  1. A Manics/Rush jam would be excellent! (Can Alex not travel over to Vancouver, there's a few hours to go yet, I'm sure he could manage it! )
  2. Yeah, Isle Of Wight festival does tend to draw quite large crowds. Maybe not as many as Glastonbury though! I probably have seen that performance, would have watched it on the telly at the time!
  3. Cool! Glad you like them! Check out the others as well if you get the chance. Seattle gig had a good mix of songs so will be interesting to see what the setlist is for the Vancouver one. Some photos already up on some peoples photostreams.
  4. I haven't Steevo, sorry! The gig at Seattle last night/ yesterday (depending on your time zone!) sounds like it went really well! Vancouver tonight! Lucky Canadians! Alex, Neil, Ged - If you're not doing anything y'know................
  5. Reports are now coming in from those who went to see the screening and it's all positive so far, so well done! Looking forward to it's UK release!
  6. I want to see Echo & The Bunnymen in Wolverhampton here in the UK but I still haven't got round to checking for tickets so they've probably sold out by now. Dang!
  7. Thanks for those! He was very cute in his youth as well!
  8. James Dean Bradfield will be doing an in store gig and signing at Newbury Comics in Boston hours before the Manics gig on the 8th of October. You lucky people of Boston! How jealous am I?
  9. Surely you could have said more about James other than just 'He's anxious but willing' !
  10. Those clips are FANTASTIC! Thank you so much! Want to see it all now!
  11. Just noticed this thread! Cheers for the info and clips GM! Much appreciated! I think this film is an interesting piece of work for both Manics and Rush fans and I can't wait for it to be officially released! Really glad I joined this forum now!
  12. Such fun hopping between this wonderful Alex Appreciation thread and then my beloved JDB Appreciation thread on the Manics forum that I also frequent. Bass players and drummers are great but there's just that something extra about guitarists dont ya think?
  13. I love Send Away The Tigers! Just been watching a Youtube clip of the No Manifesto's documentary and James' 'Nah-nahing' is quite amusing to be fair! As well as the expressions on Sean's face, bless him! When are we gonna get to see the whole thing? Getting impatient now!
  14. Well whoever the Macc Lad's are I might check them out at some point but too busy with Manic related news at the moment! Thnaks for the links though!
  15. QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Sep 6 2009, 02:05 PM) i prefer the macc lads...... Never heard of the Macc Lads so I've no idea if they're any good or not.
  16. WibblyWobbly Productions have just posted on the Manics unofficial fan forum about a test screening for 'No Manifesto's' in New York. Just wondering is Geddy'sMullett a lady called Elizabeth who has been directing the film or is she someone else? Have PM'd GM but no reply as of yet! Thanks!
  17. Cheers Fridge! Hopefully that will encourage anyone who hasn't heard them before to have a listen!
  18. Aaaaaaaaaaw! Thanks for the supportive comments about the band. Hopefully this US tour will turn out to be a big success but will just have to wait and see. Yeah, from the things I hear from N.American/Canadian fans on other forums it can be hard to track down their records but then sometimes people unexpectedly stumble across stuff so you never know!
  19. Oooooooh! Didn't know Geddy and Alex made an appearance on it! Want to see it even more now! Wish they would hurry up and get 'No Manifesto's' released! What's happening then Geddysmullet? Do you know what he release date for it will be in the UK? Thanks!
  20. QUOTE (Gompers @ Sep 5 2009, 03:36 PM) What kind of music do they play? Ooooooooh! Here's a quick run down as their stuff is a bit mixed! Generation Terrorists - Glam/Punk (1991) Gold Against The Soul - slightly Americana/Punk/Rock (1992) The Holy Bible - goth/Punk/Rock/metal-esque ('93/'94) Everything Must Go - Britpop era (though fans don't class it as that)/Anthemic Rock (1996) This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours - Indie/Alternative/Rock (1998) Know Your Enemy - slighty grungey/ Punk/Rock/with a smidgeon of disco thrown in! (2001) Lifeblood - Experimental/Ethereal/Pop/Rock (2004) Send Away The Tigers - Anthemic/Pop/Rock (2007) Journal For Plague Lovers - occasional nods to The Holy Bible era / Punk/Rock/Indie (2009) (Think that's a reasonable summary!)
  21. QUOTE (theworkingman @ Sep 5 2009, 02:21 PM) I'll be there. First U.S shows in ten years, I couldn't pass it up. Can't wait to see them live. Great stuff! You will get a show to remember!
  22. There can't be a Rush forum without a Manics thread! The Manics are massive fans of Rush so it's only right innit? So are any of you North American/Canadian fans off to see them on tour stateside in October? What did everyone think about Journal For Plague Lovers and it's corresponding UK tour? I went to see them in Wolverhampton and it was the best gig of my life so far! Have seen the band four times live now and James on his solo tour in Stoke which was fab! Any Manics gig related anecdotes?
