  1. I bought a few of the tourbooks back in the 80s. The only way I would ever want anything signed from someone is if I was there and they signed it for me personally. I'm sure all 500 will sell though. I'd rather use the $500 for opening day tickets on their next tour. Oh it's just a memory, some memories last forever.

Right now the division belongs to the Bengals until the Steelers step up and take it from them!!! We shall see tomorrow how bad the Steelers want it.  trink39.gif

Tomorrow may just be the turning point for what is to come the rest of the season -- hoping for a Win -- but with Ben injuries not to sure

No doubt!!! This could be a turning point. If we lose then I say it's all over for the Steelers. If we win then it could give us momentum to kick some ass the rest of the season. I am a little worried to be honest. They have the players to get the job done but we shall see tomorrow. If the bengals win then good for them, their fans deserve a great season for a change, it's been like 15 years since they had a winning season, they are due thats for sure. My brother has been a bengals fan since they have been in existance so I would be happy for him but as a Steeler fan it would make me puke if they lose tomorrow lol. Do or die time!!!!

I know!! That's why they got to win tomorrow ahahahaha. trink39.gif

I'm just speculating here, I can't think of any other reason anyone would take the time to rub it in when a team loses that they "aren't jealous" of.

Please help me out if there is a good reason that people do this each time. If it's not jealousy then what is it?

Well, i didn't come in here when the colts beat you. I woulda' come in if the Chargers won the monday night game.

You are a chargers fan though so I could see that. That wouldn't urk me at all. It's all in fun, if your team beats mine then that's cool to give me a little hell when they beat the steelers. I can handle that!!

It's just when people go out of their way to rag on my team when a team that they don't even like beats the steelers. Actually it doesn't really bother me but when I call those people jealous or a hater they shouldn't get pissed off about it or deny it. I explained that if the Steelers sucked for 5 years in a row that people wouldn't even bother raggin on them when they lose. Why would they? There wouldn't be a reason to hate them and be jealous if they sucked. laugh.gif People can deny it all they want but I know I'm right about this.

OK, bro, if the Steelers meet up with the Chargers in the playoffs I will bet you on it and the loser shaves their head and posts the pic. ahahahaha that would be funny. I'm not scared!!! ahahahahaha

Like I said before, the Steelers better start playing better if they even want to THINK about going to the playoffs!!!! Right now the division belongs to the Bengals until the Steelers step up and take it from them!!! We shall see tomorrow how bad the Steelers want it. trink39.gif

P.S. Yes, I know what you mean about the playoff game between the Chargers and Steelers in 1994. The Steelers were over confident and they had AFC championship winner T-shirts for sale in the parking lot BEFORE the game. I bought one. doh.gif ....................... I lost a bet the next year to a chargers fan and instead of the $20 we bet he wanted that T-shirt instead so I gave it to him. He laughs about that everytime I talk to him. He lives in Denver and plays in a band with my cousin and he's a long time Chargers fan, really cool guy but I dread hearing from him because he always has to bring up that playoff loss LOL.... I guess we deserve it though because everyone thought the Steelers had that game won before it started. I learned my lesson that year and it was a LONG ride home from Pittsburgh after that loss.

  5. Chet Atkins smokes a lot of those mentioned IMO. Unless we are just talking about great rock guitarists only. Good list though, can't argue with most picks, maybe not the order they are in or anything but they all are great as far as I am concerned.

As far as Kurt Cobain being an overrated guitar player, I don't know too many who rate him very high as a guitar player so I don't see him as being an overrated guitar player. He's a great song writer though. His guitar playing is very limited but he did what it took to get his point across.

  6. Makes sense. Everyone has some really great points about this. To be honest, I just want Rock Music to stick around for a while. Sometimes I wonder because of how much rap is played and how younger kids enjoy it so much but I think there will always be a place for good ol rock-n-roll and long live the new age rockers.

Just from reading a lot of the posts on this forum it seems to me that a lot of people hate more music than they like. I read a lot more bad stuff about music than I do good stuff about it anymore and that seems really strange but I guess people are pretty picky. It's hard for me to put down music that is selling millions of copies because it seems like SOMEONE likes it or else it wouldn't sell.

