  1. Just some things I noticed.

Morpheus' ship - The Nebuchadnezzar (book of Daniel)

Nebuchadnezzar was the king of Babylon who had the dream that Daniel

interpreted. This dream was the first in a series of dreams that prophesy of coming world empires culminating in a last empire that is

"different" from any the world has ever known.

The ship's model number is Mark III no.11

This is seen on the plaque also. If you look up Mark 3:11 in the Bible

it says "And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him,

and cried, saying, You are the Son of God."

Neo is "The One" (same letters btw) that "the oracle" said would come

and be able to defeat the "agents".

Matrix is an old word for womb.

Jesus said to see the kingdom of God you must be born again.

And Neo was "born again" after he took the red pill. Then he saw that

he had been living a deception, reality began once he was flushed out.

    Zion - God's holy city

    Trinity

Neo appears to be hanging on a cross at the end of Revolutions.

He is the sacrifice that brings peace between man and God?

Oh well, that's all I can think of. Maybe eyes crazy. wacko.gif

Hope ya'll give me some feedback.

  2. Just wondering if anyone's seen this?

It's a 3 part original mini series by the Sci Fi network.

Saw most of it the other night, thought it was well done.

It's based on the Wiz. of OZ

In it the good witch and bad witch are sisters.

Remember the flying monkey's? In this they're tatoos on the witch's

chest and come to life as they fly off. Thought that was pretty cool.

This may not be new as I think it is because seems like I remember

some radio DJ talking about it about a year ago. Maybe not. confused13.gif

Either way, it shows in my area on Direct TV this Sunday Dec 9.

  3. Lots of good picks so far.

except for The Wicker Man. (interesting movie, but once is plenty)

    BladeRunner never gets old

    Forest Gump - a masterpiece

    Full Metal Jacket - it's a "killer"

Office Space - Milton and his stapler rofl3.gif

    i'll add :

Jeremiah Johnson and Charlie Brown specials (Snoopy the ace) smile.gif

I think people should always give up on marriages after it doesn't work after the first five years. I believe in one true love.

    I don't care.

    I've never been married.

    I've never given up.

  5. These people were pushed out those windows by intense heat.

They were forced to chose to do that by unsufferable suffering.

If I were on that edge of mortality, my highest hope would be

to consider myself right where God wanted me to be and then jump expecting a miracle throughout my clumsy fall.

My faith is not strong enough to say I would achieve that,

but my faith teaches me God would be there to catch me.

This helped me examine myself and put myself in another's shoes.

    Good post. Thanks.

  6. I've been interested in language and communication 4 quite awhile. I think this thread has brought up an interesting topic.

How much do you think our vocabulary influences the way we look at others, at ourselves, and different cultures in general?

How much do new words or phrases change how societies think?

    Can u give examples?

Here is a not-so-classic game. Ok, it's actually brand new and I made it up. The basics - try to post in here, making as few grammatical and spelling errors as possible. Those who post the most, point out the most errors, and make the fewest errors do the best. Get picky, point out everything, no matter how extremely small. Yes, sorry, this has nothing to do with Rush or music! It's still fun, though! This is one word game that I'm actually a little good at.   cool.gif Good luck!

So, how many errors were in there?

Better English grammer would be the following:

This is one word game at which I am somewhat accomplished.

  8. It's not a long song. But as Dig's sig. says, "Perfection is achieved when there's nothing left to take away."

You can't take a word out of this song.

It's very clear to me that Test For Echo is the most underated and underappreciated of Rush releases.I contend that 10-15 years from now T4E will be held in much higher regard.
Todays' T4E is akin to Yesteryears COS which has become much more prominent with time.
Taken in it's entirety,I believe T4E has as much to offer as any Rush release and it is my overall favorite, and they have all been favorites at one time or another.
T4E has and will stand the test of time for the rest of time.

I've always loved tha album, mainly because i like the first 2 songs, but it is a very good one, and you're right, it is underrated alot of times.

T4E is a great album. I think I ranked it 4th behind SIGNALS (me fav.),

A FAREWELL TO KINGS, and HEMISPHERES

I think the only song on that album that doesn't do it for me is Carve Away the Stone. Other than that, I find it as soild as a rock.

For decades, two heroic statues, one male and one female, faced each other in a city park, until one day an angel came down from heaven. "You've been such exemplary statues," he announced to them, "I'm going to give you a special gift. I'm going to bring you both to life for 30 minutes, during which you can do anything you want." And with a clap of his hands, the angel brought the statues to life. They approached each other a bit shyly, but soon dashed for the bushes. Soon, there was lots of deal of giggling, laughter, and shaking of branches. Fifteen minutes later, the two statues emerged from the bushes, wide grins on their faces. "You still have 15 more minutes," said the angel, winking at them. Grinning even wider, the female statue turned to the male statue and said, "Great! Only this time you hold the pigeon down, and I'll go on its head."

rofl3.gif laugh.gif Excellent! Ya got me.

    Never in a million years.

I don't believe I could ever go in my mind from sex to pigeons. tongue.gif

Explanation: Stars are battling gas and dust in the Lagoon Nebula but the photographers are winning. Also known as M8, this photogenic nebula is visible even without binoculars towards the constellation of Sagittarius. The energetic processes of star formation create not only the colors but the chaos. The red-glowing gas results from high-energy starlight striking interstellar hydrogen gas. The dark dust filaments that lace M8 were created in the atmospheres of cool giant stars and in the debris from supernovae explosions. This spectacular portion of the Lagoon Nebula was created in scientifically-assigned colors from light emitted in very specific colors by hydrogen, silicon, and oxygen. The light from M8 we see today left about 5000 years ago. Light takes about 50 years to cross this section of M8.

ohmy.gif That is absolutely stunning! ohmy.gif

So these colors are what we would actually see if we where there?

    If true, that's amazing.

A man escapes from prison where he has been for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed.

He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While he's in there, the husband tells his wife:

"Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck." If he wants sex, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is probably very dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll kill us. Be strong, honey. I love you."

To which his wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He wwas whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me if we had any vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you too!!"
