  1. Out of curiosity, did anyone here attend Rush's first show on the Vapor Trails tour in 2002? If so, I envy you on 2112 levels. laugh.gif

I was only eight years old, and didn't know anything about such an exceptional band as Rush. My musical taste back then cannot even compare to what it is now. I didn't even go to my first Rush show until just this year. Why wasn't I born sooner?! ohmy.gif

What can you lucky concert-goers tell about the show, specifically? I imagine that the emotions were very intense among the audience, given that they were at the first Rush show in five years after a hiatus where there was no certainty that the band would ever return. Emotions must also have been intense among Geddy, Alex and Neil, given the events in the band's and Neil's lives before this point. Geddy mentions in Beyond the Lighted Stage that he kept checking on Neil, to make sure that Neil was smiling and laughing throughout the show. tongue.gif

I recently read somewhere that Alex tossed one of his guitar picks to a woman in a wheelchair; he had to get a security guard's attention by kicking the security guard's back in order to get it to her. That was so sweet of Alex. heart.gif

I had my hereditary cancer genetic testing done this morning at the doctors. I went with the blood draw method but I guess there's another method where you rinse your mouth and spit.

Should have test results back around Jan. 9th. I was tested for breast, ovarian and colon cancer.

    Good luck, Janie. hug2.gif

I plan on looking into genetic testing when I'm older, as well. It's better safe than sorry, as they say. You never know, especially with the many medical conditions in my family. unsure.gif

Definitely the Shirt Hall of Fame. Mamma mia! I think you girls know how I feel about Geddy in that particular sort of shirt!

Sorry, but I have to repost this one now:

No need to apologize. We're not complaining. All Geddy pics are welcome. tongue.gif

Oh yes, he smiles with his entire face. You can always tell a genuine smile - if the eyes aren't smiling, too, it's a fake. Lerxst never fakes it wub.gif

    Like this?

Whoever made him smile like that deserves some kind of award. wub.gif

  5. I watched The Pianist for the second time last night. Now my mini-crush on the starring man has become an official one. tongue.gif

    http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Adrien2.png

He has beautiful eyes, doesn't he? They're so somber and big and hazel. wub.gif

    http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Adrien3.png

Aw, don't look so sad, Adrien. hug2.gif

Merry Christmas to Bubba, his family and his fans. heart.gif

Now that I think of it, he kind of resembles Santa with those glasses. tongue.gif

  7. Here I bring you my Christmas Geddy painting for this year:

    http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Gorgeous%20Geddy/XmasGeddy2011.jpg

This was made using watercolours. I haven't painted in several years, so I was surprised by how well this turned out. new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

His hair was the most difficult part; based on the picture, there were light and dark areas where he was under direct sunlight. But it's such gorgeous hair. ohmy.gif

Again, I know that he's Jewish, but it was still so much fun to create. Hopefully we Geddy girls can share him. laugh.gif

Happy holidays, my dear Lerxst-loving ladies and gentlemen. hug2.gif

I'm primarily a Geddy girl, but wow, that is one amazing smile. wub.gif

  9. I already have, back in November. According to all the handouts given, a donation has the potential to save up to three lives. I don't like needles at all, but I went through with it despite that, given the aforementioned reason. That and it is the right thing to do, as well as something that not enough people do. It is a great cause, and I am honored to have contributed to it. biggrin.gif

Also, I plan to do so again in the future. cool.gif

So you could say that I'm not actually "Nobody's Heroine." (Rush puns, FTW!) laugh.gif

In the "I felt like a cradle robber till I found out he's only 2 years younger than me" category, Leonardo DiCaprio. Honestly, I've watched him grow up and somehow thought he was still a kid. He is NOT. Lordy.

Speaking of Mr. DiCaprio, I was watching Inception in one of my classes yesterday when I realized what a great actor he is. I've grossly underestimated him all this time, but no longer. And I agree, he's very much an attractive man, not a kid. new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Love that tuxedo on him. tongue.gif

  11. http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/RushDay.jpg

This was made while I listened to the entirety of "2112." Easily the most epic twenty minutes and thirty seconds of my life. 1022.gif

I do not care what anyone says otherwise -- to me, Geddy has a beautiful voice. Especially during "Discovery." wub.gif

Happy Hanukkah, Geddy! I hope you don't get punched by a rabbi!

Oh, and Happy Hanukkah to any Hanukkah-celebratin' Geddy Gals! biggrin.gif

No, rabbi, don't punch Dirk. It's not good for business. Think of the children! laugh.gif

    But anyway...Happy Hanukkah, Geddy! heart.gif

I'm not Jewish myself, but I do recognize the holidays and have had an interest in Jewish history and culture for a while now. I'll be receiving a Star of David necklace as an early Christmas/Hanukkah gift, as a quiet way of showing my support. biggrin.gif

  13. This is my Geddy bookmark series, with three of my favorite eras. tongue.gif

The Counterparts one is in the book that I'm currently reading. cool.gif

  14. This is a gorgeous studio, I have to say. tongue.gif

Wherever they choose to record, I am sure that the end result of their work will be nothing short of epic. It's been a long wait, but we are all very anxious for the latest Rush album in five years. That's what matters most: the music. new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Nominate it for the Shirt Hall of Fame while you're at it! ohmy.gif drool1.gif wub.gif

and it should probably win an award for being one of the hottest pictures ever

Yeah, even if I can get some pics from my mom, scan them and post them in...I don't think so...tough crowd! Consider what I look like now and trust me when I say I'm about 1000% BETTER looking than when I was a kid (except for when I was REALLY young). There aren't words to describe how ugly I was. I'd have to pay for y'all to get counseling! Or for myself to, after the comments that would be made blush4.gif

Aw, don't say that, Carrie. You were and still are beautiful (even if I haven't seen any pics of you as a child). hug2.gif
