  1. QUOTE (Kenneth @ May 15 2011, 12:11 AM)
About this time last year, I heard my first real Yes song (I recall hearing owner of a lonely heart on the radio often before then eyesre4.gif )
It was The Revealing Science of God, and I listened through all of TFTO for that matter.. At the time, there was a lot of comparison between Yes and Rush here, and I, of course, didn't want Yes to be technically better than Rush.
...So when I heard Howe's intro solo in the Revealing Science of God and I instantly realized Howe was that much better than Alex, I remember my reaction.. It was as if I was losing my religion or something!

    Just a funny story I thought I'd share laugh.gif

Mine was similar, though Gary linked me to Awaken one night. I was blown away 1022.gif

I'd suggest starting with Hosianna Mantra, or Afffenstunde if you want something a little more spacey, both are great albums. As for describing their sound.. it's a little hard to do.. but it's all quite enjoyable. Anyway, like you said, Goober will probably fill you in when he sees this.

isnt that odd? when i refered to this tune as "spacey" in another thread you called me condasending...what gives?

Mhm, Showed her Subdivisions, Hemispheres, YYZ, and Caravan.
Oh, and the obligatory La Villa.

    Her reaction?

'OMG THEY ARE SO GOOD IT ISN'T EVEN FUNNY!'

Needless to say, I believe I have planted the seeds for a music filled journey for her. smile.gif

What's all this about planting your seed in young Australian girls?

  8. QUOTE (Janie @ May 2 2011, 12:39 PM)
I love oatmeal. Oh god I seriously love it. Ever since I was in my first apartment, I have always had oatmeal in the pantry. I've never had luck making it with boxed oats. I've always relied on the Quaker stuff. I don't make it with water. I warm up half-and-half instead. I like it on the thicker side.

The best oatmeal I ever had was when I worked at this cafe. It had a separate kitchen part and the chef was the meanest, most unapproachable person I have ever met but he made the best oatmeal. He would make huge massive vats of oatmeal and it would be gone in a matter of minutes. I never gathered the courage to ask him how he did it and to this day I continue to figure out how he created his gooey oat goodness.

Maybe it's better if you don't know...