There are bands that I like a couple of their songs like for instant the Black Eyed Peas. I mean, I don't think they are "great musicians" or anything but a couple of the songs I heard from them are kind of catchy and I find myself singing them a couple hours later so I'm not sure if I like it or not, I guess I wouldn't be singing them if I didn't like em. Eh? I actually think some of the songs that I kind of like are pretty rediculous lol. It's hard to admit I even like them too. laugh.gif Music is weird like that.

All I ask is for people to keep on rocking, and keep putting out music that they like. If they like it enough to put it out, chances are other people will like it too. I love music laugh.gif

Sometimes I think that I'm just getting old. I thought that the first second that I started posting on this thread but I didn't really totally realize it until I saw someone else post it. They have a point, I am almost 40 years old.

OLD MAN!!!! Sometimes I think that part of my personality disorder that prevents me from seeing how big of a dick I am also prevents me from realizing that I am getting old too. I act like I am 12 years old sometimes but lets face it, I'm getting up there!!!

Again, I think it will be a close game. Matter of fact, I predict an overtime victory by the Steelers.

    Steelers 24
    Bengals 21

EXTRA EXTRA: An extra prediction............. I think Big Ben will have one of his highest passing games to date with 298 yards and 3 TD's.

Thats a pretty bold prediction considering his injured thumb on his throwing hand wink.gif .......

I predict an apperance from Mr. XFL hahahaha na just playin who knows it will be a great game to watch either way

He also had 2 knee surgeries this season. He's a tough guy!!! Lets hope his thumb isn't that bad.

  8. QUOTE (tangdog @ Dec 2 2005, 02:19 PM)
My guess is the state of music is the same as it always has been. You know, the more that things change........

Its probably a sign of middle to old age when you stop liking modern music or take the outlook that todays music scene is weak in comparison to those of past years. I think its human nature to bond with and appreciate the most, the music you were exposed to at a certain point in your life the most, like your teens or early 20's. I also think its important to be continually checking out new music.

I am 39 and think todays music is quite exciting particulary from a instrumental progressive rock standpoint. If nothing else, saying that modern music is inferior to yesterdays ensures that you will not see many concerts.

To think that the music of yesteryear is better makes about as much sense to me as saying the athletes back then were better.  Its human nature to take it to the next level and I look forward to what the future has to bring.

I see what you mean about middle age or old age and that being a reason people don't like newer music as much. But I don't agree with the athlete comparison. They have a lot more equipment to train and work out with now and athletes pay a lot more attention to diets and all that to get as strong as they possibly can. Not to mention there is a lot more people on earth to choose from than say 30-40 years ago. So I would have to say that athletes are for the most part stronger on average than they were years ago. Art/Music is different than athletes and how they can get stronger. You can teach someone everything about music and that still don't mean they are going to write good music. I know people who were trained in music and they know a lot about theory and they have the best equipment in the world and yet the music they play lacks feeling. You cannot teach FEEL.

I do agree that a lot of people are getting older and thats the reason they don't like newer music as much. That makes sense but the athlete comparison to musicians don't make sense to me.

I just think that music for the most part gets stale after a while when theres not really anything new that can be done anymore. It seems like everything has been done already and when I hear new music I hear a lot of people pretty much copying off of stuff that has already been done many times. You can only do something over and over so much before it becomes stale. If I was 20 years old again and never heard all the older music that had so much creativity then I would probably think that new music is just as good too. This is all peoples opinions though so no one can win an arguement like this, it's just how people think. You made a lot of sense when you talked about people getting old.

However I do think that the equipment used today compared to years ago is superior and it makes a lot of tunes sound more kick ass than a lot of older music. But still the creativity don't seem to be there and to me that is what it's all about. There are a lot of good bands out there now as many people are saying but I think the rock-n-roll peak is well passed it's peak. I just hope the musicians keep playing it and rap don't totally take over because that would be a damn shame. It seems like most younger kids love rap and the arenas have a hard time selling tickets to new rock and roll shows when they should be selling more than before because there is a lot more people on earth now than there were 20-30 years ago. Most shows that sell out quickly are the bigtime bands from yesterday like the Rolling Stones, U2, The Eagles, etc etc. I just hope rock-n-roll don't die off and it may because the kids and people who buy albums and go to concerts are more into rap than rock anymore. I cringe when I think of the music scene in 20 more years.

