  1. Well, a double pedal will start off at around $100, but I would recommend something within the $150 - $200 price range if you're looking to go with a brand new one.

The one's that are priced at $100 are the Pacific 402 and the Sound Percussion 602. The SP is going to the better of the two in my opinion. It's a much lighter and smoother pedal as far as the feel goes, and there's also more that you can adjust with it too. With the Pacific, it's a very "what you see is what you get" kind of pedal. Once you break it out of the box, that's it. The Sound Percussion's also come with a 1 year in-store exchange warranty if anything does break on you within that period of time.

The next step up from there will be the DW 2002 and Pearl P902. Both are priced around $160. The Pearl would be my first choice between those two pedals, because you can change the settings on it more than what you can with the DW. The upside to the DW though, is that it has a 5 year warranty with it compared to a 2 year warranty from Pearl.

Then there's the DW 3002 which would be your best bang for the buck. It's $200, but is going to give a way better feel than the DW 2002 or Pearl P902. Plus it has a double chain drive compared to a single chain which is what's included on the 902 and the 2002. You also get the same 5 year warranty with the 3002 as you do the 2002.

But, my best advice would be to take him down to a drum shop and let him try out those pedals if they're available, plus whatever other ones that the shop may have within that price range. That way he gets to find out which one he likes the best.

    And your point is?

That the team with the best pk in the league shouldn't be going 0-4 against a team who's had one of the worst pp's all year long.

just like the Pens Cup run last year yes.gif

    Sour grapes eyesre4.gif

How was it not fixed? An exact rematch, higher seed switched around, and winning it on opposing ice in game 6? Come on...even you have to admit that it's a little suspicious...

It's because Detroit had Hossa. tongue.gif

Hence why the Blackhawks are now cursed to go without a Cup for the next 12 years...

Because you'd have to be an idiot to believe such a thing. It's what happens when you can't accept that something happened, so you begin to try to make things up in your mind in order to justify what just happened.

Don't like the fact that the Penguins won the Stanley Cup last season? Too bad. It happened, get over it and deal with it.

Let me guess... now you're going to try and tell me that the 1945 and 1971 Stanley cup Finals were fixed too because the away team won game 7 in those two series as well. Or the 1956 and 1984 Finals were fixed because they featured the same two teams to play in the previous years' final only to have the team that had been defeated the previous season emerge as the winner, right?

    goodpost.gif

What do you say.. another run for the cup this year Matt?

    DEFY ORDINARY! 1022.gif

I'm hoping so. Philadelphia beating New Jersey was probably the best thing that could have happened to the Penguins in the post season, regardless if Washington defeats Montreal or not. If the Caps do defeat the Habs, then I'd expect Philly to give them a run for their money as well. I could see a Washington/Philadelphia series going to 7 games with the winner facing Pittsburgh in the Conference finals. That series could be determined by which team is not as worn out as the other is (in which I would say Washington would be based on Philly's man-handling of New Jersey).

Then again, that's just one of many scenarios that could play out in the playoffs.

    Lets Go Pens!

I don't own them, but I sell them for a living.

What all are you looking for in an electronic kit?

They're a great kit if you want to just fool around and do home recordings with. But that's all they're really designed for. You have 25 kits that you can tweak and edit to your liking for whatever you want. Once you've found the sound that you like for the drum you're programing, you can actually choose how much it's muffled, how high or low you want to tune it, etc. It also has an input for a CD or mp3 player that you can plug into it so you can play along to your favorite songs. You also have several different rhythm trainers built into it so that you can work on your timing, accuracy and such.

That's pretty much the kit in a nut-shell for you. There really isn't that much else that is involved with it. Any other questions, just hit me up or call the store I work for if you'd want to deal with me directly. 412-372-8800

Oh... and ask for Matt since they don't know me by "Kazz" tongue.gif

Wow man, thanks for the response. I'm gonna go and try out a set. In that price range, is there anything better? Are they that much better than the TD3's?

    trink39.gif

In that price ranged there's also the Yamaha DTXpress III which gives you way more sounds and features than the TD4, but I haven't personally tried one out because my store doesn't stock that one so I can't give you my thoughts on the kit.

As for comparing the TD4 to the 3, the sounds are a little more realistic but it's more or less about the same as far as quality goes. I wouldn't necessarily say it's better than the TD3, but it is a little more "modern" if that helps.

The dipshitt at GCenter gave me two batter heads when I asked him for a top and bottom snare head. Never take for granted they know what they're doing. Always check to insure you have the correct heads!

You see... this is why you make sure you call my store and deal directly with me... Even if I have to ship it to you, you won't be given the wrong product wink.gif

This is an idea that I had....would replacing the stock reso head with a Remo be of any help with the buzzing?

Moreover......and I realize this sounds a little crazy.....what would be the effect of putting my old batter head where the reso currently is? I'm still learning.......

Never place the old batter head on the reso side of a snare drum ever. You'll choke the drum and practically kill any tone that it might have. Heck, never place any kind of a batter head on the reso side of a snare drum. If you want a good bottom head for your snare drum check out either a Remo Hazy Ambassador or Evans Hazy 500 if you're looking for less ring in the drum.

    f**k Crosby, f**k Bettman.

All Crosby has been since he entered the league is a marketing toy. Okay so he puts up some points, but other then that, he's just bettman's marketing toy.

Don't ever try and ruin what Gretzky accomplished by comparing Crosby to him.

You're starting to sound like a broken record dude. Either shut up or bring something new to the table. You're just as bad as the morons on TSN who keep claiming the only reason the Penguins even won the Cup last night was because the NHL rigged the series.

A marketing toy, huh? Look at the economic state of the NHL currently. They lost the majority of their fanbase when they canceled the 2004-05 season due to the lockout. What are you going to try to do to bring that fanbase back? Market the hell out of the youngest and most promising stars that you have, or just sit back and hope people are going to come to the games? So what if Crosby has his own clothing line? He's 21 years old and has a Hart Trophy, Art Ross Trophy and a Stanley Cup under his name. How many people can you honestly say have accomplished at least one of those in their lifetime? Not many. If anything, he's a smart businessman. He's taking advantage of everything that he has in his life right now and making the most of it.

Crosby along with Ovechkin, Malkin, Toews, etc are helping to bring hockey back into prominence and it's working.

You got to love it man. He is the Next Great One!

That doesn't make him the next Gretzky though. If anybody on that team is poised to be the next one, it's Malkin. And this coming from a die-hard Pens fan.

Yes, Spider Man 3 was awful!  It's one of the worst superhero movies ever!

To be honest, I really don't care if they make Spider Man 4.

Hopefully the 4th one will be another Batman & Robin and be so horrible that the franchise will linger on in development hell for many years so we won't have to be subjected to more of this crap.

    Forget Spider-Man 4; give me Batman 3!

that doesn't make any sense. why wouldn't you just hope for a good spidey flick or not see it at all if you think it's too risky? shit, i want ALL the superhero movies to be good trink38.gif

Because I don't want to see the Spider-Man franchise continue on if the movies are just going to progressively get worse and worse. And so far, they're well on their way to continuing with that trend.
