Best broker sites? I feel that is an oxymoron. It's like asking "Who is the nicest rapist?"

    goodpost.gif

Seriously, can some one please tell me how this isn't scalping? I'm honestly just curious...I just can't - for the life of me - figure out why I would get arrested for standing outside the venue trying to sell my ticket for $700 but the broker sites get away with it free & clear? confused13.gif

I don't fault anyone here that may sell on those sites or those that don't have a problem paying that kind of a price for a ticket. I love Rush, but I wouldn't even pay $700 for a front row seat to see Jesus Christ reciting George Carlin's 7 Words You Can't Say on TV.

No Michigan stop.  sad.gif  And we've always been so good to them here. (To add insult to injury, I'm listening right this moment to a commercial that Huey Lewis & The News are coming to Pine Knob this summer. WTF!)

Oh well...maybe I'll be able to make it to Mohegan Sun. Or convince the hubby that he really wants to spend his birthday weekend in Toronto.

What about Sarnia, that's pretty close.

Now how did I miss seeing that?? Thank you! Sarnia is definitely closer for me.

The hubs said he wouldn't mind spending his b-day in Toronto even if it meant "having" to go to a Rush concert. (He's not a fan but bless his heart he'll go for me.) Dare I dream to see them twice in one month??

  3. But if there's anyway you can swing getting 2 tix for you and your daughter, I'd do that in a heartbeat. It's an experience she'd never forget.

You didn't say how old she is though. If she's very young, I'd leave her at home and treat myself. But if she's older (tween/teen age), I would most likely suck it up and take her.

  5. I prefer straight leg. I've got a bit of a J-Lo, Kim Kardashian booty so I prefer something that sits a little lower and conforms to the butt. And contrary to what the "fashion experts" say, I don't think a wider ankle balances out my shape.

I used to wear NY & Co's East Side boot cuts and loved them because they sat at my hips nicely. Unfortunately, they stopped making them.

Now the jeans that I like best are plain ol' Levi's 515's. A guy stopped me once at Toys R Us and said "I don't mean to be crass, but your behind could sell a million of those jeans." OK, odd place for someone to bring that up but I was flattered all the same. blush4.gif Especially since he didn't attempt any further come on after that...simply walked away.

Speaking of Mom Jeans...Mischa Barton was just spotted out the other day wearing some banana yellow mom jeans. http://thesuperficial.com//bfm_gallery/2010/04/Mischa%20Barton%20leaving%20Starbucks%20in%20LA%204-4-2010/gallery_main/gallery_main-0405_mischa_wtf_11.jpg

Da%$ ticket houses buy them all, triple the price within minutes of them going on sale.

I'm still trying to figure out how that's legal.

If I tried selling tickets for 3x face value outside the venue, I'd be arrested for scalping. But a corporation can do the very same thing over the internet and it's just considered "doing business." angry.gif

And another....and another....and maybe just one more to make sure that my vision is still good. I'm only looking out for my health, you know. cool.gif

I just did a quick google image on her. This is her at her lowest weight:

Crystal now, in Glamour magazine just a couple months ago:

    http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y149/iluvgeddy/crystalrenn.jpg

Her head looks disproportionately large in that first pic - which is usually what happens.

I much prefer the pin-up girl shape she has now.

If you read the book, please report on it. Sounds interesting.

  9. QUOTE (Garden Dancer @ Jun 2 2009, 11:33 PM)
Hazel eyes are the only ones that I know that change in any colour... As much as Geddy's change, I'd say Hazel. cool.gif

Eyes do change color, even as people grow. My eyes are blue, but every so often my right eye actually turns green. (And only the right one.) Not a vibrant green, more of a blue/green. People can't tell unless they are right up in my face. But I've had complete strangers point it out to me. My hubby's eyes were like ice when we first met 20 yrs ago...absolutely silver/grey. They darkened to blue and now they are a silvery-green.

I'd agree with hazel for Geddy also. In the video for Mystic Rhythms, there's a close up of his face and his eyes seem definitely brown. But in that picture above, they seem definitely green.

But I'd stare into those eyes no matter what color they were.

Wow. Yeah... This is what I like to see on a Monday morning.

Hell, I'd like to see that in person every morning!

  12. QUOTE (PassTheAmmunition @ Oct 20 2008, 12:45 PM)
I'm sorry - but this idea isnt working for me. Not Rush songs. You need very simplified rock beats for a stripper in order to have it be effective. Rush has too many time signature changes and offbeat transitions, you will look like you have no rhythm if you attempt to dance to them.

I haven't been to many strip clubs where the girls actually had to dance to the beat of the song. And yes, I do go to strip clubs rather often with my husband...I'd rather go to a club where women are stripping than one where men are. Cleaner, quieter. Though a girl has to really do some acrobatics on that pole to get my money. Women are just pigs, and everything women think happens when men go to clubs happens when women do. OMG, I've never seen so much grabbing & groping and nastiness.

    Anyhoo...

I have stripped for my husband to Freewill. Seems a little odd at first, but towards the end of the song there, you can get some pretty good moves going.

There's a bikini bar in the city next to mine where the girls all dance to hard core heavy metal music. Never been in there myself because it looks rather skanky from the outside. But my husband said the girls do an ok job of it.

    yes.gif I would.

On a side note: I saw Carrot Top on Chelsea Handler's show the other day...and immediately thought of this place. And my answer is still no, I would NOT hit that.

I just wasted 24 years of my life, and now I have to piece together how to go on.

You didn't totally waste 24 years. You have your two children.

I don't have much advice to give. I just wanted to offer you an ear, a shoulder and a hug2.gif

Just had to bring this one back
    for Geddy's Birthday!

After all, we couldn't be celebrating his Birthday without his Mom! heart.gif

Yes, we must all be very appreciative of his mother.

    Happy Birthday, Geddy!

Wow, that picture almost looks like Steve Vai.

But it's a great pic of Geddy!
