Out of curiosity, did anyone here attend Rush's first show on the Vapor Trails tour in 2002? If so, I envy you on 2112 levels.

 

I was only eight years old, and didn't know anything about such an exceptional band as Rush. My musical taste back then cannot even compare to what it is now. I didn't even go to my first Rush show until just this year. Why wasn't I born sooner?!

 

What can you lucky concert-goers tell about the show, specifically? I imagine that the emotions were very intense among the audience, given that they were at the first Rush show in five years after a hiatus where there was no certainty that the band would ever return. Emotions must also have been intense among Geddy, Alex and Neil, given the events in the band's and Neil's lives before this point. Geddy mentions in Beyond the Lighted Stage that he kept checking on Neil, to make sure that Neil was smiling and laughing throughout the show.

 

I recently read somewhere that Alex tossed one of his guitar picks to a woman in a wheelchair; he had to get a security guard's attention by kicking the security guard's back in order to get it to her. That was so sweet of Alex.

This was made using watercolours. I haven't painted in several years, so I was surprised by how well this turned out.

 

His hair was the most difficult part; based on the picture, there were light and dark areas where he was under direct sunlight. But it's such gorgeous hair.

 

Again, I know that he's Jewish, but it was still so much fun to create. Hopefully we Geddy girls can share him.

I'm primarily a Geddy girl, but wow, that is one amazing smile.

I already have, back in November. According to all the handouts given, a donation has the potential to save up to three lives. I don't like needles at all, but I went through with it despite that, given the aforementioned reason. That and it is the right thing to do, as well as something that not enough people do. It is a great cause, and I am honored to have contributed to it.

 

Also, I plan to do so again in the future.

 

So you could say that I'm not actually "Nobody's Heroine." (Rush puns, FTW!)

This is a gorgeous studio, I have to say.

 

Wherever they choose to record, I am sure that the end result of their work will be nothing short of epic. It's been a long wait, but we are all very anxious for the latest Rush album in five years. That's what matters most: the music.

Believe it or not, my Neil nymph side manifested itself in my latest dream. What I remember is playing the drums for "Free Will" on Neil's amazing 360-degree drum kit. It might have been the Time Machine tour one.

We are indeed quite rare, we Rush-loving women, but we exist. You just have to look in the right places.
