QUOTE (Khan @ Sep 24 2012, 10:13 AM) Gotta say I was disappointed in this tour's drum solo...too electronic-based for me. dude...there were 3 drum solos? WTF?

QUOTE (Alchemical @ Sep 16 2012, 01:58 AM) It's a rock concert, a few rotten apples in the bunch are to be expected. Don't let them spoil your time.
But STILL...I will say it isn't pleasant to be surrounded by inebriated, borderline belligerent mid-40s douchebags screaming, "PLAY RED BARCHETTTTTAA!!!" during most of the first set.So when you hit your mid 40's you'll also be a douche? By your own account, sounds like it. If not already.

QUOTE (Don'tMeetInBars @ Sep 19 2012, 06:03 AM) QUOTE (drbirdsong @ Sep 18 2012, 10:44 PM) All the songs from the 80s have been heavier sounding since the Vapor Trails tour because Alex realized that Gibson and Fender guitars beat the living shit out of those plastic toys he was playing previously. Probably more Gibson than Fender here, but sure it's a different vibe than PRS. Alex is also using heavier amp sounds to go along with this. It all adds up to a big big sound.
no, no, no.
his amps now are more sophisticated sounding, but not heavier. when he used marshall amps on T4E- there was a thicker amp sound.

no matter what guitar he uses, he still sounds like lerxt!!

QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Sep 14 2012, 01:32 PM) There is no better way to end a Rush show than with crashing drums, booming bass, screaming guitar, and "ATTENTION ALL PLANETS....ATTENTION ALL PLANETS...WE HAVE ASSUMMED CONTROL...WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL." -
QUOTE (losingit2k @ Sep 14 2012, 10:25 AM) I have always felt that this is a good setlist except for the use of Working Man. I think any of the above would have been a better closer for this tour. I went with Xanadu. I think that would have worked perfectly.
working man is a great song. and unless your name is pratt, lerxt or dirk- your opinion matter not.

QUOTE (eshine @ Sep 11 2012, 10:49 AM) QUOTE (Gompers @ Sep 11 2012, 10:14 AM) QUOTE (eshine @ Sep 11 2012, 10:48 AM) One thing is for sure. Metaldaddy would never have the balls to call me a "little queen" to my face. I promise you.
He'd be picking up his teeth in a second. What is this shit talk?
It's called defending myself.
I never once said a word to this guy but obviously hurt his feelings enough for him to call me a "little queen"
Just stating a fact - he would never say this to me in person without regretting it.
soooo, you're into getting arrested?
doubt you're 12 anymore. love to see you get cuffed and stuffed though!
tough guy...

QUOTE (tullfan @ Sep 9 2012, 06:23 PM) Rush gives their 70s fans a middle finger on the CA Tour. With ticket prices averaging $100.00 + this is what they do ? By what I can tell on this forum many of you are younger and have no problem with this, but you know what, Rush became popular during the 70s. Us older fans went to their shows, bought their albums, t shirts and tour books. Had a great time. This all came to a head when Moving Pictures came out and Rush was king. Record sales through the roof. All was well in Rushworld. Signals came out and was great and then they get the bright idea to not use Terry Brown and start dropping their epicness for a bunch of lame 80s records and set list that started the trend of completely ignoring their past along with a segment of their fan base, you know, the ones they gained their popularity on. It's very insulting to do this to the fans that got them there, but apparently there are other generations after who seem to love their post 1985 stuff. That's fine, I just think that Rush could put aside 45 minutes in their set list to please the older fans. After all that is the least they could do and they #!#@%ing know it. Instead they take the "This is what we are going to do and we can care less about the fans" attitude. O.K. fine. I give up. I will not be going to this show. The first Rush tour I will miss since the Hemispheres Tour. I was a diehard and they threw fans like me under the bus. I'm sick of it !!!!!!!!!!! Must be nice making tons of money playing a bunch of songs some of us don't want to hear, oh and by the way, make sure no one steals your t-shirt money Rush because you don't make any on the concert ticket. Give me a #$@%ing break. go to the jefro tull board. yes, jeFro tull.
i doubt rush set out some 40 years ago to do everything YOU think they should.
they rule, you drool...

QUOTE (USB Connector @ Sep 9 2012, 02:25 PM) It sort of sucks to do rotating sets. I just went through the dates and if they rotate every night Montreal gets set A, which I feel is vastly inferior to set B. vastly??????

Only ten songs in the first set? Not that I'm complaining since they're all freaking awesome, but...10 songs??

QUOTE (YtseRob2112 @ Sep 7 2012, 07:38 PM) Seems a bit early for the drum solo hopefully more acoustic drum bashing and less artsy-fartsy electronic.
