  1. Isn't reading supposed to be something that helps us stretch our intellectual "muscles " once in a while? There is a need for books that are entertaining and those that make you think. I am a book lover so I guess this just makes sense to me.

     

    Vocabulary should not be the basis on which we judge books. It is not just the words that either entertain you or make you think.

     

    Never forget George Orwell's second rule of writing:

     

    Never use a long word where a short one will do.

  2. The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky. A lengthy read, yes, but it is so fulfilling and powerful. It changed my life many times. If you've ever wanted to read a long philosophical novel, please read this one instead of Atlas Shrugged (is that biased? Yes, it is, but that also serves to express my love for this book).

  4. Ok, I know I'm a Seeker,

    but how do I make colored text?

     

    All that happens is that I pick a color, and this is what shows up:

     

     

    What do I do after that? Thanks for any help.
