  1. QUOTE (Del_Duio @ Jul 2 2010, 10:22 AM) QUOTE (amylovesrush @ Jul 2 2010, 02:50 AM) Muse are already there IMO - consistently excellent live - a trio; thinking man's lyrics; and excellent musicians. Sound familiar? Primus?
  2. QUOTE (irish_matt @ Jul 2 2010, 09:23 AM) by that, I mean TS, YYZ and Limelight. I doubt if any of the others make the cut. yeah, i'm hoping camera I will stay, but not betting on it. cannot wait to hear that song live!!
  3. QUOTE (Merely Space @ Jul 2 2010, 08:46 AM) QUOTE (tick @ Jul 2 2010, 06:36 AM) I know a lot of people will probably respond with The Camera Eye, but for me personally that song is Presto! I have hoped for years it would make a set list. Presto is an epic song from one of Rush's most underrated, and disrespected albums. Presto has always been my Rush album designated to be inserted into my CD player every December. Its my official Rush Christmas album. Its a Pavlov's Dog thing for me. I hear the album Presto and it reminds me of Christmas. Well this year Rush gives me a early Christmas present by adding this epic song to the set list. Most definitely. I remember really enjoying the Presto tour, but being WTF about their not playing the title track. My favorite song on the album, and one I thought would be incredible live. I rather appreciate them proving me right twenty years later. i think it was left out because of the acoustic guitar dominance in the song and the fact that at the time, the acoustic pickup (as lerxt uses now in many of his electric guitars) was not around. and there are no easy spots in the track to switch from standard acoustic guitar to electric like he does with entres nous or when they played nobody's hero.
  4. don't get me wrong, i love moving pictures from start to finish. but when they tour to support the next album, what do you think/want to still hear from the 1981 classic?? i think tom sawyer will always be there, as yyz and maybe limelight... i've love them to keep the camera eye. witch hunt was the most powerful i've heard them play on the snakes... tour this isn't really a time machine thread, but there isn't one for the next tour yet
  5. QUOTE (lonelymoon @ May 26 2007, 05:55 PM) Analog Kid has a killer opening riff. great energy through the verses, busy bass. Nice contrast in the chorus where it slows down, you move me, you move me, with your buildings and your eyes, autumn woods and winter skies... very pretty. Then the mind boggling solo. Then the uptempo ending... too many hands on my time, etc. Great dynamic tune. And the ending has the so cool keyboard (moog?) sound, like a spinning flying saucer lifting off. A showcase tune. Why the hell do they never play it? PLEASE PLAY ANALOG KID!! i also really, really dig this track. even more, i love how they added an additional chorus in the diff. stages live version. one of lerxt best solo's and just a great tune!
  6. QUOTE (Faithless Mover @ Jul 2 2010, 02:05 AM)IMO the only active acts that measure up to the greats (Rush, Pink Floyd, The Who, Queen) are Springsteen, Tool, Peter Gabriel & Fleetwood Mac. They consistently bring it live. Kings of Leon and Muse are getting better and better but don't have the catalog just yet, but it won't be long. Gary Moore, U2, Metallica, Queensryche, Van Halen, Prince, Bob Dylan & Iron Maiden are capable of amazing shows but are too inconsistent in my experience. Leonard Cohen was amazing last year. Never got to see Zeppelin, The Doors, The Clash, The Band or classic Yes. Born too late. If only I had a real time machine. Some people would change history. I would go to concerts. have you ever seen maiden or especially metallica live??? inconsistent?
  7. alice in chains is touring with a wonderful setlist. the last iron maiden tour- the powerslave era setlist...that was more a time machine, in a very big sense than rush's current list imo. whether you like maiden or not, what they did- basically played only songs from their live album from '86...it was awesome!!!!! now, that being said- rush has a much greater catolog to pull from, BUT- if rush were to be playing the moving pictures/exit...stage left setlist on this tour...sure we'd miss some gems from the later 80's and the 90's albums...but we'd get more jacob's ladder and less _______________(fill in the blank on which songs you don't need to hear on the current list...) i love rush and can't wait to hear them play on july 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean 30 seconds is fine for that stuff..it's fun then...but over 2 minutes of reggae Working Man? A bit much if you ask me. NO ONE ASKED YOU- 3 rush shows does not mean anyone cares what you think. most of all the 3 guys on stage. NO ONE ASKED HIM? (Ooooh, it felt so liberating to yell like that! ) No one had to ask him. It happens here when the admins deem it necessary. We are, I think, quite judicious in that kind of drastic action. That being said, I myself have requested that the bashing of Neil's personal life and personality stop. 13. QUOTE (Ron2112 @ Jul 1 2010, 08:39 AM)So.....after listening to this recording from opening night, I have to say, without hesitation that this set sounds a hell of a lot better than it looks on paper. Yes, "Faithless" is the mid-set momentum-stealer that we all expect -- much in the same way "Secret Touch" killed ot for me on the SnA tour. But the rest really sounds great. "Presto" is so dramatic live. I really believe a few of the naysayers will be converted after seeing this. Some interesting technical flubs in this show....they almost hosed up the intro to TSOR, but everyone was going so nuts, it's hard to tell. Really starting to think that this is going to be an amazing concert. Peace, Ron faithless is a great song. if you all haven't noticed; IT'S ALSO BEING PLAYED BY A GREAT BAND- THE GREATEST BAND- SO QUIT BITCHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. QUOTE (Cygnus-1001001 @ Jun 30 2010, 12:35 PM) I think its one of the worst Rush songs! Really no redeeming qualities and it looks like you all agree! What a weird choice! Happy with Time Stand Still, Presto and Marathon though So any one like this song?? heavy song from an important time for rush's sound...WTF?
  15. Geddy's voice sounds terrible though in CTTH. They could have dropped that another key for him. finally using his martin 12 string again! no more garrisons...
