  1. Congrats, UConn Huskies.....

     

    My young Wildcats have nothing to be ashamed of after this game.

     

    They just missed golden opportunity after golden opportunity.

     

    I can't be upset with these young guys.....

     

    I watched the game with my 18 year old son and he is the same age as most players on that court.

     

    Sucks getting old.....

  2. By the way, I hate the St Louis Cardinals too. How about you?

     

    I am a die-hard Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals fan.

     

    I don't like the St. Louis Cardinals or the Pittsburgh Steelers.

     

    But with this stated, I have a great respect for both franchises.

     

    Both franchises want to win championships.

     

    My professional teams and fellow fans seem content on just making the playoffs.

     

    (I have been a UK Wildcats basketball fan and an Ohio State Buckeyes football fan since the early 70s)

  3. To the "axe grinding" point, you are right that I don't like the UK program in ways that go beyond basketball.

     

    Life is way too short to be this bitter......

     

    I love supporting my favorite sports teams.

     

    But displaying a constant "Axe to Grind" attitude towards a certain team(s) is a waste of time and energy in my opinion.

     

    And if I recall correctly, you have been bitter towards the UK Wildcats since the 70s.

    Beat Michigan.....

     

    That was one of the grittiest wins I've seen in a long time. Playing all 40 minutes, making those free throws, and getting CLUTCH play at the end.

    I think Marvin Lewis is still doing a decent job. The offense was completely inert against the Browns last week, so he does have to make some things happen this week to get it going back in the right direction. Favored against the Pats this week, right on, right on...

     

    I think it's terrible that the Reds showed Dusty the door. He is by far the best manager they've had since Sparky Anderson. I understand that Dusty had a vexing problem with postseason play, but seriously, three 90-or-more win seasons in a row, and they boot him? It doesn't make sense to me at all.

     

    Marvin Lewis is doing a piss poor job!!!

    81-82-1 in 11 years?

    0-4 in playoff games?

    He is a "yes" man....

    And a very poor "game day" manager!

     

    Dusty Baker was fired because of his playoff record!

    And his lack of control of the clubhouse.

     

    You obviously do not watch the Bengals and Reds year after year after year!

    And in the previous 12 years, they were 55-137. And 0-0 in the playoffs.

     

    Marvin may not be able to take them much further, but he's way better than anything they had in the previous decade..

     

    Wow....

     

    You sound just like the local folks around here in the Tri-State!

    I concur with your assessment of the Civil War of 1863.

     

    If the Confederates lost the Battle of Chickamauga, would the Civil War have ended?

     

    The Confederates won this battle but it also sealed their fate spilling into 1864.

     

    1864 was a bloodbath for the Confederacy.....

    * Franklin

    * Nashville
