  1. Discussing frontman Mick Jagger, Roger said: 'You've got to take your hat off to him. He's the number one rock 'n' roll performer. He then added: 'But as a band, if you were outside a pub and you heard that music coming out of a pub some night, you'd think, "Well, that's a mediocre pub band!"' and Paul "Macca" McCartney said: Despite their commercial success, the group have drawn criticism from others in the past including The Beatles' Sir Paul, who has made a string of explosive comments about the fellow rockers - all peppered with loose compliments. Speaking to The New Yorker last month, he said: 'I'm not sure I should say it, but they're a blues cover band, that's sort of what the Stones are. I think our net was cast a bit wider than theirs', in regard to the two groups. https://codacollection.co/films/roger-daltrey-the-coda-collection-interview
  2. Obviously in the dream Neil was alive. I heard the album in my dream and it was kick ass! The best album since 1981 or 1980. Geddy's voice was peak quality, every song had a ripping melodic guitar solo, the songs were top quality with heavy riffs and cool synth parts, the drums were epic and the production was organic with perfect dynamics! As I was awakening I thought I'll listen to that new RUSH album again when I get up. But when I got up the album wasn't there... I forget the name of it now but even the name was cool. :guitar: :blah: :NP:
  3. I just thought I'd root out the Bon Jovi fans, since I was surprised to see a couple in here recently.

The record reached #13 in the U.K. and was certified gold in the U.S. BMG honors this daring album with a collection that includes a newly remastered version of the original, a brand-new mix by Steven Wilson, plus more than 90 minutes of previously unreleased outtakes, alternative mixes and live tracks. TECHNICAL ECSTASY: SUPER DELUXE EDITION will be available on October 1st as a 4-CD set and 5-LP set on 180-gram black vinyl. Both the 4-CD and 5-LP versions are available for pre-order HERE. The remastered studio album will be available the same day on digital download and streaming services. The newly remastered version of ‘Back Street Kids’ is available today digitally. Click HERE to listen now. In the summer of 1976, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward headed to Miami to record Technical Ecstasy at the famed Criteria Studios. The band was coming off a world tour for their previous album, Sabotage, that had found their live performances evolving to include keyboards and synthesizers. These newly incorporated instruments and sounds were then introduced into the recording process on Technical Ecstasy. The new songs encompassed a wide range of styles from the hard charging “Back Street Kids” and ballad “It’s Alright,” to the funky “All Moving Parts (Stand Still)” and progressive “Gypsy.” The album also featured the single “It’s Alright,” which was the first Sabbath song to feature lead vocals by Ward. The Deluxe Edition presents a newly remastered version of the eight-track album, along with an entirely new mix of the album created by Steven Wilson using the original analog tapes. TECHNICAL ECSTASY: SUPER DELUXE EDITION comes with eight previously unreleased outtakes and alternative mixes. Among those are different mixes of “You Won’t Change Me” and “Rock ’n’ Roll Doctor,” as well as both outtake and instrumental versions for “She’s Gone.” The collection concludes with 10 previously unreleased live tracks recorded during the 1976-77 Technical Ecstasy World Tour. The songs touch on different eras of the band’s history with early tracks like “Black Sabbath” and “War Pigs” alongside new songs “Gypsy” and “Dirty Women.” The collection comes with an extensive booklet featuring artwork, liner notes, rare memorabilia and photos from the era, plus a replica of the 1976-77 world tour concert book and a large colour poster. 5. We always get the death threads so I thought I'd do an alternative thread here for the familiar character actor born in 1919. So no need to be sad, he's alive and kicking! I think he's currently the oldest actor in Hollywood after the death of Norman Lloyd. Here he is in Some Like it Hot as the gangster Little Bonaparte.

  8. An interesting match-up of contemporaries born less than two years apart.
  9. I say, YES they are, they f***ing suck. They're like a boring, unfunny version of The Rutles, but their songs aren't as good. Cheese and Onion is leagues better than anything Oasis ever did.
  10. So I was going through my Ronnie James Dio collection of Rainbow, Sabbath and Dio albums getting ready for my later on in my continuing listening series THE SCHEDULE ™ ® ℠, and I got to thinking about DIO and the whole devil's horns gesture. Then I thought, I've seen that somewhere recently, now where was it? So I was thinking where've I seen it? It can't be on those albums I just listened to from 1969...? So I checked, and YES here it is!
  11. Happy Birthday Fridge! And your birthday present is this, the first Scotsman to unify in the four belt era of boxing (the other belt is the Ring Magazine belt).
  12. If The Beatles (White Album), had been it a single album (so a roughly 45 minute album with 15 songs) which 15 songs out of the 30 would you choose to be on this hypothetical single album version? Here's my choices: Back in the U.S.S.R. Dear Prudence Glass Onion Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da While My Guitar Gently Weeps Happiness Is a Warm Gun Blackbird Piggies Why Don't We Do it in the Road? Birthday Yer Blues Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey Helter Skelter Long, Long, Long Savoy Truffle
  13. Do you love all the obscure Beatles tunes, or do you prefer all the hits? Or somewhere in between? Or whatever it may be...? I'll have to work on this one myself for a bit.
  14. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame reveals its 2021 Inductees, celebrating the most diverse list of Inductees in the history of the organization. 15. If you had to be pigeonholed into being described, for the most part, as a fan of your favourite sub-genre of music, what would it be? I think I did this before but I included too many options. This time we'll keep it simple and concise, relatively speaking. So ae you mostly a hard rock fan? A prog rock fan? A pop fan? etc
  16. The song Natural Science from RUSH is placed in this random poll here. Vote for the song you like best.
