  1. Ever wondered what would happen if Rocky took on Raging Bull? Well, soon you’ll find out. Except their left hooks might be a little shakier than you remember … Sylvester Stallone, 67, and Robert De Niro, 70, are to face each other in the ring in a new film, Grudge Match. The pair team up to play two aging fighters returning to the ring for one last bout some thirty years after their last meeting, a fight that effectively finished their boxing careers. In a new trailer the two actors are seen training for the forthcoming fight before squaring up to one another as the bell commences proceedings. The film also sees them borrow heavily from their previous boxing endeavours - particularly Stallone, whose role as Henry ‘Razor’ Sharp sees him work out in a meat locker, just like Rocky. With both actors getting no younger - Stallone is 67, while De Niro is 70 - cosmetic trickery is used to fashion them into young, angry boxers in flashback scenes, including one in which Stallone, looking remarkably like Rocky, announces his retirement from the sport. Another, more comical scene sees the pair climbing into skin suits illuminated with bulbs while they throw mock punches for an animated computer game that ends with them throwing punches for real, prompting the rematch. Other stars to feature in the new film include Kevin Hart, Kim Basinger, Alan Arkin and Jon Bernthal - best known for his role as Shane Walsh in The Walking Dead. In one scene a concerned Basinger tells Stallone: 'No matter how hard you guys work you won't be your best,' to which he responds: 'That's all we've got.' While it revolves around settling old scores, Grudge Match is essentially a sports comedy, with De Niro seen playing his embittered character, Billy ‘The Kid’ McGuigan for laughs. Both actors have history when it comes to playing punch-drunk palookas, with Stallone’s mainstream Hollywood career effectively launched by his hugely popular Rocky franchise. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/13/article-0-1BCC0D0A000005DC-538_634x341.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/13/article-0-1BCC61AE000005DC-991_634x339.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/13/article-0-1BCC625D000005DC-231_634x342.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/13/article-0-1BCC6291000005DC-750_634x402.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/13/article-0-1BCC624B000005DC-220_634x340.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/13/article-0-1BCC5E83000005DC-293_634x345.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/13/article-0-1BCC5ED8000005DC-763_634x346.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/13/article-0-1BCC6068000005DC-118_634x347.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/13/article-0-1BCC0C8E000005DC-595_634x348.jpg

  3. John Lennon's only full-rehearsed concert from 1972 is getting a drastic overhaul. Producer Jack Douglas, best known for his work with Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, and Lennon's final 1980 songs on Double Fantasy and Milk And Honey, revealed to us that plans are in the early stages to restore the show for an upcoming release. On August 30th, 1972, Lennon and Yoko Ono were backed by Elephants Memory for two full concerts at New York's Madison Square Garden. The performances, known as the One To One concerts, included an afternoon matinee and an evening performance, benefited the Willowbrook House, with the proceeds from the shows going to help establish new accommodations for the mentally handicapped inhabitants of the former Willowbrook institution in Long Island, New In an exclusive interview, Douglas, who was behind the boards for the 2010 Double Fantasy Stripped Down collection, says that unlike the 1986 LP and VHS versions of the '72 show -- called, Live In New York City -- he plans to include material from both the afternoon and evening charity concerts. Douglas told us that he wants fans to be able to relive the moment with the benefit of modern technology: "What I'm proposing is that we get the One To One concert, get it to be at its proper status and sound and do a stereo and 5.1 (mix) that are worthy of the experience and make a proper DVD and get it to the fans. I would hope that we would do everything that I could get my hands on as far as footage and sound. That event really deserves more than, than we have right now." The songs performed by John Lennon and Yoko Ono over the two MSG shows on August 30th, 1972 were:"Power To The People (intro)," "New York City," "It's So Hard," "Move On Fast (Yoko)," "Woman Is The N!gger Of The World," "Sisters O' Sisters (Yoko)," "Well, Well, Well," "Born In A Prison (Yoko)," "Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)," "Mother," "We're All Water (Yoko)," "Come Together," "Imagine," "Open Your Box (Yoko)," "Cold Turkey," "Don't Worry Kyoko (Yoko)," "Hound Dog," and "Give Peace A Chance." There's been no release date for the 1972 live collection.

A longtime friend and spokesman for Ansara says the actor died Wednesday at his home in Calabasas, California. His former agent Michael B. Druxman told the New York Times that Ansara died after suffering from Alzheimer's disease. He was 91. Ansara was most famous for playing evil Klingon leader Kang on the original 'Star Trek' and was one of the few actors to continue that role in further iterations of the series, playing the Klingon in 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine' and 'Star Trek: Voyager.' Ansara was born in Syria and moved to the United States when he was two-years-old. His family first lived in Massachusetts before moving to Los Angeles when he was 10. At first Ansara planned to become a doctor but shifted his focus to acting after he took up at the Pasadena Playhouse to overcome his shyness. His first film role was in the 1944 thriller 'Action in Arabia.' Because of his Syrian heritage, Ansara was often cast in ethnic roles, playing American Indian characters on TV shows like 'Broken Arrow' and 'Law of the Plainsman.' He also appeared on ''I Dream of Jeannie,' 'Hawaii 5-0' and 'Murder, She Wrote.' His film credits include Julius Caesar, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Greatest Story Ever Told and The Comancheros with John Wayne. More recently, Ansara appeared as the guardian to an estranged grandson in the 1999 independent film 'Long Road Home' and as the voice of Mr. Freeze on the cartoon TV series 'Batman' and 'Batman Beyond.' Ansara was predeceased by his son, Matthew, with former wife Barbara Eden. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Beverly Kushida, a sister and a niece and nephew.

  14. I was just listening to the new Bowie single and I really like it, it's good. It's got a really cool vibe and sounds like the Bowie of the late 70s and 1980, to me at any rate. I was just reading that this new single is the most understated and mellow song on the album and they chose it because they wanted to ease Bowie back into the public consciousness after his 10 year hiatus. They didn't want to shock him back into our systems. Apparently this new album rocks too with plenty of high octane stuff! :haz: I'll be getting the deluxe edition which includes three all new bonus tracks! Which makes the total album length just over 60 minutes. Who else is grabbing the new Bowie? :hi: :guitar:
  15. Original UK albums + MMT and the Past Masters albums... My fave is definitely Revolver (at the moment and most of the time).
  16. There's an album I'm thinking of, the music, the atmosphere, the vibe, the cover artwork, all seems to be have been created by aliens or for aliens or describes aliens and their weird alien planet? I'll reveal mine later. What's yours?
