  1. There is no denying that Microsoft have stepped up their game. IE 11 is much, much better than the previous versions from even a few years ago.

Safari hasn't evolved, but its usability is easy, and that's why it's appealing. On a non-Apple product, though, it's unfeasible because it will let in viruses. Plus, the latest Safari browser for Windows isn't the latest browser for Mac.

  2. Okay, I am making the switch to Mac from Windows, just ordered a brand new Macbook Pro from Apple. I am completely a newbie to Apple computers, although I've played around with them once or twice at college.

I don't want a lecture on how Windows is better, or anything like that. I still plan to use Windows. But what are some good Mac OSX programs that can record music? I know Pro Tools is a good one for either Windows or Mac, but I don't want to throw $800 at something like that. What are some cheaper alternatives?

And yes, I know GarageBand comes with it. Looking forward to that. But what else?

  3. This is great! I'm a huge fan of Yes as well, all of their lineups, and would have loved this...

    Except...

It would have been a disaster. Squire is one lazy f*cker. A producer has to get the best out of the musicians. Squire's sloth-like approach to life would have driven the guys demented. He would have been found impaled on one of Geddy's basses after a week.

I doubt he was ever considered.

You're probably right. Chris Squire is a great songwriter, but he has a terrible track record for producing other people's work (and sometimes, even his own band.) The best work of Yes has always been when Jon Anderson or Trevor Rabin or Trevor Horn produced them, as well as anybody except Squire.
