  1. I was in the second row in front of Geddy and I was physically exhausted by shows end from the excitement and how hard the show ROCKED!!!! 1022.gif What a fantastic show! The energy was unbelievable! My head has been swarming with the images and music for two days!

PS It was hilarious when Geddy dismissed the strings ensemble by saying something to the effect of we will say "A farewell to strings" rofl3.gif

It means nothing for the most part.

This setlist is pretty set in stone save for a song or two maybe being dropped and replaced.

But a overhaul is not even a remote possibility.

I think next year we will get a slight revamp but a lot of the same core of this AMAZING set list.

They already played R-30 and the TM tour.

Time for the mid 80's classics for that segment of their fan base.

Cool thing is....I love all their periods. It's all good to me.

    Agree 100%

  3. 7.5

For me Far Cry is one of their all time best songs. So is Working Them Angels.

As I reckon it the album is #6 on my list.

  4. I've not cooled on it at all. I listen to it once or twice a day. I always have one of the songs stuck in my head. I'm listening to Seven Cities of Gold as I type and that song ROCKS!!!! 1022.gif

This is easily in my top 7 albums and may crack the top five.

  5. Couldn't find a mention of this in a search...the clock on the album cover reads 9:12 which is 21:12 on a 24 hour clock. Thought that was really cool nod to the album that really launched them.
  6. After listen to the entire album twice (it was a Fathers Day present along with a VIP package 1022.gif ) it came down to "The Anarchist" and "Seven Cities of Gold". After very careful scientific experimentation and putting the songs throught their paces (eenie-meenie-miny-moe) I voted "Seven Cities of Gold"
  7. I think Alex should be higher too, but, wasn't the list derived from the votes of other guitar players. Alex himself voted, as someone else said. I realize Rolling Stone is no friend to 2.gif but I really don't see how they can be blamed when the list was a vote of guitar players.

Records in general, not just Rush records, are too long.

I actually miss the limitations of vinyl... not just because of the length, but also the mastering (another argument for another time).

Still, I find a 45 minute statement is much easier to digest than a 70-80 minute one. Inevitably, the creativity is always stretched a little thin over the longer running time.

I might just be a jaded old fart... but I miss the days of doing shorter records but putting them out quicker.

Sure, you only got a 7 song album, but in 12 months you had another one. Better than waiting four years for a 12 song album.

    Amen!!! goodpost.gif
