  1. Hey Net Boys and Net Girls... I have two lower level tickets I'm trying to sell. They are located in section 8, row 5. I purchased them during the presale, but was able to upgrade a bit. (One section closer to the stage) Face value for these seats is $305 each, but I'd be willing to discuss any reasonable offers. We'd have to meet before the gig...we're planning on being at the Edison Ale House at 5:00. Of course, if you are in NJ and need to meet tonight or tomorrow morning, we might be able to do that as well. Let me know if you have any questions.

  4. As I am winding down my current Kinks marathon with two amazing box sets (Picture Book - 6 CDs and The Kinks at The BBC - 5 CDs), I am thinking about which band I am going to tackle in a music marathon next. My Kinks marathon should wind down by week's end and the next marathon to begin next Sunday. The key here is, I have to have to have all of their albums (studio and live) and listen to them in chronological order. So, I've decided to leave the choice (from the list below) up to all of you, my dear Rush brothers and sisters. Here are the choices I've selected... 1: The Who 2: David Bowie 3: Rush 4: Thin Lizzy 5: Pink Floyd 6: Ramones 7 Dire Straits ...thank you, in advance, for your assistance in my music listening pleasure.

  17. If you had only one last post here on TRF, what would you say? My last post would be to say thank you to all of my Rush brothers and sisters here for making TRF such a great place to spend time over the years. (There really are some of the most wonderful people here). I would also remind you not to sit too close to the television, eat your vegetables, wait 1/2 hour after eating before you go swimming and listen to Rush on a regular basis. :dweez: :dweez: :dweez: :dweez: :dweez: http://southparkstudios.mtvnimages.com/shared/characters/celebrities/rush.png?height=165

  21. This is from Ultimate Classic Rock... The release of Bob Dylan‘s ‘Basement Tapes‘ box set earlier this week was enough to get us thinking about which of our favorite bands could get similar treatment. But now we learn that we will never see one from Rush, because according to drummer Neil Peart, they have nothing in their vaults. In the video above, a teaser for his interview with George Stroumboulopoulos of CBC Radio 2 that will air Sunday (Nov. 9), Peart gives an example of what he calls “the Rush way of doing things. We’ve never given up on a song. We do not have a single unreleased song in the world.” Explaining further after Stroumboulopoulos expresses surprise, Peart says that “if we went far enough and if we believed in it, we kept working on it. A lot of stuff got thrown away before it got that far or syphoned into other songs. I call my lyrical file the ‘scrap pot’ and I’ll go [through it] when I’m looking for bits and pieces and musically, [hopefully] we’re the same. If things [are] not happening, we’ll throw it away.” He describes ‘Wish Them Well’ from 2012′s ‘Clockwork Angels‘ as a track that went through several revisions. “[T]hree times we wrote that song and threw it away and it was the third version, finally, that pleased us all,” he continues. “The will was only fed by the inspiration, ‘Do we believe in this song?” But inevitably, when you get to the recording stage and the mixing stage, it might not be what you’d envisioned.” The second half of the video sheds light on the different approaches favored by Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee in the recording and mixing processes. ‘The Strombo Show‘ airs on CBC Radio 2 Sunday nights at 8PM Eastern, and will be available online Monday.
