  1. yeah, no setlist changes according to Ged in his interview last week with Mr. I'm a cool guy that's all tatted out but I cant remember one friggin question without looking at my note cards. What a choade.

Questions like. "It must've been so cool recording that album, what was it like?"

  2. In that interview last week with the idiot reading note cards and asking stupid questions, Geddy said there would be no changes on this tour because it's so short with about 40 dates. ON longer tours they can tool with it but he said there is really no point.

Sorry everyone this set list is weak sauce. Very weak. Working Them Angels? Leave That Thing Alone in the first set on its own? ZZZZZZ...Faithless? ZZZZZZ. Stick It Out the worst CP song next to Speed of Love? Seriously, once word spreads that this is the set list you are going to see the fence sitters stay home. I met one in Best Buy today when buying the movie and he hadn't gotten his tickets yet to the NJ show he was planning on going to with his friends and I told him the rumored set list.

He was pissed. Fan since 76 and was not happy at all. I have been a fan since 79 and I like all era's of Rush but I am being a realist here...this set blows.

why are you such a putz. next time i see you im going to tell you how ridiculous your 22" wheels look on that Gremlin you drive. Piss up a rope you friggin wet blanket.

Here's how I TRULY feel about this setlist now..

    1. Spirit of Radio - HELL YES!

    2. Time Stands Still - YES!

    3. Stick It Out - OK! (but could be something else.. but not complaining)

    4. Presto - perfectly fine with it, but my only worry is I'll feel sleepy during it if it's not "hard" enough. Especially after the first few high energy songs.

    5. Workin' Them Angels - UGGH!

    6. Leave That Thing Alone - AWESOME!

    7. Faithless - DOUBLE UGGH!!

    8. BU2B - my lesser favourite of the two new songs, but still good!

    9. Freewill - YES!

    10. Marathon - I think I just creamed myself!

    11. Subdivisions - Already seen it live but pretty sure I'll ALWAYS love this one.

12-18. Moving Pictures album - the reason why I was eagerly buying tickets from the get-go! 1022.gif

    19. Caravan - I can't WAIT to hear this one live!

20-21. Solos - Can't wait for Neil's. The highlight of the entire show, for me.

    22. Closer To The Heart - Meh.

    23. 2112 - 1022.gif 1022.gif 1022.gif ......... says it all right there

    24. Far Cry - Good! But as an encore?!

    25. La Villa Strangiato - The driving force behind making me reconsider this setlist when i didn't liek it at first glance. My favourite Rush song! common001.gif

    26. Working Man - ..and I thought I'd cream myself only once tonight biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I am digging this tour now, despite my original claims.

100% agree on all of it.

  5. I have some disappointments with the setlist too but what band do you ever see and not come out thinking "I wish they would've played this or that"....?

I'm bringing my 12-14 yr old teen kids and they are thrilled to just to get a chance to see them. So we have to sit through a couple yawners. Pee break!

BTW, for a number of reasons I have a feeling this is their last tour. I may be wrong, but I see more dissension among the band, they're getting older, I don't see this going on forever and this is not the kind of band to do a farewell tour. I doubt any of them need the money.

  6. the stage doesnt look 100% complete. all of Alex's electronics are missing. But it looks like the machines behind Alex are labelled Hughes & Ketner. Must be new models! laugh.gif

None of Ged's stuff is up either. Keyboards missing. I doubt they'll go back to a 4th person playing keys at the mixing board??? Hmmmm. I always thought that was cheezy.

Edit> that is one big ass screen though!

  7. IM all for this myself for the same exact reasons. Bringing the kids and wife and am going to make a disc for them to "get with it".

Of course once the setlist gets issued I could mix up the songs to surprise them with the order. Doesn't much bother me to know everything I can about the show.

  8. 100% on board with these. First tried em at a Candlebox gig (awesome live band BTW) and used them ever since. Better sound, attenuated just enough but loud enough for the rock concert experience.
  9. A friend mine was invited to a RUSH meet and greet on the last tour. His brother manages a Ruth's Chris in Tampa and the year before Alex and Geddy and wives pulled up in a limo and asked if they could be seated on late notice. They apparently were quite gracious and asked for no special treatment but were accommodated and very greatful. They took his name and email address.

A year later he gets an email stating they had front row seats at the Orlando show here in town and were invited to the meet and great. It was as described above, however they had arrnaged in advance permission to have a bass and guitar signed by the guys. Apparently they hung in the Ruth's Chris for about two month's unitl the regional manager asked them to be taken down.

Both my friend and his brother happen to be big fans and were given couple extra minutes, they were last in line by design. He said the guys were real nice but clearly had other things on their mind. They post the pictures on the website in a secret area for the participants to download later.

I feel your pain. Got my tickets for the West Palm show a few weeks ago & it seems like forever. The worst thing now is waiting for the documentary next week on VH1, and waiting for my Blu- ray of it to get here. Anyone know of a pre party for the show? We're coming from Orlando. 2.gif

    I'm Longwood Bro.'

Heading down with the family so not much partying though.

  11. I just listened to a couple things. The Camera Eye on CD sounded amazing at very high volume. And YYZ's bass line in the main verses is in-frigging-credible. I've really never heard it like tonight, each string ringing out big and deep, popping each note like lighting strikes. Chills!

I mention this because normally I'm listening on my ipod or the appletv when at home. But I have a fairly high end system and the family was out so for shits and giggles i dusted off the (gasp) CD! Sounds so much better!

Now to my original point about sounds...

Also put on Between The Wheels from R30 and the sustain from Alex's guitar at the end is giant! I mean the sound from this recording is spacially HUGE! Thanks God for big ass loudspeakers!