They have been to the Big game AS MUCH AS the Patriots!!! Not only THAT but they won more than the Patriots too. Get your facts straight!!!! I watched all 5 times that they have been there!!!! Winning 4 of those 5 times!!!!

this reminds me of a select group of fans when i visited NYC a couple years ago when the RED SOX won game 6 in the ACLS. a truly weak retreat to pull up the past to make you feel better aboutt he present.

fact: the steelers are not america's team.

fact: the steelers need to win the big ones and THE BIG ONE. all the wins during the regular season have blinded you to what the real focus should be yes.gif

The Steelers lost 2 in a row for the first time since 2003, a span of 35 games. It's a good time to start dogging them for sucking!! hahahahah, you better hurry though.

Before these road losses the Steelers won 11 straight road games. Not bad!!! DAMN THEY SUCK!!!! ahahahahahahahaha

Since Cowher has been coach the Steelers won 11 out of 11 home games on monday night football. In other words, Cowher never lost a home game on monday night as the Steelers head coach.

Before last weeks game, the Steelers beat the Colts 9 times in a row!!!

The Steelers gave up over 100 yards rushing to E. James last week. Before that they hadn't gave up 100 yards on the ground for 22 straight games!!!

After reading all these stats I am starting to understand the hatred toward them. People hate winners!!! ahahahahaha

Boy Indica, is that all you can do is talk about the Steelers glory days?

LMFAO.......... Is this talking about their glory days? No, these are all recent stats but according to you they don't mean anything because they didn't win the super bowl. LOL

interesting come-back. you claim that they are the new AMERICA'S TEAM yet they haven't won the big one recently. how do you explain that? i'm still waiting yes.gif

What I mean is they have tons of fans all over the country and the world. I watch a lot of football and when I see the Steelers play road games in Cali I see TONS AND TONS of steeler fans in the crowd. I went to a STEELER/BENGALS game in Cincinnati, and (no lie) there were 75% Steeler fans there, AN AWAY GAME!!!!!!! They have a huge fan base and I don't see any other team that has as many fans at away games. You said they have STEELER BARS in California, that surprized me, you know what, they have a lot of Steeler Bars in Ohio too. I go to other States and I don't see say "Seahawk" bars in Texas, I don't see Browns Bars in Tennesee. Are you following me now?

I said they are the new Americas team because their great fan base all over the country. ITS HUGE!!!

UNDERSTAND THAT? You know what's cool? They haven't won a super bowl for 25 years so these people aren't fans JUST because they are winning a shit load of super bowls, they are fans because they LOVE THE STEELERS!!!!!

Did I make that clear enough for you? Did you have to wait too long before I gave you a kick ass answer? heh

    QUOTE (daveyt @ Dec 2 2005, 08:54 PM)
btw: you can have all the statistics you want but let's be honest; those stats you love mean nothing unless you win it all. if they don't, the steelers will end up like atlanta (BB) and i think you would be in denial if you really settled for the stats rather than winning in the big show.

since you skipped this quote it's obvious this hit home. i'll let you re-read it.

I read that ignorant quote. Those stats mean a lot to me since I am a true fan. Unlike fair weather band wagon jumping fans, I like the steelers no matter what. They could go another 50 years without winning the super bowl again and I would still love them and EVERY GAME would "mean something" to me. My guess is you will like another team as soon as the pats start sucking again. Just a hunch.

That's the difference, I wouldnt go to a pats bar and root against them because I could care less if they win or not, well unless they were playing MY Steelers of course.

Quotes like that are the reason people band wagon jump, so they can say silly quotes like that.

"Boy, unless you win the super bowl like my team did the last 3 out of 4 times then your team sucks"

Loyalty. I am proud to say that I have it. Black and gold for life, win or lose. Ya, it's like that LOL.

Quote on all you want, I know what's up. yes.gif

    - Steeler fan for 30 years, no 2nd favorite team, will never be a fan of anyone else in my lifetime. So little quotes like that doesn't bother me at all. Every steeler games has meaning to me, and yes, all the stats I posted are great stats to have. Sure a true fan like me wants them to win the super bowl every year but I am realistic about things. I would like to see another super bowl win in my lifetime but if I dont then thats life. Winning 1 out of every 10 super bowls is good enough for me at this point. If you want to rag on peoples teams not going to the super bowl or winning games then theres a lot better choices than the steelers ahahahahahahaha.
