I am wondering what song brought you to Rush? What is the first song you heard by them? For me it was "The Spirit Of Radio" A friend in high school told me about it but didn't know the name of the song. I discovered the song and I have been a Rush fan ever since.Nootch, we discovered Rush about the same time. TSOR was also the song that hooked me into Rush. I kept hearing it on WLS-AM.
It was 1980 and I was a high school freshman. I probably heard it on WRIF-FM or WLLZ-FM, my two favorites at the time.

Gotta be "The Spirit Of Radio"

Gotta be "Permanent Waves"

Definitely "Closer to The Heart"
I get goosebumps when I hear it and I spontaneously sing along!

QUOTE (ChroniclesOfRush @ Oct 15 2008, 09:52 AM) The Larger Bowl? The Larger Bowl got my vote. It just reaches deep down emotionally. I can't explain it.

QUOTE (Mothers Boy @ Dec 20 2008, 04:59 PM) A Passage To Bangkok gets my vote. 2112 is phenominal but there is just something about APTB that just reaches into my soul. Get's my vote

I came to Rush in 1980 when I first heard The Spirit of Radio. While I haven't been able to see a concert yet... I will next time through. It's always been fun buying that new Rush recording and opening it the first time. There is always that anticipation right before playing it. I really haven't been disappointed yet.
GO WINGS!!!!
GO LIONS!!!!! woe and 16
You've not seen them live...my sympathy.
Thanks... It's been my own damn fault! My daughter was going to take me for Fathers Day last June, but I discouraged her because the tickets were expensive and it was on a school night. I've also had to turn down tickets or skip for other reasons in past years. I'll get there yet.
