  1. Saw the Atlanta show and said to my buddy at one point "you can actually hear Alex". I just wish he would try to sing a harmony rather than just doubling Ged. I guess he's doing what he can.

Also on the topic of vocals, during Time Stand Still when Ged sings "I'm not looking back...." I wish he would sing that an octave down like it sounds on the record. But that's a minor complaint. The show was awesome as usual. Living legends they are.

Here's a idea that me and some of my friends came up with. You take the number of years you've been a fan and divide it by the number of concerts you've been to, and the answer is your concert factor! The lower the number, the better.

The formula you have devised penalizes long-time fans who might not have been big concert-goers (as if any of this really matters anyway). How about multiplying your 2 numbers instead? What would the max score be? (# of years since first album released) x (# of concerts they have ever played) = max score.

Using your formula my score is 4 (20 years, 5 concerts), but using MY formula, my score is 100! Woo hoo! I got a hundred!

ONE SMALL DETAIL ON THE START OF THE TAB

    G--------------------------------------9-HAMMERON>11---9--
    D------------------------11--9--11-----------------------------
    A---------7 -SLIDE>--------------------------------------------
    E-------0 <---OPEN NOTE STAB FIRST

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK?

I don't know BassLik. It's a little hard to figure out what's going on in that tab snippet you offered. In any case, it's a lovely little lick Geddy gives us there.

Here's the riff you speak of... see if my cheezy tab makes sense:

    G------------------------------------------------9------9-11-9-------------
    D------------11--9--11--9-------------9-11-----11-----------11-9-7------
    A---7----7-------------------11--7------------------------------------------
    E------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey, thanks for this. I am a little suspicious of that last 7 on the D string, though. I was playing around with it last night and I'd like to suggest that the last note is actually an 11 on the A string (a G#) which would be the major 3rd of the E chord. The 7 on the D string is an A which doesn't seem to work for my ear. But thanks for tabbing this out for me. I've loved that riff for a long time.

Another favorite galloping bass run is from Time Stand Still. I know you know the one I'm referring to! Have you tabbed that one out?

    Thanks!

  5. Just saw my post and the tab I put in there is whacked out. Here are the notes:

    - - - - - -|

    - 11 9 11 9 _|

    7 - - - - 11|

    - - - - - -|

    This top one is:

    E-C#-B-C#-B-G#-E

    OR

    - - - - 9 -|

    - 11 9 11 - 11|

    7 - - - - -|

    - - - - - -|

    E-C#-B-C#-E-C#-E

    Hope this helps...

  6. Hello all....this is my first post to therushforum! I've been thinking about the bass line in Xanadu from Exit Stage Left (or any live version, really). On the record, after the extended intro, when the song finally kicks in, Alex is playing an E5 (hitting the low E on the and of 1 and then strumming the rest of the chord), Geddy plays the following (forgive my rough attempt at tabbing this out)

    - - - - - -|

    - 11 9 11 9 -|

    7 - - - - 11|

    - - - - - - |

    OR

    - - - - 9 -|

    - 11 9 11 - 11|

    7 - - - - -|

    - - - - - -|

But when playing it live, Geddy adds a veeeerrry cool little lick in there every 2nd or 4th time through. Does anyone know what I'm referring to? All the notes are in the E chord, but I cannot figure it out. Anyone feel like tabbing it out for me?

    Thanks everyone!

    Mike
