  1. This will be the last Spoiler, unfortunately hes done working there and won't be going back.

    No offense, but... good.

In an unprecedented move, the band/management has made EVERYONE involved in the tour so far, sign ND agreements (Non Disclosure). In layman's terms, by signing one, you legally agree to: Keep your f***ing mouth shut about everything!

Whether his info is accurate or not, this "spoiler source" who signed one of those agreements, chose to thumb his nose at it and rather, share alleged info with someone who admittedly opened at least one account on a forum, to specifically go public with it.

Your "source" is a person of little character who has zero respect for the Rush organization. And neither do you, My Friend... neither do you.

  2. If the 35 shows are it this is a Wussy Tour. "Our last big tour of this Magnitude", The Who are playing over 50 gigs, Scorpions have over 60 scheduled, Yes usually plays over 60 a year. There are many more examples than just these bands. Dont get me wrong I'm sure the concert will be Great just dont want to hear how this is a Huge tour. It's Not.

Is it possible that in this case, the word "huge" or phrase "of this magnitude", simply means something like, important or spectacular or amazing?

These days, very few older bands are playing with all original members, like Rush (IMO, Neil counts as an original member). Hell, I think Scorpions are on their 8th bass player and maybe their 11th drummer. I suppose if a band was able to keep replenishing their supply of musicians, as needed, they could tour indefinitely. But with just one or two original members, aren't they then just essentially, cover bands?

So, the fact that Rush is still touring with all original members, and able to perform at the level they do, despite the often merciless technicality of their music, to me, is pretty huge... as in, spectacular and amazing. :D

  3. FOH I'm sure you know how crazy the people on this board get when it comes to this band, you certainly have us more excited with your recent comments. Any chance you can give us a small tease about anything, for example will a certain classic prog classic segue into one of their most recent hits, lol. Or is whoever started that apparent rumour full of you know what...

Heheheh, sorry, I don't know who started "the rumor". Do you??

  4. This means that their employees can be trusted to keep their mouths shut. :)

Haha, well that's basically true! This time has been more hush hush than ever, and definitely by design. What I can say is that the show itself will be incredible, with some never before seen effects, and just a whole bunch of what every LD/Pyro guy dreams of. Add to that the fact that the band sounds as tight and professional as ever, and this will be, IMO, the show of shows. Certainly, a very appropriate way for them to make their exit. Even if you have to beg, borrow, or steal (OK, maybe not steal), don't miss this one!

That being said, I'm more than pretty sure that some leaks/photos will be seen before too long... :D

  5. I only meant to suggest there may be reasons that Neil might say yes to an eventual European version of R40. Exposing children to great world travel is among the many things the successful like to do.

I'm guessing that you also believe in the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus?

It's not that hard so, try and stay with me here:

After this US tour, Neil will NEVER tour again... EVER. It's no secret that he has hated touring for years and he couldn't be happier that the finish line is finally within sight. If he wants to travel the world with his daughter, I'm more than pretty sure that he can afford to do it without the band & crew.

  6. FOH:

Just one question for you: Are THESE 34 cities IT or will this tour take on another leg? I'm mostly asking in reference to the possibility of any European dates to be added to R40, as I am holding off on an earlier trip to Europe in hopes that they may announce some European dates because I can't go twice in such a short span, it's go now or wait for RUSH when they go and I'm in a quandary trying to hold out for news.

DON'T hold out for a European tour.

  7. I didn't read the whole thread, but this WILL be the last Rush tour. I can't say what Geddy & Alex will do, but after this, Neil will never tour again. Seriously, the writing has been on the wall for a number of years - it's just now coming to fruition for him. And hey, they all had a great run and deserve to enjoy their remaining years, in whatever way they want to.

See Rush this time around, or never see 'em again...

  8. I've never been formally introduced, but over the years I have seen him many times backstage & at sound checks. His initial reaction to me was just a cold, icy stare as he'd pass by - no words spoken by either of us. But as time went on, he started to "soften up" a bit - first it was just a slight nod of acknowledgement, but as time went on and he apparently became more comfortable with my presence, things eventually evolved into the proverbial, "how's it going?". That's where we're at right now and I'm fine with that. I really have no overwhelming desire to converse with him much beyond that.

I did run into Michael fueling up his bike close to the venue in VA last year. He was surprisingly talkative.

I don't understand why he feels the need to consider many of us a threat. I remember on BTLS, one of the men interviewed told about his meeting with Neil and how Neil greeted him with the same cold, icy look.

Clearly, it's a defense mechanism. I can certainly understand him giving off that kind of vibe until he knows someone's true intent/motives.

  10. FOH Lights, do you know some crew members who have confirmed that they know nothing of a 2015 tour?

Yes. I haven't spoken to all of them, but as of a week ago, Jack, Howard, and even Donovan, had yet to hear anything. None of them seem too concerned about it, though. In typical Rush fashion, it'll happen when it happens.

Would they tell you? Maybe they were told not to say anything until an official announcement is made?

I'm asking because it does worry me that we haven't heard a word yet.

Of course they would. I'm a friend first and a Rush fan somewhere around 5th so, me leaking info when it's not supposed to be, isn't a concern.

    I wouldn't worry too much - it's gonna happen.

  11. Spring of 2015. I couldn't get much more out of him, other than we should be hearing tour news later in the fall. He's in the live venue industry..........and, he's teased me correctly like this before, with other bands.

Hmmm, it's interesting that your "venue guy" has mentioned this. Especially since NONE of the crew has heard one word about it yet. His source must be incredibly deep inside...

So if this tour ends up happening, does it seem like it's gonna be the last hurrah?

No one openly speaks about such things. I've always felt that the ultimate decision will Neil's.

  12.

... or regular things that they might do on a regular/semi-regular basis up there.

Well, Geddy has season tickets for the Blue Jays behind home plate. I suppose you could attend a game, bring binoculars, and hope to catch a glimps of him.

I also heard that every other Thursday he shops for Franzia Burgundy, gluten free bagels, and biodegradable toilet tissue at the Whole Foods Market on 87th ave. So... :eh:

  13. I still think they have 3 tours in them. 2015 Anniversary, new album tour, then the farewell tour in 2018.

Heheheh, that's pretty optimistic! 2015 is definite and preliminarily in the works. After that, we'll see how Neil feels. Myself, as well as some others, would feel lucky to see a 2nd tour, and outright shocked to see a 3rd.
