  1. Just tried to buy seats for Irvine Meadows (Verizon) and TM is now making you use a Citibank Card to purchase the tickets. -- I had a nice set of lodge seats but couldn't get them because I no longer bank with those crooks.

I mention this because I was able to buy Jones Beach seats during the presale w/o a Citicard. (Ha!) I wonder if the state law is different in CA vs NY and/or Citibank caught on that people were finding the code on the internet and not using their cards to make the purchase. (Ha!)

Either way, I'm glad I was able grab decent seats for the NY July show using Citibank but not having to pay Citibank one cent of interest or fees. (Ha!) Thanks for the great seats Citibank!

I'll have to try the public sale for Irvine Meadows on Saturday. Or start watching the ol' Stubhub.

I noticed some presale folks already have their tickets up on Stubhub. I'm glad they are undercutting pro scalpers by pricing their seats just above face.

If we're going on a Time Machine, I'd love the opener to be Bastille Day.

    Hells to the yeah, man!!

Go back in time to the first live album and have some 70's FM DJ go old school with "Please welcome to the stage... RUSH!!"

  3. The electronic drum kit will have a Flux Capacitor in the center...

And the quitar amps will have a Mr. Fusion on top...

Behind Geddy (base amp area) will be vintage vending machines

angry.gif RUSH fans, I am extremely sad to announce that mass-corporating enterprises have ruined the way in which Rush truly connects with fans. The fans no longer have access to the seats that connect them personally with the band. I went onto Ticketmaster today to see what I could find for Jersey, and I didn't find anything better than the third-level. Mind you, I pulled up these tickets a total of 34 seconds after they went on sale.

I am not happy. I want tickets for Toronto and I doubt that I will find anything that will come close to my front row experience in Quebec City in 2007... I thought that Rush was the band that would never succomb to this. I wish they would put out a concerted effort to ensure that the true fans (US!) have access to the seats they deserve. We are the diehards, not the scalpers, ticketmaster and livenation.

I'm sorry for all of you across the border.. that would've been a very stressful situation.

    sad.gif

I believe RUSH has done something quite extraordinary with the VIP tickets.

In the past, brokers would hire people to wait in line and scoop up as many premium seats as they could. Then sell those seats at a 500%++ markup over face value.

The premium seats rows 1-15 are now available to Rush fans. The higher price and the will call pickup ensures that brokers won't buy them. This doesn't stop all the scalping, but it does curtail it a little.

I went online for Jones Beach right after they went on sale and found nothing--then, later in the morning, I went back and found some orchestra seats. Timing, I guess.

Also, if you start checking TM everyday about 2-3 weeks before the show, some great seats will become available. I've grabbed up awesome seats with this method--though I believe it's more common in the arena type venues than the amphitheaters.

  5. Time Machine Tour Video Idea #2-

I'm still working on it, but basically it involves Lerxst in a black leather jacket and shades saying: "Come with me if you want to live."

Then Robert Patrick in an LAPD uniform knocks on Neil's dressing room door and holds up a Geddy bobble head and says have you seen this man?

  6. Jerry Stiller, Darn that Dragon, South Park, By-Tor vs. Snowdog Robot War... The wit and humor of the last decade of Rush Concert Videos has become a highlight of the RUSH live show...

Any guesses as to what's coming on the TIME MACHINE TOUR...

I picture Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd driving a DeLorean down a desert highway, Time Stands Still playing on the radio...

In the distance they see a man on the side of road trying to start his motorcycle...

They pull over to help and find the Professor late for a gig...

"Can you guys give me a ride?"

    "Sure, hop in."

"Marty, we don't have time. We've got to get back to the future."

"Come on, Doc, we just can't leave him on the side of road."

The Professor hops in the DeLorean and notices the flux capacitor coming to life... They zoom off down road, taking it up to 88 mph. BOOM!

Finally, arriving at the concert venue, but something is off... Everyone is dressed funny. Backstage, the professor finds Geddy and Alex dressed in Kimonos... Cue 2112 intro!

Later in the show, when the drum kit spins around to reveal the electronic set, there's a flux capacitor in the roland base drum!

You are coming from Cali to go to Jones Beach ? You should have asked around before you did that. Much, Much better places to see a show

I know Jones Beach can't compare to the Garden or Radio City, but I'm coming out to NYC to hang out with some long time Rush friends, so the Jones Beach is going to be great despite the venue.

I sold on stubhub... seems legit to me.  Never bought though; I'm too chicken..

You will not have a problem, as long as you have a boat load of cash to spend:lol:

I don't get it...STUB HUB already has tickets up for the Toronto shows even before they've gone on sale.

They want over $700 for tickets in Row 35! wtf.gif

Just be patient. They will come down... They are testing the market.

The brilliance of stubhub is there isn't the price fixing that goes on with brokers.

A handfull of average fans can bring the prices down fast by offering their extra seats just above/below face.
