    6/18/81, snuck into Anaheim Convention Center with my band around noon, laid low in the loge (drummer got caught & ejected) watched sound check, stayed for whole show, weaseled to front row, found backstage pass, went on stage after show & sat behind Neils kit and grabbed a stick! Recently found a bootleg of that night!! It Rocks!!!

    For everyone that has always continued to turn UP the volume on the ending of Different Strings to hear the BEGINNING of that great solo, only to hear it fade away much too soon, has anyone heard the following story... After the album was done (but not 100% mixed down) the band said OK, then went on tour (or whatever) and the next time that Alex heard DS was after it was pressed and on the market and the screaming solo was faded out!!!!! when he went on for another 45, 55, 65, 85 seconds??? and he was pissed. So, if the story is true, I would be willing to pay $$$ for a new re-release from the vault with the WHOLE solo. Who's with me????

    Hi, I'm Rich and I'm a Rush-aholic! I stopped being a fan after Signals / Terry Brown and the last time I saw them was 6-18-81 at the Anaheim Convention Center; a great show with a backstage pass and a Neil drumstick souvenir!! I recently got a bootleg of that show in very good quality and it is AWESOME! So, now it's 29 years later and here they are at Irvine (5 miles from home) and I got a 24bit Tascam recording and took over 300 photos. Please go to the flickr link to view. I am slowly starting to get into some of the Post GUP stuff, especially Counterparts, a much heavier sound than all of that damned synth crap. Please feel free to comment on the photos; shot on a Panasonic Lumix without a flash from 5th row center.
