is growing. The question is where do we take it from here, what poetic direction should we choose when we steer?. Should this awesome expression of verbosity be binned, or should the evidence of our verbosity be pinned?". LOL Madra you are very good at rhyming And Draconator was right about the subject declining but I think that we have found a right good way to interact and be creative, and very socialable today So as to this awesome expression of verbosity being binned? I say, to that, Hell NO!, this is where our stage begins So please, if you must, go right ahead and pin This fabu thread of creativity, my Rush kith and kin
  18. QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Sep 20 2004, 04:50 PM) QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Sep 20 2004, 01:54 PM) Presto If I could wave my magic wand I'd make everything all right well, slaine, i don't know any rush songs that have Quidditch lyrics in them lol! I just went with the next best guess If this hasnt been guessed by tomorrows time then perhaps I will have the brain power to make another guess, but as its almost 2:00 am, i am ready to retire for the night
  19. 21. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Sep 20 2004, 08:46 PM) Oh glorious mods, you have to see we need a forum for poetry Where BSG can quote sketches about Spam while AlsGalPal eats her green eggs and ham. Where movie buff Jack can approach from the right while Indica rhymes off 98 posts a night. Lakeside Maiden and Ghost Girl can be our instructors, and pretty soon we'll all be Superconductors. Dear Lord, what have we started???? madra, that's great!! this is fun...i can't believe what we've begun GG (and BSG Oh goddess...that's even a rhyme! and i totally didnt intend it to be!!
