QUOTE (treeduck @ Oct 20 2011, 05:39 PM) Ugh I've just seen the pictures of Gaddafi being dragged from a drain all bloody begging for his life before being manhandled and shot before a baying mob...
A bad man for sure but that's just barbaric...made me feel sick...I totally agree; I do not approve of any form of violence, especially violence which is that barbaric. Nor do I believe that anyone deserves death, regardless of his or her crimes. It was very difficult for me to watch, too.
Yes, I am happy that the people of Libya are freed of their dictator, who caused much unrest and suffering for over forty years. I am also happy that such a dictator is no longer in power, but I still do not believe that he should have died that way.

I share your love for Halloween, Janie. I've always loved Halloween, which wouldn't be the favorite holiday of a typical teenage girl. I tend to elevate above the norm. (See what I did there?)
I'll be dressing as a type of pirate this year. I can't really do anything fancy, since my family is currently tight on money. But next year, I plan on dressing up as Alice Cooper from the Along Came a Spider album cover. That'll make one of my classmates and certainly one of my best friends quite happy.

I love groups like Alice Cooper, Metallica, Breaking Benjamin, Marilyn Manson, Seether and of course Rush, to name a few. I don't really care for heavy metal all that much, but I do like some Slipknot and KoRn when the mood strikes me.
Rush is a band that the female fans can love as much as, if not better than, the male fans. It's not so much a matter of gender as it is a matter of musical taste. Thankfully, Rush's fan base isn't purely male anymore.
As far as I'm concerned, one doesn't have to be a certain gender or any other demographic to enjoy and appreciate good music. Music reaches far and wide, to both men and women; there's something for everyone. If it's good, it's good. It doesn't matter what genre it is. Diversity is a good thing.
Just my two cents.

Wow, fifty thousand words in a month?! I'm an aspiring writer who hopes to write novels, but that's something that I could not easily do (as of now, at least). For me, writing is a gradual process. I can't just whip up quality work in a short amount of time. Most of what I write takes much longer than a month.
But I have to admire the tenacity of the people who participate in NaNoWriMo, including yourself. Good luck.

QUOTE (CMWriter @ Aug 31 2011, 10:55 PM) Okay, I don't know if this one's already been given, but I seriously think one of the Geddy Gals needs to have "Oh My Ged" as their member title.
I think that would be just perfect. Not sure for who though!
I can certainly see it for Kahme (NobodysHeroine). That would be awesome.
Like a little kid: Everyone else has a title. I want one!

QUOTE (SavageAmy @ Oct 16 2011, 10:17 AM) Overall, it's just a nice, domestic kind of photo! Oh, and there's a lot to look at, too. I thought you meant Geddy at first.
But that does apply to the room, as well. I'd love to read those titles. Especially if I could read with Geddy.

QUOTE (SavageAmy @ Oct 16 2011, 10:17 AM) Speaking of favorite shots from the CP era, I'm partial to this one:
http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n639/savageamy/counterparts-15-1.jpg
I like this one for a lot of reasons:
1.) It's kinda cool to see Geddy in his natural habitat...
2.) It looks pretty cozy! You could kinda see yourself cuddling up on the sofa with him there...
3.) It makes me smile to think of him padding around the house in his socks, for some reason.
4.) His hair looks great here!
5.) You don't normally see him in clear/untinted glasses, so it's kinda neat...
6.) Forearms!
Overall, it's just a nice, domestic kind of photo! Oh, and there's a lot to look at, too. I wish I could read the titles on the books!Of course, we can't forget this one.
I also love it for all the reasons mentioned. And I definitely wouldn't mind cuddling with Geddy on that couch.

This is one of the primary reasons why I have no intention of ever having children. There's more than enough people in this world. We don't any more. We're not rabbits -- we don't need to breed like rabbits.

There's been another Geddy drought. Not good for business.
I am quite excited. The reason being that I get to see Geddy again, for the first time in six months, at my local movie theatre for the nationwide premier of the Live in Cleveland concert.
Who else is going tomorrow night? We get to enjoy both the music and one of the men making that music.
And on that note...
